WHO: Lucien and Regan
WHERE: Outside the Grand Ballroom
WHEN: Mid-morning

Few things in life were truly as refreshing as the summer rain, or quite as punishing; Lucien knew this for a fact. That was precisely why he'd spent the last fifteen minutes idly wandering the pathways between the main hotel building and the ballroom, drenched to the bone yet seemingly unaffected by the sharp sting of raindrops against his exposed skin.

The previous night's elevator fiasco had left him with little desire for company or close quarters, and once the heat of the rising sun had left his hotel room too stifling to bear, he'd abandoned the building entirely in favor of some fresh air. A distant boom of thunder shook him from his reverie, and he scuttled over to the covered patio that wrapped around one end of the building.

Another man had already claimed a spot several feet away, and Lucien lingered by the edge of the patio as he struggled out of the clinging, lightweight overshirt he normally wore to conceal his firearms; fortunately, he'd locked them in the safe in his room for the time being. Clad in soaked jeans and an equally soaked wifebeater, he began to twist and wring the water from the garment, graciously ignoring his companion as they stood watching the downpour.

in the elevator I pick my floor, and if I wanna battle I pick my war

Who: Seth, Finely, Lucien, Lina
When: 6:40ish
Where: one of the elevator cars

Any time at all spent doing nothing - just being lazy and trying not to deal with her current situation - made Lina feel restless. The absolute worst kind of restless, too, and one that physically affected her. It got to the point where she couldn't take it anymore, and if she wasn't trying to figure out how the hell to get out of here, she was still trying to keep busy. So she had decided to go to the gym. Nevermind the fact that she'd been there for two hours this morning, working out just made her feel better. She'd changed into her work-out clothes, went downstairs to grab a bottle of water, and headed back to the elevator. She didn't pay any attention to the other three who got on with her, just hit the two and waited. The doors slid closed, and Lina would have guessed they were damn near directly between floors when there was a boom and the elevator stopped dead. Things went dark and the car wobbled slightly, and Lina instinctively backed into the corner and readied herself for a drop.

It didn't come. Nothing happened. The lights had gone out, the dimmest of red lights popping on instead. The car didn't move. The world seemed deathly silent without the hum of electricity. Lina sighed heavily and looked up at the ceiling. "Ah, fuck."

WHO: Lucien and Nisha
WHERE: Ignite Lounge & Bar
WHEN: Mid-afternoon

A distinct restlessness seemed to permeate the air, and the longer the storm outside raged, the thicker it grew. There was truly no escape from the hotel on a day like this; it was virtually impossible to even step foot outside the main building, let alone the outer boundaries of the facility.

Lucien had spent the better part of the morning in his room nursing a low-grade hangover, and had only ventured out a scant few hours earlier. Not that there was much to see or do that particularly interested him, of course; he just needed to get out of that damn room and stretch his legs.

So it was that, naturally, he'd found himself returning to the scene of the crime. He honestly didn't remember much of the previous night, although he knew it had involved hard liquor and a few inventive drinking games. His alcohol tolerance had developed considerably over long years of practice, and as he claimed a stool at the bar counter, it stood to reason that a little hair of the dog could only help his situation. There really wasn't much else to do, anyway.

WHO: Lucien and Charlie
WHERE: Parking lot
WHEN: Evening, right around sunset

For someone who had spent most of his life running, Lucien was adjusting to captivity fairly well. He'd only been at the hotel for two full days and hadn't yet attempted to leave, mostly because the effort just seemed futile. Waking up after that first night, he'd quickly come to the realization that his stay might, in fact, be longer than he'd intended. He wasn't entirely sure how he was supposed to feel about this knowledge, though to his credit, at least he hadn't panicked and mowed down any innocent bystanders with his car.

Not that he could have, anyway. His beautiful Firebird had really bitten the dust this time, and even close scrutiny had been unable to detect any obvious problems under the hood. He'd spent the last two hours examining what he could of the vehicle's major components, but without the proper tools there was little he could do.

Now that the sun had settled low on the horizon and frustration had set in, Lucien was perched on the curb beside his car, using his thigh as a surface for rolling a cigarette. The air had grown palpably thick as a result of the approaching storm, but it didn't seem to bother him; he was certainly no stranger to heat and humidity, or even vicious storms, for that matter. The only measure he'd taken to combat the uncomfortable conditions was to tug his hair into a middle ponytail. After all, there were few things he disliked more than the feeling of sweaty hair plastered against his neck.
