Who: Jake and Eva
What: chilling out after working out
Where: Aurora HQ
When: Early Evening
Rating: PG-13
Status: In Progress
They had an HQ now. Which was good, since Jake was practically living here. He was still full of energy and everything, but all of that energy was focused into the task of getting better. It was the first time in his life he had ever been so focused on one thing. And things were still weird. They were moving fast, but Jake was still getting impatient with the sluggish pace of it. He and Eva sparred as much as they sparred with the other members of the league. Jake was used mostly to test the speed of other members. He had gotten good at adjusting his own speed, to hold back and only advance when the league member was ready for it. But Jake had stepped up with other things too. He could throw decently - even though he never saw the importance of accuracy while growing up, when he could just run over and stab someone. He had a good fighting stance and everything his mother and Rylee had taught him as far as fighting went. But the truth was that the Aurora league was still a league of fledglings. They still had an infinite amount of things to learn. Nothing seemed to be enough.
Jake and Eva's exercise - the training - was winding down. What they had spent the last two hours doing was trying to best eachother. Him with his speed, her with her water. And she was good. It became more apparent with each training session. He noticed the growth in Eva more than he noticed the growth in himself. "You're getting good," he commented. There was a slight hum of vibration to his voice, since he spoke while using superspeed. "Maybe if we keep at it, you can one day match my epic level of skill." It was a joke, a jest, and the smile was more apparent in his tone that it was on his face.
