We need some more awesome up in here!
Which, of course, means it's time for a Marvel Adventures: Avengers dump of...uh... roughly 20 pages or so from 14 issues. First off, we have the MA:A appearance of the ones, the onlies, the Agents of Atlas!

So, Kang screws up the timeline by convincing the 50's G-Men to go find Captain America. A handful of the Avengers who didn't get arrested go back in time to convince Jimmy and the others that Kang's a tool, which gives us this.

They decide to leave Cap where he is and let time go as it's supposed to... 'Cept Ken.

And now, some assorted bits.

(Clearly, all we need is to expose more psycho brain-absorbing robots to Captain America. Ultron would end up helping little old ladies cross the street, yes?)

(The "Snikt snikt snikt snikt snikt" had me in tears.)

And, finally, a little ditty I like to call "Defeat By Squishing!"

I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. At which point, I promptly looked and laughed until I was crying. Heh.

TV show needs one more episode for the season than they have money and/or time for. Instead of shooting a whole episode, they do a couple scenes of the characters reminiscing about past events, and fill up the rest of the time with clips from previous episodes.

Wow, they weren't kidding when they said Quesada Marvel wanted to suck the fun out of all of its comics.

Heh, lots of good stuff, but my literally out loud moment was Peter saying, "No, need plan right now!"

Armored-up Tony drying dishes is surreal.

And here's a souvenir from the State Fair.

They decided to reboot the "team" format in MA: SuperHeroes, with a revamped Avengers team. That one's supposed to be in continuity with MA: Spider-Man and MA: Fantastic Four, so MA: Avengers has pretty much been singled out as being an alternate timeline of what's now considered the MAverse. To which I say boo, because it means we're losing G-Girl and Storm.

I was laughing myself silly until I got down to the comments confirming that this is indeed cancelled/replaced...

Truly this is a bittersweet posting..Like when you start watching a really good show and find out the following week that the network has pulled the plug..:(

And I gotta say I can take losing storm but losing Giant Girl when Jan's been killed off in the other two marvel continuities?!? That's just too much..

(Sigh!) To create so much greatmess with one hand and snatch it away with another..Tis so cruel!

I heard Sue Storm was going to be on the new Avengers team. If they're introducing some continuity then who's taking her spot on the FF?

No idea yet. With MA:FF having already ended its run, it'll probably only come up in passing mention, or if the other FF members guest star.

I guess this is where they got the idea for Cage's heart problem in New Avengers.

Great way to defeat the Super-Adaptoid.

I love the bit where Luke is suddenly petrified on the thought of what his mother would do to him if she ever found out he was cheating on his diet and insinuated she had horns. =)

Any mother that can put the fear of God into a super-being deserves more exposure in the comics.

And Adaptoid absorbing Steve's sense of honor and duty was wonderful.

This version of Spiderman's a million times better than the one they're pushing in the mainstream Marvel universe. See, that's how you do it.

There are some great moments here, all right. I especially like the bit with Tigra getting all nerdy over her spider-knowledge. Also, in no particular order, 'Congratulations, Dorothy', Hulk ringing the bell on the 'guess your strength' thing, 'I'm Wolverine. Kick me.', 'Is Fancy Dan kidding?', Cage freaking out over possibly dissing his Mom, and the gang eating hot dogs together. (Plus, Wolvie's extremely unorthodox method of same.)

See what happens in the 616 when you don't listen to your Mum, Luke?

Also, the whole 'use you as a club' thing reminded me of an old gag on the Goon Show.

SEAGOON: Bloodnok, stop! It hurts me the way you're hitting him.

BLOODNOK: Why?

SEAGOON: You're hitting him with me.

It was mostly an art issue thing. Save the Tigra vs. Rhino bit, which has already been posted here, the art in that issue was pretty bad. Plus, I thought the discussion was funnier than the actual clubbing.

...and ha, that pose in Defeat by Squishing, that's how you do T&A that's actually natural looking and therefore actually hot.

...and damn, I love how witty everything is.

Is the "I can see Asgard from here" a subtle poke of "I can see Russia from my house"?
