Quidditch Final: Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw

[info]plagued_mods
[info]plagued_logs

A beautiful day for our final match of the year! The sun is shining and there's a nice cool breeze coming off the lake. It's time to see who will win in Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw!

Straight out the gate Hufflepuff are showing some excellent co-ordination and team work. The rapid passing between the chasers is making it difficult for Ravenclaw to keep up! Zacharias Smith takes the lead and scores a magnificent first goal against Ravenclaw!

But it looks like that's the kickstarter Captain Lia Rushden needs! She's straight up the pitch with the Quaffle under her arm! A bludger from Sally-Ann Perks goes wide, Justin Finch-Fletchly is ready to defend the goals but OH! Bludger from Michael Corner forces him to dodge and it's ten points to Ravenclaw!

Both seekers are scanning the pitch but some of the Slytherin students seem to be holding small mirrors and reflecting the light onto the pitch! It's tricky for them to tell if its a snitch or just a patch of light!

After an exciting 25 minutes, both teams are playing their very best to try and pull ahead! They seem fairly evenly matched, with Hufflepuff in the lead by only ten points! But as we all know, the final few minutes of the game can change everything!

Another drizzly day for this Quidditch match, but at least this one isn't as cold! The wind is picking up as these two teams make their way onto the pitch for what many consider to be a grudge match between these two houses! Gryffindor vs. Slytherin!

They're off to a rough start as the Slytherin team go straight onto the offensive. It looks like it's going to be a tough game as Slytherin chaser Sorin Radoslav goes straight for Gryffindor captain Ginny Weasley, almost knocking her off her broom to get hold of the Quaffle! Radoslav to Zabini who shoots off down the pitch towards the Gryffindor goal. He shoots - Gryffindor keeper Ron Weasley flies the wrong way for a block - he scores! Looks like Weasley is a little distracted from the game!

Gryffindor have the Quaffle, but--Oh! Tracey Davies collides with Dennis Creevey to snatch the Quaffle. He's completely off his broom! Dangling by his fingertips! Chaser Ginny Weasley is there to catch him, but the distraction has left Gryffindor keeper Ron Weasley alone against two Slytherin chasers! Back and forth between Davies and Zabini and it's another goal!

Gryffindor Seeker Harry Potter isn't having an easy time of it either. Slytherin Seeker Draco Malfoy is marking him up and down the pitch. Potter sees the Snitch, but Malfoy is blocking! Oh! That's a foul! Cobbing! Excessive use of elbows! The Snitch is gone and it's a penalty to Gryffindor. Saved by Bletchley.

Ginny Weasley has the Quaffle and is heading to the Slytherin goals! Keeper Bletchley looks ready to defend but she's too fast. Pass to Thomas and- FOUL! THAT'S DEFINITELY A FOUL! Gryffindor Keeper Ron Weasley takes two consecutive bludgers to the stomach! A blatant display of Bumphing. The keeper should not be attacked unless the Quaffle is within the scoring area! A penalty to Gryffindor! They score!

Keeper Weasley insists he can keep playing, but that shock has definitely slowed him down, and Slytherin are able to slide more goals past him! The score is currently Gryffindor 120 and Slytherin 240. If they keep this up, the Snitch won't save Gryffindor this time! But as we all know, the final few minutes of a Quidditch match can determine the whole thing!

Quidditch: Hufflepuff Vs. Slytherin

Looks like luck wasn't on the side of these two teams today as a roaring thunderstorm rolls in at breakfast and sticks around until the game kicks off! The wind is howling and the freezing rain is coming down hard as bullets! Lets hope the players have warmed up properly before this match!

Justin Finch-Fletchley has a determined look on his face today folks! Rumour has it he's been driving his team hard and it looks like it's paying off as Hufflepuff Chaser Poppy Caxton scores the first goal!

Slytherin Chaser Blaise Zabini looks determined to even the score though. He dodgers a Bludger and a tackle from Hufflepuff Chaser Nicolas Derek and manages to slip the Quaffle through whilst Justin Finch-Fletchley is distracted by a Bludger from Slytherin Beater Gregory Goyle! Nice team work there from the Slytherin side!

Seeker Draco Malfoy is flying carefully up there. Last match he took a bludger to the elbow, doubt he fancies that again!

Oh! Chaser Tracey Davies takes a Bludger to the stomach whilst trying an under-and-up manoeuvrer! She's slipped off her broom and, ouch! Hit the ground hard! Don't worry folks, it's pretty muddy, doesn't look like she's broken anything! Goes to show you there's no getting one past Hufflepuff Beater Laura Madley!

No sign of the Snitch at twenty minutes in, though how anyone could see it in this dreadful rain is a mystery! The score stands at Slytherin 40 and Hufflepuff 30! The rain seems to be getting heavier and the lightning is crashing around! Let's hope no one catches a bolt to their bristles!

Hufflepuff are certainly playing a more determined game, but it looks like Captain Draco Malfoy has the Slytherin team playing heavy on defence and they simply cannot get the Quaffle through!

But as we know, when it comes to Quidditch, sometimes it's only the last few minutes of the game that can determine the whole thing!

Quidditch: Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw

There's a subdued mood through the crowds today at the Quidditch Match, but we all need something to brighten things up! The frost in the air is going to make this game one of the most difficult of the season!

Things appear to be a little stressed on the pitch today! That weird spell taking over the school has left both teams with a couple of players feeling a little out of sorts. Ron Weasley, Michael Corner and Ophelia Rushden look to be feeling a little weird on their brooms today.

The game starts a little slowly with both teams feeling each other out, looking for weaknesses in each other's defence. Keeper Ron Weasley manages to save the first two attempts by Chaser Lia Rushden to score, and Gryffindor are quick to take the Quaffle back into their hands.

Keeper Stephen Cornfoot misses a shot from Dean Thomas and Gryffindor score the first goal of the game!

Only minutes into the game and it looks like Seeker Harry Potter has already spotted the snitch! Oh no! a defensive block from the Ravenclaw Beater Michael Corner. The Bludger missed, but it looks like Harry's been thrown off and lost sight of the little golden ball!

Twenty minutes into the game and it's pretty evenly matched between both teams. The scores are 60-50 to Gryffindor, though it looks like Ravenclaw are moving into a more aggressive formation.

Chaser Jamie Chambers with the Quaffle, coming along the inside, pass to Lia Rushden, back to Jamie and straight through the hoop before Ron Weasley knew what hit him!

Chaser Ginny Weasley is quick to equalise with a dramatic sweep down the pitch to the Ravenclaw Goal, dodging everything Ravenclaw can throw at her!

But as we know, when it comes to Quidditch, sometimes it's only the last few minutes of the game that can determine the whole thing!

Quidditch: Ravenclaw Vs. Slytherin

[info]plagued_mods
[info]plagued_logs

There's a definite chill in the air today as the second game of the school year takes off! The clammy cold might make it a little bit more tricky to hold on to those broomsticks kids, so cling tight!

The Slytherin team mean business today! As soon as that whistle goes they take full command of the pitch, with Blaise Zabini on the quaffle, darting through the Ravenclaw defense! It's a close save from Stephen Cornfoot, but the Ravenclaw team aren't given much of a chance to rest.

But the first goal of the game goes to Ravenclaw on their third attempt at the hoops! Nicely played Jamie Chambers!

Draco Malfoy takes a nasty bludger to the shoulder! That's slowed him down but he looks determined to stay on that broom! No sign of the snitch anywhere!

Looks like Slytherin Beater Gregory Goyle is going for a revenge play on Michael Corner! A Bludger straight to the small of his back! Oooh, that's going to leave a bruise! Now it's personal!

Slytherin turn the game around with three goals against Ravenclaw. Looks like the Ravenclaw keeper just doesn't have his head in the game!

Ophelia Rushden with the Quaffle! Rolling dodge on that Bludger and it's a goal!

Ravenclaw beaters have their payback on Slytherin Beater Gregory Goyle with a bludger straight to the bristles! It looks like its snapped his broom! He's going down! Oooh, that was a nasty fall. But it looks like he'll be ok.

After thirty minutes of play Ravenclaw have managed to climb back up the scoreboard with 140 points but Slytherin are in close second with 130 on top of missing a Beater! It's a close match. Both captains appear to be driving their team as hard as they can!

But as we know, when it comes to Quidditch, sometimes it's only the last few minutes of the game that can determine the whole thing!

Quidditch: Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff - Game 1

[info]plagued_mods
[info]plagued_logs

You can practically feel the excitement in the air today as the students flock to the Quidditch Pitch for the first game of the year! The sun is getting lower in the sky with the coming Autumn, our Seekers might have a bit of trouble keeping the light out of their eyes to spot the Snitch!

Both teams are out there to make their mark today and it's obvious as soon as the whistle goes. Gryffindor are making shot after shot but Justin Finch-Fletchley is saving goals left and right! It looks like Ron Weasley doesn't have the same spirit in him today as Hufflepuff take the first three goals before he can make a save!

Dennis Creevey turns the game around by scoring first goal for Gryffindor! No one saw the little guy coming!

Eleanor Branstone has seen the Snitch! Oh! A quick Bludger from Luca Caruso throws her off course and she loses sight of it! Well played Gryffindor!

Oh no! Ron Weasley takes a return Bludger to the bristles! Looks like he's having a bit of trouble controlling his broomstick! Nice shot from Laura Madley!

Things aren't looking good for the Gryffindor team after thirty minutes of play with Hufflepuff managing to score a whopping 180 points to their 50! Perhaps putting in novice player Dennis Creevey over Dean Thomas wasn't the best idea from team Captain Ginny Weasley! Both Gryffindor Beaters appear to be doing their best to protect him from the Bludgers and that isn't lost on Hufflepuff Beaters Sally-Ann Perks and Laura Madley, who're taking full advantage and still giving the Gryffindor keeper a hard time!

But as we know, when it comes to Quidditch, sometimes it's only the last few minutes of the game that can determine the whole thing!
