*has really enjoyed having Elrond and his family to stay in Gondolin because it's like the best of both worlds: his home, his husband and his best friends all in one place* *really, is just missing Gil-galad but that would put paid to the lovely peace and quiet*
*on a particularly sunny afternoon, goes for a walk with CelebrĂan and Marigold before stopping at a cafĂ© with them both* *smiles broadly as the waitress greets Marigold like an old friend*
*takes a seat in a nicely shaded part of the outdoor seating area and slips on his sunglasses* *having ordered iced tea (and a bowl of water for Marigold), grins at his companion* So, how have you found our city? |

*okay, so family vacations by definition aren't cool, except that his family is sort of awesome and they're in Gondolin for a week (also awesome)*
*has been permanently bug-eyed since they stepped off the train in this shiny, shiny city* *remembers very clearly the stories Glorfindel and Erestor used to tell himself and his brother, back in the day (Ondolindë the Fair) (lords and banners and the fairest princess of all—your great-grandmother, you know)*
*wanders into the House of the Fountain's main foyer with Elliott at his side, the rest of their family right behind them* *signs slowly, awed* This place is... *shakes his head, his expression finishing the sentence (wow) better than any words* |

*after listening to her mom talk about her new business ideas, talks her up about tagging along on her next trip to Gondolin*
*has a pretty relaxed time on the train on the way down, grabbing her own knapsack as they hop out*
*while waiting for a taxi at the station, slips on a pair of sunglasses which she's decided to practice wearing* *hey, not-fake sunlight* *neat* |

*has been extra excitable since Erestor visited*
*with extra babbling about trees and 'member going on horsies and with Glorfindel too and how come Glorfindel doesn't come for a tea party too?*
*is explained by her mum about Gondolin and how it's all very far away but there's still telephones and maybe we could call instead?*
*sits up on her knees on the big office chair while her mum dials the phone number* |

*latches on to Gil-galad as soon as she does* Oh my Eru, the flight was awful. It was so late. But Buck -- he was the pilot? -- he offered me a ride to the hotel, wasn't that sweet?
*looks around* Oh, I like this place. OK, right, I'm gonna check in and then have, like, a shower and maybe a manicure. Oh, do they do facials here? Anyways, I'll be right back and then we can party.

*arrives in at Menegroth Central Station with Glorfindel after a surprisingly early start to their journey that morning (Glorfindel being only a half-hour late)*
*is in a rather good mood as a result of this unforeseen start (and the ability to pop in his earphones and read in peace (Putting the Fun in Multifunctional)) for most of the train ride*
*rather informally, as they enter the bustling station* So I was thinking we should drop off our things and then meet with the local authorities to find out whether they have any recent leads. *internally debates whether it would be futile to give you a copy of the sample itinerary* How had you considered proceeding? |
