Who: Reb and Orion
Where: Church
What: Pre-Christmas decorating
When: Late afternoon, December 21
The day was freezing, and Orion had bundled up against the cold when she ventured out to the church. She'd checked her traps that morning and found them empty, not even a skinny rabbit having taken the bait. She wasn't starving by any stretch of the imagination, but now that it was so cold she could always stand to lay in some extra supplies. With offers of food being talked about, she'd ventured away from her camp to see what was available.
The building the church was housed in was being decorated for the season, and the hunter felt a pang of nostalgia as she watched garlands being hung around the doorframe. She'd always loved Christmas as a child, and it had threatened to become a thing of the past with the collapse of civilization. At least this year she might get to celebrate a bit.
It was a little warmer inside, or maybe it was just that there was less wind, and Orion looked around for who was nominally in charge. Maybe she'd stay a while and help pretty the place up.
