Tony was shaking his head, not because he didn't want to hear it or even that he didn't think she had something to learn from her actions, but dwelling on it now and letting that shame eat at her wasn't necessary, not until she got some distance from it and felt secure and confident enough to learn from it as well as forgive herself for any failures. That was the hardest part. It wasn't as though she needed to come from this not trusting her own judgement, but understanding it better. And he knew her intent had to have been good; she didn't have to justify herself to him.
"Did you want to talk about it?" he offered, brow already creased with worry over how horrible it could have been and what not talking about it might lead to down the road. "Not with me, if you don't want to," he added hastily, knowing well enough that he was the least qualified to offer a shoulder to cry on, but he had a litany of ways to solve the problem. "We could get Cap up here, if you prefer, or Kate. Don't be afraid to-- I mean, if you rather I did, I can ask Fury for one of his team, they have very professional doctors that have heard a lot worse. Not that you need a doctor, but if you feel like you need anything at all, you should ask for it." Now he was rambling, completely separate from himself and felt like he was watching a stranger patting Cassie's side reassuringly and insisting that she take care of herself in a healthy way. Where did that guy come from? Not his house. Certainly not Fury's school of child rearing. That had to be it.
