These are a few of my favorite things...

When Batgirl 1 bites
When Jeph Loeb writes
When I'm feeling sad
I simply read MA Avengers
And then I don't feel so bad

Alright, so I read through some Marvel Adventures Avengers as research for a Peter/MJ story (Plug! So cheap!) and here are a few things I now know I love.

Jan!

Jan-sized hugs! (And Hank likes it, although who wouldn’t like being scrunched up against Storm and Janet Van Dyne?).

Spidey!

The Dark Avengers, MODOK-style!

Jarvis not keeping the Quinjet clean Snakes!

Spider-stand-up!

Logan's squee!

Hawkeye!

Armin Zola's body!

Luke Cage's momma!

Mini-Marvels!

Tony Stark fishing (with science!).

Ka-Zar learning to drive!

Avengers in time!

Tigra's (nonexistent) power over cats!

Spidey's much more fun in this than he is in his own books.

Hell, this looks far better than all of that Dark Reign gibberish.

Marvel Adventures come in handy digest format!

The Marvel Adventures books (Avengers, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, and Super-Heroes) come collected in handy four-issue digests (or sometimes three issues and an annual). You can find them for cheap on Amazon.com, and most of them are even part of this 4-for-3 promotion, buy four and the cheapest one is free.

I should note that these books aren't quite part of a continuous universe. Frex, in one of these pages Spider-Man (who's an adult here) says he's never heard of Hawkeye. Yet in his book, he (as a teenager) teamed up with Hawkeye against Frankenstein (really) and had heard of previously.

I...don't even read Marvel and this is the most awesome thing I've seen since Young Justice.

Right. Getting this NOW!

Also: tags are useful for people who know nothing about a series. *hint, hint*

Thanks loads for posting these!

It comes out in five-issue digests that you can get online or in the kiddie section of the bookstore.

Four-issue digests. Five would be too much awesome for a book to contain.

I saw that preview image before I knew what was being posted.
It didn't really register until I had paged down a couple of times, and I only caught a glimpse.
An orange catlady ordering shirtless, muscley dudes to attack a dark haired woman? Oh god. (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/690409.html?thread=17288937#t17288937)

I've considered posting some Mini-Marvels but I'm not sure how the rules apply. Some stories are posted in different sizes in different issues. I think that Super Skrull one had been both part of a five or six page story and also a single page gag.

Thank you for these. =)

Luke Cage being dragged by the ear by his mother is absolutely gut-busting hilarious! Seriously, there should be more stories with Mrs. Cage; we need more kick-ass grandparents and parental figures in comics like Alfred Pennyworth and Aunt May and Master Splinter.

But I'm a little disappointed in Luke and Tony trying to cheat at the fishing bet. Seriously, whatever happened to "may the best man win"?

It's friendly, except in Marvel Zombies
