Welcome to RPG-Connect! This community was designed as the middle ground for rpg advertising communities on insanejournal. When I was browsing IJ, I came across two types of ad communities: the over-restricted and the under-restricted. To me, most of the communities had lost it's personal touch with the roleplaying world. Here at RPG-Connect, our goal is to help quality players and games find one another. Are you looking for a home to place your character or find a person to fill your roleplaying needs? Do you want your game ad to reach the right kind of people? SIXTH ITERATION
  • ► Multiple events every month

Sixth Iteration is driven by two sides of the same coin: The unwitting characters thrust into a survival scenario, and the Observers who placed them there. As a player, you portray both.

Using a vivid, lifelike simulation, the Observers have been preparing their subjects for their eventual life on a new planet. They test their physical, mental and emotional fortitude, stoke their curiosity and test their patience. How far can they be pushed before they break? What is the secret formula to balance productivity and morale?

Meanwhile, the characters are simply trying to find their way through — To survive, to thrive, to find any answers to why they're there or how to get home. Some days it's easier than others. And now, the simulation has ended and the stakes are much higher.

6I is a plot-guided game with survival elements and ample opportunity for personal storylines and CR. The meta plot steers the ship, but there’s plenty of room for smaller adventures and "slice of life" moments. We're NOT a horror game, although horror elements may occasionally be used on an opt-in basis. As Observers, players may purchase plot elements and "gifts" to further test or inspire their characters in a wide variety of ways — How difficult and mind-bending their experience becomes is up to you. We're a slower-paced game open since summer 2016, and our group is enthusiastic and very friendly.

THE SHADOW BEFORE
On the surface, Point Pleasant, Maine certainly appears to be the kind of idyllic coastal town that every tourist would want to flock to during the warm summer months. It has that welcoming small town atmosphere that draws you in and makes you feel as though you belong. Locals will be sure to point out its gorgeous harbor, cozy little shops, the pollution free night skies, clear and full of stars... not to mention its disturbing fascinating history.

What the locals won't tell you is that for the past three hundred and twenty three years, Point Pleasant has unwittingly served as a nexus for the supernatural, the metaphysical, the evil and the damned. There are plenty who are dismissive of its history. After all, every town has a run of bad luck here and there. So what if Point Pleasant has an unusually high number of missing persons... strange and unexplainable deaths happen. That? That wasn't a monster you saw... monsters aren't real. Right?

Oh, everyone wants to talk about what's happening in their town, and yet no one really wants to talk about it. They're content with going on with their lives, getting through school, making another buck, getting through the day in one piece. But what they don't know is that ignoring the evil won't make it go away. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it, isn't that what they say? Simply put, whatever has been drawing the darkness into their small town is only getting started, and nobody is safe.

The Shadow Before is an original, horror based game set in the fictional town of Point Pleasant, Maine. This game is inspired by various elements of horror and the supernatural, and will include both game wide plots as well as individual arcs. Warning: Mature and dark themes lie ahead.

Across America, just beneath the world we see, exists another world. One full of gods and monsters, of immortals and saints and demons. They walk among us every day and although we don't know it, our every thought fuels their lives.

Nevermore is a well-established, long-running game set in the world of American Gods. This particular game has been kicking around IJ in one form or another for years - at the moment our player base is quite small and so we're looking for fresh blood to come join us.

JOHN ADAMS PREP
On the surface, John Adams Preparatory School boasts an impressive and competitive academic program for the children of the 1%. What people don't know is that half, if not most of the students are preternatural. The school has more brewing beneath the surface than an old order of preternatural hunters alive and well among the student populace.

They brought across the pond hundreds of years ago. Something that's been asleep for a long time. That something is waking up and soon these teenagers will have more to worry about than who to vote for as Homecoming court.

John Adams Prep is a preternatural-themed roleplaying game set in an upscale private school in New York City. It blends concepts from the works of L. J. Smith, Kim Harrison, and others while utilizing premades to encourage a colorful variety of characters. This game is slash and femslash friendly and meant for players 18+.

Fall down the... is a game set in the wonderful whimsy world of Wonderland. Except that its not the Wonderland we all remember from our youth. The Red Queen broke open the rabbit hole expelling Alice from Wonderland and ever since, creatures from other worlds have been falling into Wonderland. Cracks have formed. Decay is seeping in. Wonderland is starting to fall apart and darkness is spreading with each otherworlder that falls in.

Fall down the... is an original character game inspired by Alice in Wonderland with some hits of Silent Hill (or maybe just horror in general) mixed in. We accept characters from any kind of world or background (even fandoms!) they just must be original characters. It's a great place to toss those homeless muses, no tweaking really required!

NEW HAVEN
the return to Willowbrook

Long after being shut down for its cruel experiments, the mutant secret has come to light. During a time of turmoil and transition, the newly outed mutants are looking for a safe haven. A facility built to house such people has long since been abandoned, but the space and technology are greatly needed once more, though this time to aid rather than to harm. With the help of both government and private funds, Willowbrook's doors open once more, though this time with a mutant at the helm. Renamed New Haven, the site is a work in progress, but offers mutants in need a safe place during the coming days while the world decides what to do with the knowledge that extraordinary people live among them.

a new paranormal game
Vampires and Weres have been revealed to the world at large; while witches, elementals, and other creatures remain in the shadows. Portland is plagued by unexplainable phenomena, leaving the lives of both human and supernatural creatures in turmoil. No matter the race, the citizens of Portland have to answer two questions: What is happening and how do they deal with it?

Pacifica seeks to find the answers to these questions.

Apartments For Rent
VACANT. Thoth is an intelligent, measured man, capable of bringing Ares somewhat down to earth. He is a skeptic, though not necessarily a cynic. The two drifted apart somewhat when Ares went away to college, though they did keep in infrequent contact.

VACANT. Raven is Eris' close friend and a paparazzi on the payroll of TMZ. Raven supplies Eris with a good majority of the fodder for her gossip columns and the two get into plenty of trouble otherwise.

VACANT. Giltinė met Hades in Stuttgart, was with him when he discovered his family's past, and had a brief, ill-advised affair with him. They've remained good friends since.

VACANT. Persephone and Xochiquetzal both attended Los Angeles City College, ending up in a night class together. Due to similar interests, they became fast friends and remained in touch after Persephone earned her degree and moved on to UCLA.

Premise:
Five years ago, Pax Letale opened with much fanfare to provide a home to a unique set of clientele in Newport Beach, California. After nearly a year of mishaps, culminating in the death of one of its tenants, the apartment complex was shut down by the authorities after management was considered culpable in what was being called a murder investigation. In time the investigation turned cold case, and no charges were ever brought.

Now, Pax Letale is opening its doors once more. Boasting the tagline, "under new management!," the complex is newly updated to the latest fixtures and ready to cater to customers once again. Though the building offers the latest in amenities and apartment layouts, it's difficult to get a lease. There isn't even a waiting list to be put on. Instead, tenants who do manage to end up living in the building are special — they just don't know it yet. Anyone who does end up calling Pax home belongs there.

Every tenant of Pax Letale is a deity reborn in a mortal form. Those gathered within the complex are close to an awakening, touching the memories of their former selves and realizing once again who they truly are. With this awakening comes dangers in a new form, whether it be from old enemies, those who control the building itself, or from mortals who will throw themselves at the deities' feet for the barest scrap of attention.

To each and every new member of Pax Letale — welcome home.
