Hmmm, then if you add the Batman Beyond version where Bruce and Babs hook up ,then you've got trouble. Battle Royal trouble...

Another one of the reasons I didn't like BB. I must be the only person who didn't like the show. Terry's fine but its depiction of Bruce is horrible. I refuse to believe he would turn out like that (or that he would get it on with Babs after she's been with NW).

She'd never been with Nightwing though. Dick and Babs had had an adversarial relationship though they did sort of date in "Sub Zero", Batgirl and Robin had flirted briefly, but she hadn't known his ID.

Bruce told her both their ID's without checking with Dick first (even just a courtesy warning), and Dick left town immediately therafter. When he returned a couple of years later as Nightwing it seems that they never hooked up as a couple in any story we saw. And since Dick has zero profile in BB (A couple of mentions to one side) there's no suggestion they ever did.

" Who's dick grayson ?"

That jacket Terry wears with the Dick Grayson name on the tag. Nightwing is the only person you never learn about in the show. Bruce Timm did say they had a story in mind when show was to have come back after Justice League was off the ground. It involves Terry going to Bludhaven on a case. I can just imagine the "heroes mistake each other for villains fight" Bruce would have just turned up the audio on the cowl came and eaten popcorn...

Even then, IIRC Terry simply asks who "DG" is on the tag, and Bruce doesn't even identify it.

Barbara tells Terry to talk to Nightwing sometime if they want to talk about "Bruce issues"

I think "Return of the Joker" might be the only time Dick is referenced by his own name when Babs is recounting the flashback.

I stand corrected, you are right. :)

Also in the scene where we find out about the Bruce/Babs relationship. Babs said she dated Dick Grayson before Bruce, but that it was "puppy love."

Wait what? When did that happen?

In the episode where Terry finds out that Commissioner Gordon was once Batgirl, she explains that one of the reasons Dick Grayson isn't in Bruce's life now is because when he left Gotham for Bludhaven she left him for Bruce. It wasn't dealt with much beyond that one scene, though alluded to here and there.

In BB, Terry asks who close Babs and Bruce had been, she doesn't say anything but gives him a look and Terry's "Oooooooh!" which she doesn't deny, speaks volumes.

They also show a scene between Bruce and Barbara on the phone during Mystery of the Batwoman.

Yeah, but Bruce wasn't really thrilled by that call either. It seemed like Babs was pushing something Bruce wasn't interested in.

Well, it's one of those things that's fun to enjoy knowing it's not canon in comics. Babs/Bruce is going to be a pretty messed up relationship, especially with respect to their respective relationships with Dick, not to mention Bruce and the Commish being pals.

It's a very pessimistic future, to be sure. But I think that's a big part of why it's enjoyable. It's like "so, where does this trainwreck take us?" and there are lots of interesting stories within that.

Actually, I will say there are some things I didn't enjoy. (The most obvious being that there were only a handful of episodes with Babs. Everything needs MOAR Babs!) I disliked, even when I was younger and it was new, how hard it tried to be "cool" with its "shway" talk and all of that.

But I did like Old Man Bruce. I don't know if it's the Batdickery or just Kevin Conroy, but he was my favourite character.

Is it bad that I tend to lean these days towards Barbara/Ted (even though he's currently dead?) You know back in BoP? ;)

They're both just so... i would say cute but i mean Babs and Ted are. But she and dinah are a different level altogether :) Can you put requests up on the site? I'd love to see more of the babs/ted interaction (be it wen they didnt know it was one another or otherwise) on site. The problem is that i remember the comics vaguely LOL and ive NO IDEA where they are! Did they even compendium BoP yet?

Sadly, aside from a few crossovers (Officer Down, Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive, Nightwing: The Hunt For Oracle, am i forgetting any?) the vast amount of issues between Old Friends, New Enemies and Of Like Minds are still uncollected.
They have a request post once a month, so it shouldn't be too far away, but I'll see what I can scrounge up in the meantime!

I think my Ted/Babs post from S_D 1.0 is still floating around the backup archive. I could go dig it out if'n you like, IIRC it was fairly thorough. (Not to step on your toes if you want to do your own post of course.)
