THE WALKING DEAD: DAY 1
This week's a huge deviation from the norm in some aspects.

» For most of us, it seems, we're in a world that I'm assuming has been decimated by a zombie apocalypse. We have no water or electricity. The kitchens and clinic have been raided. Even the theater's been picked over for clothing. We are not on the usual Derleth campus. The Green is an overgrown lawn, and the rest of Derleth spreads out from these buildings. Reminiscent of a few other alternate Derleths with full campuses.

» For some, they are on our "normal" campus in the void.

» We can communicate between the two through the network, but that seems to be it at the moment. I would recommend being prepared in case Derleth throws a trick at us and spits one campus into the other, with bonus zombies. It may not happen, but we also haven't had split Derleth's like this so I would be prepared for anything. UPDATE: The TVs on the void campus are showing those of us in the zombie world.

» Butler Hall has returned to what it was when I first arrived: regular dormitories, two people to a room. This could be because we're not on our usual campus. Has anyone tested the wards on the rooms? They weren't working last week. UPDATE: THEY ARE DOWN.

» The zombies, or undead, are shambling so they're slow, but we don't know the layout of this area, so I wouldn't suggest going anywhere alone. You could easily get backed into a corner with a whole bunch of zombies. Most zombie lore says they like to eat human flesh. ~~Need to assess the zombies more.~~

» Magic appears to be on the fritz. So so super powers for some. If you're experiencing this, please let me know.

» One of the Lokis has been missing since the night of the reset. He was not among our people who turned to stone and didn't return from the ball.

I'm asking you all to please not go outside alone, and do not go without some kind of weaponry. Make the least amount of noise you can, and check in with people often.

I've been updating the list of non-fighting skills. Please let me know if there's anything you want to add.

The way it was explained to me is that [...] the Egyptian gods decided they were going to take a really hands off position with Earth. For the most part, they hang out in a pocket dimension and just sort of look over matters, then set up a committee of sorts to make sure everybody tows the line, the Ennead.

Khonshu is one of those that wants to take a more hands on approach. He's the god of the moon and the night sky. And vengeance.

Aaaaand, right now he's kind of inside me.

Never found out why, but at some point they got fed up with the human race. Both, I guess? I was recently told about and met the Ennead not that long ago, but from what I understand, if one of the gods from their group gets out of line, they punish them.

Khonshu had a whole list. We had a deal that he'd release me eventually, but there was always one more job to do. Just before coming here, I thought we were through, but somehow... we're still bound, Steven and I. Usually he's an external force, a spirit that only I can see that shows up around me, but since I've been here, I can only see and speak to him through reflections. I've been avoiding him as much as I can.

Khonshi isn't the chatty type, so we never really discussed specifics, but yeah. Wouldn't surprise me if they gave up on humanity as well.

The Void totally has something to do with it. Because he's a moon god, his powers are connected to the moon and it's phases. The powers he gives me as his avatar become stronger and weaker in relation to the waxing and waning of the moon's cycles. One of the first things he told me was there wasn't a moon in the Void, so no powers for either him or me. Or maybe he still has powers? I don't know. He hasn't manifested anything yet, thankfully.

When we were in L.A. a couple of weeks ago, and also here, because there's a moon I could hypothetically draw on his powers, but I can do it only at night. But I'm also protesting against using them, because we're not supposed to be connected any more.

Wouldn't be surprised. All I can tell you is that my experience with Khonshu has been less than stellar.

The powers work only in night, and when the moon's around. When we've been in the Void, he hasn't been able to do anything. [...] I can still hold my own, though. Was in the Marines, later I became a mercenary.

Funny. [...] We sometimes switch off. If it changes again, we'll let you know. It's easier to tell in person... Steven's got a British accent.

So it's not a great relationship then?

That's a strange condition, that they can't work during the day. But it makes sense, picking someone who can hold their own as an avatar of vengeance.

Alright, so Steven's the one with the Egyptian knowledge, and you're the marine slash mercenary. Any other skills I should know of? Driving vehicles? Languages? Bake a mean banana bread?

He sends me off to do his dirty work, which mostly involves assassinating those who 'deserve' it, keeps leading me on by saying he'll release me from the deal, but then there's always one mission more, so yeah... I'm a bit bitter.

Tell her about the suits and the mad fighting skills.

Yeah, part of being Khonshu's avatar is we get a ceremonial suit, which acts like armor. Steve's looks different than mine. We're practically invincible while wearing it.

We had bloody spears pierced right through us! Also, we recently flew. But yes, I'm good with Egyptian lore, including hieroglyphics and other ancient languages. I'm vegan, if that means anything? And I'm passible in French.

I know some Arabic, and we both know how to drive.

	They were pretty awful people. One of us takes control of the body, and... the other steps back. In the past I'd have blackouts. Days were lost, I'd find myself in weird situations not knowing how I got there. I'm much more conscious of what's going on now than before. I reckon you can call it time sharing? It works for us. Kind of. We're still working out some kinks. (Reply to this) (Parent)
