Who: Samantha and Jamie
Where: Gaia, greenhouse on Deck D
When: Tuesday afternoon
If Samantha was being honest with herself, going by herself to the greenhouse probably wasn't the best idea, but she'd explained to both Jesse and Savannah that maybe it was good for her to get out on her own. After all, when she'd gotten lost she'd decided to go exploring the ship, places she'd never been before. The greenhouse was one place that Samantha knew how to get to and back, and she highly doubted the power would go out a second time. It took a lot of courage for her to step out of her room, by herself, and make the trip to the greenhouse. But for the second time in just two days, she felt the need to prove it to herself that she wasn't as weak as she felt.
Yes, she'd spent the better part of the morning crying, feeling like a baby with Jesse and Savannah to comfort her, but after all that crying she was feeling a little better. Still somewhat shaky, scared that she would get lost again, or worse, that she would get hurt, but this whole thing was about overcoming her fears. She knew that, and she'd promised Savannah and Jesse that she wouldn't stay long. They knew how plants had a calming effect on her, and while her room was close to being a full blown greenhouse, it just wasn't the same as Gaia and Samantha had insisted that it would be better if she went alone. Sometimes she didn't make much sense, even to herself, but she'd also promised herself that if anything made her feel weird she would text her siblings and ask them to come find her right away.
So far, so good. She'd managed to make her way to the greenhouse unscathed, and stepping into it she breathed in the scent of plants and flowers that always made her feel at home. It was so bright and colorful, that even though she was still feeling shaken up, she didn't feel so bad. In fact, it seemed perfect. Making her way to a nearby bench, Samantha sat down, pulling a book out of the bag she'd brought with her. She didn't open it right away, instead just rested it on her lap and stared at the blooming flowers around her, lost in thought.
