Sunday, September 24:
Weather: Fog, fog, nothing but fog! 62°/58°
EVENTS→Sorry, but the power is still out for most of Point Pleasant. The electric company has their priorities, and getting community buildings back up and running is their number one. It's been difficult with the relentless fog.
→ Some residents of Point Pleasant who have been touched by something 'weird' in town (encountering the Dark Man, playing with Ouija boards, mirror shenanigans, etc) will feel a deep sense of foreboding, like something bad is about to happen, and they can't stop it. AIR subjects and any supernatural creatures will feel the same. How they deal with that is up to them.
Monday, September 25:
Weather: Fog... shouldn't this be cleared up by now?; 59°/48°
EVENTS→Power has been restored to most of Point Pleasant save for a few neighborhoods here and there. This comes as a relief to most, though the electricity is still a bit shoddy, flickering on and off when it's being used. The electric company has advised limited use for the time being.
→ The PPPD are asking people to stay off the roads if they can, due to the thick fog and poor visibility on the roads. They have responded to a handful accidents already, including a few injury accidents. Because of low visibility, school has been cancelled.
→ The silly teenagers who decided to spend an evening summoning the dead will begin seeing a dark figure on and off in the fog. There is no real shape to the being, and the only way they know it's more than just a shadow is the glowing red eyes that seem to be watching them. It doesn't approach, or attack, but it will plague their dreams after their first spotting of it in the fog.
Tuesday, September 26:
Weather: Motherf*cking FOG. Oh, and it's gotten considerably colder; 52°/43°
EVENTS→ Once again, school has been cancelled. This is better than a snow day, at least! Isn't it? Maybe not...
→ Today's fog is not exactly
normal fog... not like it was the last couple of days, anyway. This fog... feels different. And it's going to affect anyone who is brave enough to venture out into it. Within a few minutes of being outside, engulfed in the ominous weather, people will start to feel a little
off. The gut feeling that something is wrong will soon blossom into full blown paranoia and panic, and then, violence. If they're alone, they may hurt themselves from having no target for their aggression. If they're with someone else, they may turn on
each other. This could lead to serious injury, or even death.
There is no reason for their anger, no explanation. They may feel a twinge of consciousnesses that what they're doing is
wrong, but will be unable to stop until they've removed themselves from the fog, retreating into a home, a building or even a car (in which the violence will subside almost immediately). The longer they stay outside, the harder it will be to escape the carnal urge to
hurt something.
The PPPD will be dealing with a lot today and they're still sorely understaffed. They're also not immune to the effects of the fog...
Wednesday, September 27:
Weather: The fog begins to dissipate overnight, leaving plenty of damage and chaos in its wake. The sky is cloudy and gray throughout the day; 59°/51°
EVENTS→The town begins to recover from the past few days, including dealing with any damage left behind from accidents, vandalism and violence. There are more than a few dead bodies the police will have to deal with, among other things. The hospital is also a bit busier than usual.
→School is back in session. Yay?
Thursday, September 28:
Weather: Oh, look, the sun is out. The sky is bright and clear all day long; 64°/55°
EVENTS→ For the most part, a quiet day in town, although the police and volunteers have finally begun to search for missing Danny Valiant.
→ A few agents from the local EPA arrive in the afternoon to speak with the Mayor as well as the Chief of Police to discuss the unfortunate "pollution" that plagued the town over the past several days, causing rather unfortunate side effects. The EPA promises that they'll do everything they can to ensure that Point Pleasant is "clean" again before they depart.
Friday, September 29:
Weather: Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine; 65°/59°
EVENTS→ Tickets for Chamberlain High School's Homecoming dance go on sale today for $20 per student, or $35 for a couple.
→It's a lovely evening, so come out and enjoy some high school football as the Chamberlain Wolves have a home game tonight against the Portland Bulldogs.
→ Those Oujia teenagers are still dreaming about the shadow they saw in the fog, but now their dreams are starting to feel strangely real. If the shadow, or whatever it is, hurts them in their dreams, they'll wake to find a similar injury when they wake. Surely there's a logical explanation for all of it, but... maybe not.
Saturday, September 30:
Weather: More sunshine. Not a cloud in the sky. 66°/57°
EVENTS→ After spending the last couple of days speaking with various residents around town, the EPA team finally pack up and depart.
→The search continues for Danny Valiant, and extends to the Blackwater Woods until just before sundown, but does anyone really expect to find anything?
→ The Fright Series continues tonight with
An American Werewolf in London, showing at both 7pm and 10pm!
→Today is also the first day of Oysterfest at the marina and what a gorgeous day for it! Delicious oysters, wines, microbrews and live music will be available from 11am until 6pm. No pets or outside food/drink will be permitted.
