TIME UPDATE

Sunday, October 22nd - Saturday, October 28th

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22nd:
Weather: Scattered clouds; 71°/48°

EVENTS
→ An Amber Alert is issued for nine year old Amelia Lucas after her mother and father report her missing sometime late Sunday morning. The PPPD has asked everyone to be on alert and to call with any information or sightings. A search party is formed by mid-evening, and a large group of volunteers begin to search the woods behind Seaview Village.

→ Today is the last day for the 45th Annual Festival of the Six. The festival hours for today will be 12pm-6pm, with the Sixers Halloween Ball held from 4:30pm to 6pm in the main tent, where everyone is encouraged to dress up in their witchiest garb (optional, of course). There will be music, free food and beverages.

→ Anyone visiting the cemetery will be feeling extremely uneasy today and for most of the week, although they won't be able to figure out why. The air inside the cemetery seems to be unusually warm and dense, and an eerie, ominous feeling will follow them until they chose to leave. It's probably best not to linger too long, which puts a damper on anyone wanting to spook themselves by getting close to the infamous Noble Mausoleum as it approaches the 8 year anniversary of the three boys who went missing inside of it, two of whom never returned.

MONDAY,OCTOBER 23rd:
Weather: Partly sunny with light fog after sunset; 61°/52°

EVENTS
→ Those affected by the mirror shenanigans will be dreaming of each other again tonight, although it is just as frustrating as the first dream, where no one is able to speak to each other, and yes, once again something terrifying seems to be coming for them, jolting them awake at the last moment. The worst part about this dream is they'll find they've been sleepwalking, and when they wake up - sometime in the middle of the night - they'll be alone and outside in the middle of the nearest road. Hopefully no cars are coming by at the wrong time.

→ As morning settles in, the search parties continue, with some groups remaining in the surrounding woods near Seaview, while others take on Blackwater Woods in groups. People are encouraged to stick together and not go off on their own.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24th:
Weather: Mostly cloudy, but a warm day; 66°/50°

EVENTS
→ A middle aged drifter walks through town right around sunrise. Not many people are awake at that time, and those that are may just give him a passing glance out their window, or from their car, should they pass him. He heads down Butler Street, whistling as the sun starts to rise. He is last seen by Mrs. Gallagher, who is peering curiously out her kitchen window as she begins to make her morning coffee. She turns to pour the water into the coffee pot just as the drifter is walking past the Rogan's old house. When she looks back outside to catch sight of him again, he's gone. Eh, nothing worth thinking about.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25th:
Weather: Sunny; 57°/39°

EVENTS
→ Lights in the Rogan home are on all day, and night, although any peek inside will show the house remains completely empty, despite the For Sale sign being gone, and the 1985 Chevrolet station wagon still sitting in the driveway, this time facing the street. Not that anyone really cares, right? Does anyone even remember the former tenants all that well?

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26th:
Weather: A cloudy, chilly day with scattered showers that become a downpour by sunset. The rain lasts throughout the night into early morning Friday; 47°/35°

EVENTS
→ Oh happy day... and a quiet one in Point Pleasant, save for the whispers about Amelia Lucas's disappearance. Maybe her parents did something to her and are covering it up now... or maybe Amelia is just the beginning of another rash of children going missing in Point Pleasant. To say people are on edge is an understatement, and you're not likely to see any young kids out playing in the streets without parental supervision.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27th:
Weather: The rain clears up around six o'clock in the morning. It's a gray day with a bit of wind, but nothing overly inconvenient;59°/34°

EVENTS
→ There is no school today for Chamberlain High School due to a Teacher Work Day.

→ Despite there being no school for students, there is a football game tonight against the Milbridge Vikings, and it marks the Wolves's last game of the season before the playoffs begin next week.

→ The Overlook Country Club's 5th Annual All Hallow's Gala is tonight! Proceeds from the tickets will go local schools to fund their extracurricular activities and after school programs. Tickets are $50 a person, or $85 a couple and can still be bought at the door for last minute attendees. There will be, of course, prizes for best costume(s), as well as catered food, an open bar and more. This gala is for adults only!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28th:
Weather: Foggy in the morning, but the skies are clear by nine o'clock; 63°/45°

EVENTS
→ The last weekend of the Orion Fright Series! The theater will be playing the 1980 Kubrick Classic, The Shining at 7pm and 10pm!

→ As it gets closer to Halloween, the thin veil between worlds seems to be becoming thinner. Anyone who participated in one of the museum's Six Witches Tour will start seeing strange apparitions around town, and in their place of residence throughout the day. For the locals, or those who have done their research, the ghosts will look quite a bit like the Six who were executed in 1694. The ghosts don't seem unfriendly, though they don't speak, nor do they linger once they're seen. Are these apparitions real? A trick of the eye? Psychosomatic? Who really knows... the descendants of said ghostly witches may not see their ancestors, but they are going to feel an intense surge in their abilities today. Use it or lose it, as they say!

→ Attention all Chamberlain High students. Big Halloween party tonight at Victoria Chapman's house in Overlook. All are (presumably) invited.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, October 15th - Saturday, October 21st

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15th:
Weather: Scattered showers throughout most of the day and extremely foggy after sunset (don't worry, this is perfectly normal fog.); 64°/51°

EVENTS
→ Those in town who have been affected by the initial mirror hallucinations and mood swings over the past few weeks will have a rather strange experience tonight after they fall asleep. There is no real timetable to it, but at some point they will wake up, standing somewhere unknown in the dark. It's obvious they're outside, but the scenery around them is faded and out of focus.

And they're not alone. In the distance, they'll see a couple of other people - those who have had the same experiences with the mirrors. They may recognize them from around town, and they may not. But there is the undeniable realization that they're not the only ones who have gone through this. As soon as they start to move, maybe to walk toward the others, an inhuman scream fills the darkness, prompting them to wake up, safe and sound in their bed. But the dream - it was a dream, right? - remains fresh in their mind.

MONDAY,OCTOBER 16th:
Weather: Light sprinkling of rain in the morning, but it clears up by ten o'clock in the morning and the skies remain partly cloudy for the rest of the day; 65°/43°

EVENTS
→ A pretty normal day in Point Pleasant. For anyone who might be paying attention, they'll realize the Rogan house has finally sold, but there are no signs of the new residents yet except for a locked, 1985 Chevrolet station wagon in the driveway.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17th:
Weather: Cloudy and gray with strong winds toward evening; 53°/31°

EVENTS
→ It's been awhile, hasn't it? But once again, the sound of a train barreling through the woods surrounding Seaview Village wakes a select few shortly before midnight tonight. As usual, most believe they're just hearing things, or maybe it's just an airplane flying too low. Maybe they know better, but it's easier to play dumb. If anyone decides to make the trek to the railroad to investigate, they won't find much but some lame vandalism on the concrete above the tunnel itself, next to the hook that had been placed there weeks before. Who's next? written in red spray paint. Some people have too much time on their hands, honestly.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18th:
Weather: Partly cloudy, but warm; 68°/43°

EVENTS
→ Nearly everyone in town gets a flyer in their mail today with a coupon for 50% off any costume at Spooktacular! through October 30th. Despite being a fairly small store, their inventory is seemingly endless, and if there's something you want, they've got it. Even if you had no plans to dress up for Halloween, 50% off? It's such a good deal that most feel rather compelled to go shopping anyway.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19th:
Weather: A miserable day with nothing but rain and thunderstorms; 63°/39°

EVENTS
→ Nothing of note to mention today. Enjoy the silence.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th:
Weather: The storms clear out by morning and the rest of the day is sunny and clear; 66°/44°

EVENTS
→ Get ready for a spooky weekend, as the 45th Annual Festival of the Six begins today and runs through Sunday, October 22nd. The festival, sponsored by the Point Pleasant Museum, turns Main Street into the Witches Market, an emporium of magical gifts and artifacts with booths run by "real" practicing witches who have come from all over the east coast to share their gifts with the residents of Point Pleasant (for a fee, of course). Dive into your destiny with psychic readings! Send a message to your lost loved ones with an authentic séance! Enter the 'best dressed witch' costume contest and win free tickets to the official Sixers Halloween Ball that will close out the festival on Sunday, October 22nd. The festival hours are as follows: 3pm-11pm on Friday. 12pm - 11pm on Saturday and 12pm-6pm on Sunday. Admission is $10.

→ The Chamberlain Wolves play the Brighton Titans tonight at 7pm. For the players involved in the bus crash the week before, they must be medically cleared by a doctor to play tonight, although the entire team is expected to be there regardless of their eligibility.

→ The Point Pleasant Six Witches Tours continues tonight. Take a nighttime stroll to Lyttle Hill, the cemetery where the six are buried, and other other notable spots relevant to Point Pleasant's dark history. Tours are at 7:30pm and 9:30pm (only those 18 years of age and older will be permitted for the later tour). Tours will last approximately 90 minutes.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21st:
Weather: Sunny and clear; 65°/41°

EVENTS
→ Day number two of the 45th Annual Festival of the Six.

→ Tonight's Fright Series feature at the Orion is the 1985 classic, Fright Night, at both 7pm and 10pm.

→ As it happens every year around this time, there is an increase of visitors to Ludlow Lane to check out the old Zinneman house. The PPPD makes it a point to patrol this particular street a bit more during the weeks leading up to Halloween, if only to keep mischievous teens from sneaking inside or vandalizing the abandoned homes. Tonight, however, anyone passing by after dark may be unpleasantly surprised to find the lights are in the Zinneman house. Which makes no sense, since there hasn't been any electricity in the house for over ten years. Anyone who stops to go inside to check it out will walk into an instantly dark house. Maybe they were just seeing things...?

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, October 8 -Saturday, October 14

Sunday, October 8:
Weather: A sunny, warm day without a cloud in the sky. 66°/58°

EVENTS
→ A new Priest, Father Dean, has temporarily taken over the congregation at St. Dismas. There is no news as to what happened to Father O'Shea, other than he's taken an indefinite leave of absence.

→ Nothing has really changed in terms of the unfortunate Ouija board "problem" still plaguing a handful of teens. However, the suggestion of using salt around their beds at night has helped with their nightmares, and they seemed to be 'protected' by while they sleep. The nightmares remain, but the physical reminders of them in the morning stop. Still, it's becoming clear things are only going to escalate unless action is taken.

Monday, October 9:
Weather: Partly cloudy, but the warm weather holds. 67°/43°

EVENTS
→ A pretty quiet day in Point Pleasant! Enjoy it.

Tuesday, October 10:
Weather: What is this heat wave? It's amazing. A sunny day!; 74°/54°

EVENTS
→ Oh my god... another quiet day in Point Pleasant. It's wonderful... right?

→ Well, it's a quiet day for most. Our residents who have had some unfortunate encounters with their mirrors will be subjected to another round of unexplainable mood swings throughout the day from the moment they wake up until they are finally able to go to sleep. They may experience the highest of highs, or the lowest of lows, and there is no warning as to what may trigger them.

Wednesday, October 11:
Weather: The warm weather dips a bit, but the skies remain clear; 63°/44°

EVENTS
→ Spooktacular! is having a sale, buy one get one half off in the store today through Saturday, October 14th!

Thursday, October 12:
Weather: Another sunny day, though the it's rather blustery, blowing a few leaves off the trees around town; 59°/36°

EVENTS
→ Empty Orchestra is advertising Ladies Night, where all alcoholic beverages are half off.

→ Not that it's blatantly obvious, given the state of the house, but it seems like someone has vandalized the old Zinneman house on Ludlow Lane by spray painting strange, red symbols on the side of the house. Most residents chalk it up to bored teenagers who tend to visit the house more frequently during the month of October.

Friday, October 13:
Weather: A windy day, but that's really the only inconvenience; 58°/34°

EVENTS
→ The Chamberlain Wolves are away tonight, playing the Marshwood Hawks in Sanford!

The Wolves come away with a win, but on the way home, one of the buses carrying the team, cheerleaders and a few coaches experiences a collision with a wayward tractor trailer. There are quite a few injuries and many are taken to Mercy Hospital for examinations.

→ The Point Pleasant Museum is known for its Point Pleasant Six Witches Tours throughout the year, but today marks the beginning of their Haunted Witches Tours for tourists or locals.

Saturday, October 14:
Weather: Another spike in the temperatures, and partly sunny. People want to enjoy this kind of weather while they still can; 66°/53°

EVENTS
→ It's Main Street Market Day! Several blocks of Main Street are closed to traffic and full of local vendors selling fresh produce, crafts and more. Come out and support Point Pleasant's small businesses.

→ Maybe it's a day late, but the Orion will be celebrating Friday the 13th by showing, you guessed it, Friday the 13th tonight at 7pm and 10pm!

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, October 1 -Saturday, October 7

Sunday, October 1:
Weather: A clear day with the sun shining bright. 61°/38°

EVENTS

→ Today is the last day of Oysterfest at the marina! Delicious oysters, wines, microbrews and live music will be available from Noon until 6pm. No pets or outside food/drink will be permitted.

→ It's a quiet day in Point Pleasant, at least for most of the residents. The police department is still dealing with the aftermath of the fog from the week before. Several residents have been arrested and charged with battery, aggravated assault, and in a couple cases, murder.

→ The teens still dealing with the consequences of the Ouija board continue to experience terrifying nightmares of the red eyed shadow they had seen in the fog. The dreams feel far too real when they wake up, and they'll continue to find bruises and minor wounds on their bodies. It's beginning to take a toll on their mental and physical health as well, yet there's nothing they can do to stop it. Right? These nightmares occur nightly and show no sign of stopping.

Monday, October 2:
Weather: Another clear day. How lovely. 58°/37°

EVENTS

→ Students are reminded that Homecoming is this Saturday, October 7th, being held in the school gym. Tickets will be on sale in the office all week, and at the door of the dance.

→ Advertising for the Overlook Country Club's 5th Annual All Hallow's Gala begins to pop up around Point Pleasant. The Gala is a costume party for adults only. Proceeds from the tickets will go local schools to fund their extracurricular activities and after school programs. Tickets are $50 a person, or $85 a couple. There will be, of course, prizes for best costume(s), as well as catered food, an open bar and more. The Gala will be held on Friday, October 27th.

Tuesday, October 3:
Weather: Partly cloudy, but a fairly decent day, weather wise.; 59°/41°

EVENTS

→ Oh happy day! It's a pretty chill day in Point Pleasant. The weather is crisp, the leaves are changing color and everyone seems to be in a rather good mood.

Wednesday, October 4:
Weather: Oh, look, the sun is out. The sky is bright and clear all day long; 59°/51°

EVENTS

→ Those who had a rather unfortunate experience with their mirror a few weeks ago will find that being near any reflective surface today causes them extreme discomfort. Not physically, but mentally, as once again they'll get the feeling that their reflection is someone else, a different version of themselves, even if the reflection never acts out of the ordinary the way it did before. The most disturbing part of the experience is the undeniable feeling that whoever is looking back at them is someone, or something, dark and malevolent. The more they look into the mirror, the more they start to feel differently, like those sinister emotions are seeping into themselves, and it feels good. The dark feelings are hard to shake, even when they look away, but they will fade once they move away from their reflection, even if the memory of them lingers.

Thursday, October 5:

Weather: Storm clouds roll in early in the morning and it starts to rain by lunch time. The rain continues on and off until nightfall, when it finally clears up, leaving the town a soggy mess. But hey, at least the power stayed on?; Oh! And it's also a full moon tonight; 64°/55°

EVENTS

→ While there's no announcement, a lot of people in Point Pleasant feel uneasy today due to the fact that it's a full moon, and everyone knows strange, scary things tend to happen on the nights of a full moon. Best to stay inside, just to be safe.

Friday, October 6:
Weather: A gray day with isolated showers; 56°/39°

EVENTS

→ The Chamberlain Wolves host the Scarborough Bulldogs tonight at 7pm for their 2017 Homecoming Game! Come cheer on Point Pleasant's football team, and celebrate those who have made Homecoming Court!

→ A temporary Halloween store pops up in a vacant store front on Main Street! Spooktacular! claims to be your one stop shop for everything you could possibly want! The shop will be open through October 31st. Please make sure to read the description of the shop on the Locations page.

Saturday, October 7:
Weather: Sunshine, although the days are definitely getting cooler. 54°/38°

EVENTS

→ It's Main Street Market Day! Several blocks of Main Street are closed to traffic and full of local vendors selling fresh produce, crafts and more. Come out and support Point Pleasant's small businesses.

→ Tonight is Homecoming for Chamberlain High School held in the beautifully decorated gym. It's bound to be a normal night for most.

→ If a high school dance isn't your thing, come on out to The Orion tonight to view the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho! Shows will be at 7pm and 10pm.

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, September 24-Saturday, September 30

Sunday, September 24:
Weather: Fog, fog, nothing but fog! 62°/58°
EVENTS

→Sorry, but the power is still out for most of Point Pleasant. The electric company has their priorities, and getting community buildings back up and running is their number one. It's been difficult with the relentless fog.

→ Some residents of Point Pleasant who have been touched by something 'weird' in town (encountering the Dark Man, playing with Ouija boards, mirror shenanigans, etc) will feel a deep sense of foreboding, like something bad is about to happen, and they can't stop it. AIR subjects and any supernatural creatures will feel the same. How they deal with that is up to them.

Monday, September 25:
Weather: Fog... shouldn't this be cleared up by now?; 59°/48°
EVENTS

→Power has been restored to most of Point Pleasant save for a few neighborhoods here and there. This comes as a relief to most, though the electricity is still a bit shoddy, flickering on and off when it's being used. The electric company has advised limited use for the time being.

→ The PPPD are asking people to stay off the roads if they can, due to the thick fog and poor visibility on the roads. They have responded to a handful accidents already, including a few injury accidents. Because of low visibility, school has been cancelled.

→ The silly teenagers who decided to spend an evening summoning the dead will begin seeing a dark figure on and off in the fog. There is no real shape to the being, and the only way they know it's more than just a shadow is the glowing red eyes that seem to be watching them. It doesn't approach, or attack, but it will plague their dreams after their first spotting of it in the fog.

Tuesday, September 26:
Weather: Motherf*cking FOG. Oh, and it's gotten considerably colder; 52°/43°
EVENTS

→ Once again, school has been cancelled. This is better than a snow day, at least! Isn't it? Maybe not...

→ Today's fog is not exactly normal fog... not like it was the last couple of days, anyway. This fog... feels different. And it's going to affect anyone who is brave enough to venture out into it. Within a few minutes of being outside, engulfed in the ominous weather, people will start to feel a little off. The gut feeling that something is wrong will soon blossom into full blown paranoia and panic, and then, violence. If they're alone, they may hurt themselves from having no target for their aggression. If they're with someone else, they may turn on each other. This could lead to serious injury, or even death.

There is no reason for their anger, no explanation. They may feel a twinge of consciousnesses that what they're doing is wrong, but will be unable to stop until they've removed themselves from the fog, retreating into a home, a building or even a car (in which the violence will subside almost immediately). The longer they stay outside, the harder it will be to escape the carnal urge to hurt something.

The PPPD will be dealing with a lot today and they're still sorely understaffed. They're also not immune to the effects of the fog...

Wednesday, September 27:
Weather: The fog begins to dissipate overnight, leaving plenty of damage and chaos in its wake. The sky is cloudy and gray throughout the day; 59°/51°
EVENTS

→The town begins to recover from the past few days, including dealing with any damage left behind from accidents, vandalism and violence. There are more than a few dead bodies the police will have to deal with, among other things. The hospital is also a bit busier than usual.

→School is back in session. Yay?

Thursday, September 28:

Weather: Oh, look, the sun is out. The sky is bright and clear all day long; 64°/55°
EVENTS

→ For the most part, a quiet day in town, although the police and volunteers have finally begun to search for missing Danny Valiant.

→ A few agents from the local EPA arrive in the afternoon to speak with the Mayor as well as the Chief of Police to discuss the unfortunate "pollution" that plagued the town over the past several days, causing rather unfortunate side effects. The EPA promises that they'll do everything they can to ensure that Point Pleasant is "clean" again before they depart.

Friday, September 29:
Weather: Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine; 65°/59°
EVENTS

→ Tickets for Chamberlain High School's Homecoming dance go on sale today for $20 per student, or $35 for a couple.

→It's a lovely evening, so come out and enjoy some high school football as the Chamberlain Wolves have a home game tonight against the Portland Bulldogs.

→ Those Oujia teenagers are still dreaming about the shadow they saw in the fog, but now their dreams are starting to feel strangely real. If the shadow, or whatever it is, hurts them in their dreams, they'll wake to find a similar injury when they wake. Surely there's a logical explanation for all of it, but... maybe not.

Saturday, September 30:
Weather: More sunshine. Not a cloud in the sky. 66°/57°
EVENTS

→ After spending the last couple of days speaking with various residents around town, the EPA team finally pack up and depart.

→The search continues for Danny Valiant, and extends to the Blackwater Woods until just before sundown, but does anyone really expect to find anything?

→ The Fright Series continues tonight with An American Werewolf in London, showing at both 7pm and 10pm!

→Today is also the first day of Oysterfest at the marina and what a gorgeous day for it! Delicious oysters, wines, microbrews and live music will be available from 11am until 6pm. No pets or outside food/drink will be permitted.

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, September 17-Saturday, September 23

Sunday, September 17:
Weather: A full day of rain and occasional thunder; 62°/49°
EVENTS

→ Anyone who experienced the unfortunate hallucination with their mirror the night before will find themselves experiencing rather wild mood swings today. Everything may be just fine with their attitude one minute, and then supremely horrible the next. They may experience anything from extreme happiness or unexplainable rage to heightened, er, randiness. These mood swings will last throughout the day, and well into the evening. The only constant today is the uneasiness they feel when they're looking at any reflective surface. There are no hallucinations this time, but it still feels as though their own reflection is somehow... not their own.

→ Residential homes and apartments are dealing with foul smelling brown water today. Local plumbers are working long hours today trying to figure out the problem. It's been raining a lot, sure, and sometimes pipe lines get clogged, or flooded... but that doesn't seem to be the case here, and it's every home, not just a few. It's strange, to be certain, and frustrating for anyone trying to shower or wash laundry. Thankfully by nightfall the water seems to be normal again. Hooray.

→ Oh, how lovely! Someone has returned Mrs. Mercer's rotted corpse to the cemetery! The caretaker will find the lovely lady outside of his trailer this morning. Her tongue is missing though. Ew.

Monday, September 18:
Weather: Steady rain all day; 65°/51°
EVENTS

→ Advertising for the 30th Annual Oysterfest has begun appearing throughout town. Oysters, wines, microbrews, live music and more will take place on Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st at the Marina. This is a popular event for the people of Point Pleasant and is often seen as a precursor for the Harvest Festival in October. Oysterfest is once again sponsored by D'Onofrio Management Co.

→ At 10:45pm, residents of Seaview Village will be bothered yet again by the sound of a train barreling through the woods behind them. If you listen close enough, you may even hear the horn. If you want to try and sludge your way out there in the rain, you'll find nothing. No disturbances at all. The only thing you might notice is the presence of a hook hanging above the mouth of the tunnel, looking eerily similar to the hook used to hang the murder victims in 1992 and 2001. That hadn't been there before, had it?

Tuesday, September 19:
Weather: More rain? Yup. All day; 64°/51°
EVENTS

→ The Rogan house has a shiny new For Sale sign in the front yard. The house is completely empty and spotless with new floors and painted walls. There is no sign at all that a bloody crime was committed inside. In fact, it doesn't appear as if the house has been lived in in quite some time. The Chief of Police is having a difficult time getting answers from the State Police as to the status of Peter Rogan's case... especially given the fact that the State Police claim to not have any clue who Peter Rogan is. It doesn't help matters that Margaret Rogan was transferred to a hospital in Portland a little over a week ago, yet no hospital has any record of her either. Stranger still, despite several doctors and nurses having treated her in Mercy Hospital, they also find they have no physical record of Margaret Rogan's admittance on the 3rd of September. Every trace of the couple seems to have vanished completely.

→ Hey, a new Karaoke Bar has just opened up in town. The Empty Orchestra has opened to very little fanfare and advertising (did anyone even notice that 'Coming Soon' sign that's been on the window for months?), but it's hard to miss the neon blue sign and bright purple door as you wander by. The best part? It's open to anyone sixteen and over. Come in and sing your heart out (not literally, of course. That would be gross).

Wednesday, September 20:
Weather: Is it over yet? Nope. Rain, rain and more rain; 62°/47°
EVENTS

→ Posters and flyers for Chamberlain High School's Homecoming Dance are starting to get taped up around the school. The dance will be October 7th! Better start dress shopping now, ladies.

→ Former AIR subjects will come home at some point today and find their current place of residence having been broken into. It's not a subtle thing either. The doors are ajar, the locks - no matter how heavy duty - are broken and left on the floor. Any security alarms will have been deactivated quickly and before detecting an intruder. However, there is no disarray, and nothing is taken, so it couldn't have been a robbery, right? Was somebody looking for something? Was somebody looking for them? How deep does their paranoia go, exactly?

Birthdays: Roxy Muñoz

Thursday, September 21:
Weather: Finally the rain begins to slow in the early morning, but it's a gray, cold and windy day; 61°/46°
EVENTS

→ Oh yay, a quiet, uneventful day in Point Pleasant, even if the weather remains pretty crappy.

Friday, September 22:
Weather: Still gray and cloudy with no sign of the sun; 62°/50°
EVENTS

→ Good news for teens in town; It's a bye week for the football team, and Jules Cooper's parents are out of town, so it seems like an ideal time to let loose. News of a planned party make the rounds at school, and by 10 o'clock Friday night, her house is full of teenagers looking to blow off some steam and have some fun.

→ Around midnight, the windows shatter in dozens upon dozens of cars and trucks in town. There is no rhyme or reason to it, and no explanation to be had by those who actually witness the phenomenon. Those who come out to see their car's windows destroyed later may believe it's the work of vandals (obviously). The PPPD will be writing a lot of police reports in the early hours of the morning.

Saturday, September 23:
Weather: The sun peeks out by mid morning, but it's still fairly cloudy throughout the day; A thick, dense fog begins to roll in from the ocean around 9:30pm, and spreads throughout town as the night ticks on, making it visibility difficult for anyone out and about, whether in their car or by foot; 60°/48°
EVENTS

→ Do you like scary movies? The Fright Series at the Orion continues tonight with the 1996 classic, Scream. Showings at 7:00pm and 10:00pm.

→ The 2nd Annual Bachelor(ette) Auction is taking place tonight at the Overlook Country Club from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This is a black tie event and includes a silent auction for several pricey items, as well as the Bachelor(ette) auction itself. Just a few names listed to be auctioned off are:

Carson Durand
Jared Gaines
Fin Haynes
Reagan Kelly
Brodie Kingston
Ellis Lyttle
Rylee Mears
Zeke Miller
Ty Solomon

→ The spreading fog isn't the only inconvenience the people of Point Pleasant will experience. Around ten thirty at night, there is a town-wide power outage. The electric company is bombarded with calls, but with the fog making it near impossible to see and drive through, they're obviously going to be delayed in getting their workers out to the utility poles to check on any potential damage.

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, September 10-Saturday, September 16

Sunday, September 10:
Weather: Sunny; 65°/52°

EVENTS

→ The weather cooperates for the second day of the Main Street Market. Like the day before, the market is open from 11am to 6pm. Various vendors and shops from around town have set up booths to sell clothing, jewelry, produce, crafts and more. There are also kettle corn, ice cream and coffee, but no beer vendors today!

→ Mercy Hospital board member and local entrepreneur Veronica Kelly announces the 2nd Annual Bachelor(ette) Auction to help raise money for the hospital. Anyone (who is single, of course) who wishes to participate are asked to send in their information by Saturday, the 16th. The auction (open to everyone in town) will take place on September 23rd at the Overlook Country Club. Don't be worried about planning that perfect date! All "winning" bids come with date packages donated by sponsors.

Those who wish to participate can sign up for the fundraiser through Mrs. Kelly or the hospital.

MOD NOTE: If your character wishes to participate in the auction, or be a bidder, please comment on this post. All comments are screened.

→ Belladonna's store hours have been amended for this week only, as its owner, Reagan Kelly, is out of town. The store will be open from 10am-3:00pm through Saturday, the 16th.

Monday, September 11:
Weather: Partly cloudy; 67°/47°

EVENTS

→ Directly after morning mass at St. Dismas, Father O'Shea will hold a special 9/11 Memorial Service.

→ The PPPD are called mid-morning by the Chief of Staff at Mercy Hospital to report that one of their doctors, Nicole Thornton, has not shown up for work. A welfare check is completed, and it appears as though Dr. Thornton has packed up and move away quite suddenly. All attempts to contact her are unsuccessful and all signs point to the fact that she has simply left town.

Her hospital badge is found in the parking lot, but you know, people drop things all the time...

→ A grave in the cemetery is found to be vandalized, except this time, the grave has been completely dug up. The coffin was cracked opened, but thankfully, the corpse, or what's left of it, remains inside. The PPPD cannot tell is anything was taken from the coffin, although one of the fingers is missing. Whether it was gone before or after death is not determined.

Tuesday, September 12:
Weather: Sunny without a cloud in the sky; 71°/51°
EVENTS

→ Mercifully, it's a quiet, beautiful day in Point Pleasant. Enjoy it.

Wednesday, September 13:
Weather: Sunny and crisp; 66°/51°
EVENTS

→ For any students interested, the first meeting of S.A.F.E., the Sexuality Alliance for Everyone club, is being held after school at 3:30 in Room 112 by Sabrina Cox and Mak Richberg. The group will brainstorm potential events to be held both at school, and around town, to raise awareness for equality.

→ Loomis Gifts & Antiques is offering a 50% off sale for their entire inventory. Come on in and take a look around. You might be surprised at what you find!

MOD NOTE: If your character plans on making a purchase at the store, please let mods know ahead of time!

Thursday, September 14:
Weather: Rainy all day; 64°/51°
EVENTS

→ A bit of a rainy, gloomy day in Point Pleasant, but otherwise, quiet.

→ Thanks to dental records, the body from Cooperdale Tunnel has been identified as George Norman, a man from Bangor who had gone missing three weeks ago. His family cannot explain how or why he would have ended up in Point Pleasant, only that he had been off of his medications and had been 'hearing voices' for a few days before he went missing.

The death has certainly sparked some fresh interest in the Cooperdale Tunnel. Police tape is still up and around the crime scene, but is that really going to stop anyone who really wants to hike out there and take a look?

Friday, September 15:
Weather: Cloudy; 69°/53°
EVENTS

→ The Chamberlain Wolves are away tonight, playing the Wells Warriors. Sadly, they lose by a last second field goal, with a score of 24-21.

→ The PPPD announce the retirement of their longtime clerk, Rose, who will be leaving the department in two weeks. A replacement is being sought.

→ Tonight, another grave is dug up in the Point Pleasant Cemetery close to midnight. It's a fresher grave, and the corpse is missing, something no one is bound to discover until morning, unless the cemetery caretaker happens upon it (hopefully by not falling into it) during his patrol. Clearly this is more than mere vandalism...

Saturday, September 16:
Weather: Sunny and brisk; As nightfall sets in, a light rain begins and continues through the night; 65°/51°
EVENTS

→ The Fright Series at the Orion continues tonight with George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead! Come out and be spooked! Really, the screening had been planned weeks ago... the recent vandalism at the cemetery is merely a coincidence!

→ Tonight, just after the rain begins, several people in Point Pleasant have a somewhat... disturbing experience with a mirror throughout the evening. Oh, the mirror works just as it should, except after a moment it becomes quite clear that their reflection is not exactly a reflection, as it has stopped mimicking their movements. Instead, their mirror version begins pounding on the other side of the mirror, their lips parted in a soundless scream. This continues for only a few moments before they begin shouting something. While there is no sound at all, it seems their mirror self is trying to warn them... what are they trying to say? They are coming.

As long as the mirror is still in one piece during this encounter, their mirror self will disappear quickly after this warning, with something dark and shadowy yanking them back away from the mirror and into darkness. The mirror will return to being nothing more than a regular mirror after this... their reflection once again a normal reflection.

What the hell just happened? Was that real? Oh, maybe they're ill, or just overtired, perhaps they ate something bad at dinner, or smoked a bad batch of weed. How do you explain something so bizarre without sounding like a lunatic?? And what did that even mean.. They are coming? Who, or what, is they?

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Thursday, September 7-Saturday, September 9

Thursday, September 7:
Weather: Sunny; 68°/57°

EVENTS

→ The pieces of a body found near Cooperdale Tunnel has been collected and is in the process of being identified. The police had taped off the area as a crime scene and have asked all residents to stay clear until their investigation is complete.

→ News has spread that 'The Blackwater Butcher' has returned to Point Pleasant. Needless to say, there are plenty of people who are not happy about this and still believe in his guilt, overturned conviction or not. Regardless, news of his return has reinvigorated rumors and stories about Blackwater Woods and morbid curiosity has drawn quite a few people there just to 'have a look'.

→ Jeffrey Looms, a gas station attendant, was found killed by a co-worker early in the morning. An investigation is underway, but initial speculation is that Looms was an unfortunate victim of an animal attack. The PPPD will release more information as they receive it.

→ Speaking of which, there have been reports and sightings the evening before of what appears to have been large rabid dog running loose in Point Pleasant. Animal Control has been called and can be seen around town searching for the animal, to no avail.

Friday, September 8:
Weather: Cloudy and windy. Around 10pm, a terrible thunderstorm rolls into town and lasts throughout the night; 69°/49°

EVENTS

→ Come out and support your Chamberlain Wolves football team tonight at 7pm as they take on the Ellsworth Eagles. After the game (in which the Wolves win 21-14), students flock to Moxie's Diner for a traditional post-game milkshake.

→ Due to the thunderstorm in the late evening, dozens of homes, including the entire neighborhood of Seaview Village, lose their power around 10:00pm. Power will not be restored until early Saturday morning around 6am. If your home is one of the random homes in town that have lost power, please be careful of the things that go bump in the night... literally. Noises, voices, shadows... it's obvious (right?) that you're not alone, even if you can't pinpoint just who, or what, is in your home with you. Hopefully you've got plenty of candles and flashlights so that you're not left in complete darkness.

→ Regardless of where they are at the time, Jared, Ellis and Amanda will hear the sound of a freight train rumbling nearby. One could point out that it's entirely possible it was just thunder, but the noise is consistent throughout the night with the occasional horn cutting through the sounds of the storm, and on occasion, the train feels so close that it shakes their home. If they have company, they are still the only ones capable of hearing the train, or feeling its effects. Good luck getting any sleep. The "train" finally dissipates at sunrise.

Saturday, September 9:
Weather: Gray and cloudy; 67°/51°
EVENTS

→ Despite the less than ideal weather, there's a street market on Main St. from 11am to 6pm. Various vendors and shops from around town have set up booths to sell clothing, jewelry, produce, crafts and more. There are also kettle corn, ice cream, coffee and beer vendors along the street.

→ Tonight begins the Orion's 8 week Fright! Series. Every Saturday evening they will play a classic horror movie at both 7pm and 10pm. Tonight is John Carpenter's Halloween.

TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, September 3-Wednesday, September 6

Sunday, September 3:
Weather: Mostly Sunny; 73°/41°

EVENTS

→ The Chamberlain High cheerleaders are holding a car wash in the high school parking lot to raise money for the Chamberlain Athletic Department. They're accepting donations of any amount, and they promise you a sparkling clean vehicle.

→ The town is in a titter- over a domestic dispute between Peter and Margaret Rogan that had the police called at three in the morning. Rumor has it Peter was hauled off to the station and Margaret sent to the ER with life threatening injuries. The rumors or more or less true, although Peter insists there was something else another man in the house trying to murder his wife. The State Police are quick to show up Sunday morning and wrestle the situation away from the PPPD.

→ For the church going residents, today is Father James O'Shea's first service as St. Dismas's new priest.

Monday, September 4:
Weather: Sunny with clear skies; 67°/52°

EVENTS

→ Happy Labor Day! The Point Pleasant Labor Day Parade will be making its way down Main St. starting at 10am. Line up along the parade route begins at 9am. Festivities will follow the parade at Pomeroy Park through 3:30pm!

The Back Porch Pub on the pier is having special Happy Hour pricing all day on drafts and appetizers.

→ There is no school today for the students of Point Pleasant. Try to stay out of trouble, kids, won't you?

Tuesday, September 5:
Weather: Mostly Sunny; 72°/60°

EVENTS

Loomis Gifts & Antiques officially opens on Main St. with very little fanfare or advertising of any kind. In fact, wasn't that shopfront vacant and dirty with a For Rent sign on it only yesterday? How strange!

→ Other than that, it's a fairly quiet day in Point Pleasant. However, close to midnight, residents of Seaview Village will hear the unmistakable sound of a train passing through the woods that line the mobile home park behind their homes. Some of them have lived there long enough to recognize the sound as the B&M railway that would often pass through Point Pleasant through the Cooperdale Tunnel. The only problem is that the B&M railway hasn't been used in 14 years.

Does anyone dare to try and hike through the woods in the middle of the night? Maybe it would be smarter to call the police. But anyone who manages to find the tunnel this late will find the tracks still overgrown with weeds and untouched. No one is going to be able to spot the body - or whats left of it - until morning...unless they happen to step in some of it.

Wednesday, September 6:
Weather: Mostly Cloudy; 64°/58°

EVENTS

→ Two older headstones in the cemetery are found desecrated this morning with foul language spray painted in red. One of the graves is partially dug up, as if a dog were digging for a bone. The likeliest explanation would be young vandals, but there is no way to tell for sure.

→ In lighter news, come out and support your Chamberlain Lady Wolves Volleyball team as they take on the Bangor Rams in the Chamberlain High School gymnasium at 7:00pm!

→ Oh, right, and tonight is also the full moon.
