Oh man oh man oh man!
I just got the best book. I just got the best collection of many pages that are held together between two covers. I own many books but this is the one I'm posting about today. Come enjoy it with me.

They have other problems, too! What kind of problems, Ollie?

You forgot her birthday?! Oh, Ollie, you're horrible, but at least you're trying!
(i scanned the context for this one because it is adorable)

(see?)

What, you mean you didn't forget? So what happened?

Oh poor Ollie! You were so ashamed of losing the picture you told her you forgot? I'm so sorry! What do you make of this new development, Dinah?

You're having Jimmy Olsen make a new one? How sweet!

These guys really like giving each other presents! And Dinah sure receives 'em graciously!
(It's interesting how there's no subservience implied in that bow, just a polite way to say "hello" and acknowledge a friendship. Whether in the context of the book it's a good thing to teach kids politeness on equal planes or a disservice to teach them words without the proper connotations the word carries (like when i first learned the word "buxom" my pocket dictionary defined it as "pleasantly plump", so i took it as a polite word for a fat person and used it that way!), I can't quite decide.)

What else do you have for us, Super Dictionary?

Batman being a dick?

Check.

I can't decide if the best part of this is how goofy Hawkman looks or Atom hiding in his sandwich!
(is he spying for Batman?)

Robin will do anything for Batman...

...But he never said he'd do it happily! (sorry about the giant flea that apparently snuck in my scanner!)

I can't say anything to make this one better. It's too much on its own.

Look how much Babs isn't enjoying her own party! I bet none of those people are really her friends!
(And is it just me or is she totally a re-colored Catwoman there?)

I leave you with Jimmy Olsen and one of my favorite words.

Aw, Hal looks so dejected. I think I finally see the true origin of the Bruce/Hal conflict, Bruce openly ridicules his ideas. Poor Hal, you've taken far too many blows to the head to be a convincing idea man.

If there's a drinking game associated with the Super Dictionary than I need to know about it!

Everytime Olsen gets a super power take a shot. And never see the cover where Jimmy and Superman have to fight an army of powered Jimmies. You will die.

Oh, well he doesn't even necessarily have a super power there, just a scuba suit and a hungry horde of skellingtons.

Technically it's a superdickery game/joke. Be advised that browsing their archive of covers with hard alcohol at hand may kill you.

Ah, I misread his dictionary with dickery.

And where did you get that Kyle Katarn icon? It's amazing.

I honestly don't remember anymore. I seem to recall it's sized for Jedi Outcast multiplayer, something I never really got into back when the game was new (and have no idea if anyone still plays). I saw it and grabbed it for LJ because, as you say, it's amazing.

My best guess as to what's happening there is that when you leave Kyle alone for a little while with a gun in his hand, he goes into an idle animation. With a laser sword... well, see for yourself.

'Sandwich' is one of my all-time favorites. It's deliciously macabre.

Oh that one is totally fantastic! I'll admit to stumbling upon it while I was flipping from "remember" to "tear", but this book gets you like that sometimes.
Hawkman looks so goofy!

"Robin will do anything for Batman"

Robin's crazy to fight Hulk.
Hulk is strongest there is!!!
It is not smart to fight Hulk.
Fighting Hulk for Batman is insane.

Hulk is going to crush Robin's head with that rock. He is going to smash it until it's flat. Hulk already crushed Batman.

Robin fights for Batman because he has a crush on him. Robin has romantic feelings for him.

I got really lucky on Ebay. :(
It just takes tenacity! If you really want it and are lucky enough, you can get it for under $30 (hell, i almost paid only $6 until another bidder strolled in at literally the very last minute)!

The Atom has a fetish. He has a kink for odd things. He finds pleasure in sandwiches. Hawkman is in for a surprise.

Can I just say that the first scan was better than any/all of the marriage therapy panels in this week's craptastic issue? Nicely done, anti-Kreisberg.

Oh and let's hope the kid who tore the painting was not shot by Ollie, because, GRRRR, he has angggggrrrr issues.

Oh, looking at random postings is just not the same as reading it from cover to cover. You get these weird little inferred storyline threads as you go, about the Batman/Robin relationship, about the Hawkmarriage, about Hal's phobias...it's just totally brain-breaky.

To say nothing of the El Dragon. ;-)

Also, Carter's face is the best thing about the Sandwich one, no doubt.

I think my favorite of these is the first one. "We have other problems, too." Well, no duh. FOCUS, Ollie. You can worry about whether or not Dinah will approve of your choice in pizza toppings AFTER you've put out the fire.
A close second is the 'bow' one "I bend over to thank you nicely." Wow. I don't usually have a particularly smutty mind when it comes to this sort of thing, but considering that this is coming from a beautiful blonde in leather and fishnets...

You are correct. That image is from the first in a (Pre-Crisis) four-issue arc of Batman in which four villains were tried by a court of their peers to determine which one had killed Batman. In the original image, Catwoman is removing a black veil she very dramatically wore to court to indicate mourning.

For some reason, Imageshack overwrote your second image with... a photo of a mural of someone saying "Remember who you are" (And, presumably, that we're all part of the great ciiircle of liiife...). They must have a crazy hosting algorithm over there.
