Characters: Tony, Cassie, open to anyone...around?
Setting: The helicarrier
Content: Family friendly.
Summary: Worst best father's day gift ever.
"Sir." The agent froze, staring at his monitor, obviously spooked but without the words to explain why. He shouldn't have gotten the Director's attention before confirming the anomaly, but it was being...difficult. "There's some kind of...we're being approached," he finally decided, looking up imploringly at the Director because that couldn't be right, could it? They were invisible in the sky, for starters, and nothing else had been up there with them for weeks. The entire planet was grounded. Air traffic was nonexistent. And yet this screen was showing some manner of stealth vehicle, too small to get a lock on-- boarding the helicarrier. "Sir, it's here. What's the order?"
On the deck, hands raised as forty guns were turned on him, locked and loaded, Iron Man rocked on his heels and asked, "Is this some kind of initiation?" Granted, he hadn't been on this boat in a while, but he was sure his prior experience carried over. If nothing else, the fact that there wouldn't be a boat at all without him. That had to mean something. So they were a little touchy, who wouldn't be? But a zombie wasn't getting into this suit any time soon. They could talk when some kind of evolution happened and the possessed developed some selective cranial functionality. Until then, this warm welcome was uncalled for. Tony had somewhere to be, and it wasn't on the windy deck of the helicarrier-- that was about as far as his certainties went. Probably not the underside, either, come to think of it. Or the uninhabitable belly. Okay, there were a lot of places on the helicarrier that Cassie probably wasn't, but that didn't make Tony's patience stretch any further. He had left the Raft only a tense 2.7 minutes after throwing his helmet off to puke up all of the festering anger, frustration and despair he hadn't realized he had been choking on as all of the twisted pieces of this affair tightened around his stomach. If that Tiger bitch wanted to stop him from getting back in, he would liquidate that bridge when he got to it. Steve would understand. It had been months, he had been achingly sure she was lost to this plague, and now that he had the chance to see Cassie he wasn't going to let a few details and pea-shooters stop him. Abruptly, Iron Man reached out to grab the nearest barrel and crack it in one rough twist, letting it fall to pieces on the ground as he released it. He would take on this whole fucking army if Nick wanted him to.
