Hurray for powers of deduction. Jamie shrugged again with a dismissive smile, “Accidents happen.” Honestly, he was trying to be... How to put it? Well he really just didn’t want it to affect his life any more than it had. There was no reason to let the negativity of the issue invade every area of his being. He laughed a little, shaking his head, “It’s pretty common, promise... Leads to a lot of movies about wounded sports heroes overcoming some kind of odds to do something great.” Not like that was going to happen to Jamie at any point. Or ever in real life outside of the movies despite the ones based on true stories.
Jamie gave Sam a confused sort of look. He really wanted to ask but at the same time, he was pretty sure that if he did, Sam would zip right away. Clearing his throat a little, he just forged on, “I was never that great in school even in high school. Good enough to stay on the team but not much else. Bet you were a whiz though.”
