Third Floor/Roof
At two in the morning, all was peaceful on the grounds of the Xavier Institute. Children were snug in their beds, adults had long since turned off their bedside lamps and put books aside; tomorrow was a school day after all. All over the campus, closed circuit security cameras searched for anything out of the ordinary. These cameras were linked to an image recognition software, really high tech stuff. If anything out of the ordinary crossed in front of them, any squirrel too large, and bug too quick, people would know. But the funny thing with technology was that, no matter how smart it go, living beings would always find a way to be smarter.

If anyone were to look at the security footage being automatically logged and archived they would see a peaceful winter night. They wouldn't see the footprints left in the snow by intruders. The gate was untouched, rendering the call box unnecessary. This mixed lot of humans and mutants knew what they were doing. They'd been planning for a long time and this was not going to go wrong. It couldn't.

A teleporter with a wide range and enough power to transport New York City to Hong Kong volunteered quickly. She hated what she'd become when the cure wore off, hated it more than what she was before. Like the other mutants in the varied group, she believed mutants needed to be eradicated, herself included. If Mother Nature had a chance to start over, she'd be sure to do it right this time. Mutants were like the one-legged baby a mother had because genetics got screwed up somewhere. Take care of the problem, and it had less of a chance of it happening again.

The teleporter gathered a small army around her, then they were sinking through the snow covered sidewalk. The floor inside of the mansion opened up and they shot up through it. There was no sound, thanks to a dampener mutant. There was no sound anywhere on the first floor and the group moved and split up. By the front door, a young girl nodded and took her hand away from the wall, away from a security box. It blinked, went crazy, then went completely blank. She informed them they had fifteen minutes before the security system would be back online and all hell would break loose.

The sound dampener crouched to put his hand to the ground. His eyes closed in concentration. Through the vibrations in the building her could hear, without sound, where every person was, where they were going and what they were doing. Weeks of careful training had him attuned to the vibrations of his team. They were the only ones that moved. He looked at a man standing by the teleporter and shook his head. This man nodded before motioning down one side of the mansion, then the other. He held up two fingers, pointed up, then closed a fist in front of his face.

They came spilling from the stairwell like ants, silent and black into the floors above. Humans in dark camo carrying weapons of every different kinds. Mutants with a plethora of abilities, some looking like the humans they fought with, some with noticeable mutations. This was a suicide mission and everyone there knew it. No one was under any allusions of going home when the night was done. They came to die, and to take as many mutants with them as possible. Xavier's was only the first in a long line of targets. How this ended would determine how future missions went.

Gambit was new to the whole 'School for Mutants' thing. But he was pretty sure the men in camo with large guns and the Ghost Rider wanna-be weren't supposed to be there. Not at - he checked the clock - 2 in the morning.

The thief had always been a light sleeper. So when his ears picked up the tinkle of breaking glass and the muffled sound of gunshot a little further off, he'd been out of his bed and hiding in the shadows. Remy only had time to slip on his duster over his boxers and grab his staff before the military people came in, searching his room. Flaming guy with them.

He waited until the small unit was effectively cut off from the others moving past his room to check the next before silently slipping behind them and shutting the door. It closed with a soft click and was followed by the sound of his staff telescoping out.

The men closest to the door turned around and had their faces met by what was essentially a metal baseball bat to the face. They were out for the count quickly as the dull sound rung through the room. Three well aimed and charged cards sent the other three with guns flying backwards into the walls with explosions that were, perhaps, a little over done. And would certainly wake the neighbors - something that in other circumstances, Gambit would have had a lot more issue with.

Skull boy was the last to turn and the mutant had no idea if there were any real weakness to exploit. A flaming fist of bones came swinging toward Remy and was met with, then batted away by, his charged metal staff. The bones breaking with the force of it and so-not-ghost-rider managed to let out a scream that was totally unexpected from a lung-less man as he stared in shock at his own destroyed arm.

Just a little disturbed by this, Remy's staff took off the man's?... skull... next. The flames disappeared and the bones dropped to the floor.

Some of the human men were starting to get back up from where the card explosions had dropped them. Remy grinned and twirled his staff, "Bon nuit, hommes. Welcome to Chez Gambit. I be Gambit and I'm gonna take good care o' you dis fine mornin'."

More screams were soon to follow from behind the closed door.

Remy slipped silently out of his room, spotting Marie as she was punching what looked like thin air. She looked like she had herself well taken care of. But there were students in on the floor below and while Gambit was sure the teachers up here could handle themselves... he wasn't too sure on the kids.

So while he didn't avoid fight's per-say, he take the easiest venue to the second floor: the window at the end of the hall. Gambit ran for it and it shattered to an exploding card, giving him enough space to jump through it, spin, grab the stone work outside to catch himself and let him hang for a moment. In that moment, another card broke the window below and then the nimble man was flipping through it....

Rogue woke up with the men hitting the walls. She'd been so deep asleep that any dreaming she might have been doing wasn't even memorable. Had the sound not been so loud she would have dismissed it as something she'd been dreaming but this had been too loud, too close to not be real. Tearing her blankets back, she sprang from bed and opened her door to see the back of someone she didn't recognize rushing past her. In confusion, she stepped out in the hallway, then quickly back into her room to avoid the butt of a gun being smashed into her face.

Ducking, she sprinted out into the hall and turned to punch the guy in the face. He came right back at her, swinging his weapon as though it were a club. Rogue got in a punch to his ribs as she swerved to miss being struck again, then found her legs being taken out from under her.

There was no time to think about what was going on or why. Memories of the Stryker attack came to mind, re-imagining all the secret ways in and out of the mansion.

She looked around for whoever had knocked her down; the human she'd been fighting had run off in another direction. Rogue got to her feet and was immediately punched in the stomach, then kicked backward. She hit the wall with a grunt but fought to stay on her feet. There was no one there. She was fighting someone invisible. Wonderful.

Taking a bold step from the wall, a fist met her mouth and she tasted blood. "All right. Now you done pissed me off."

She could feel the building rage. This time it wasn't something she would fight. This time she would embrace it. For a moment it looked like she'd given up, just standing there and taking one hit after another. But it was fueling her. When the enhanced senses came, it was an immediate recognition. There was blood in the air and it hurt her nose. people everywhere were screaming. The smell of gunpowder and toxins were nearly overpowering. And she could hear the movements of her invisible opponent.

He went to hit her again and she reached into mid-air, gripping his invisible fist and squeezing. A feral smile split her face. It was a wolfish grin, not belonging to her. "You picked the wrong girl t' mess with, bub."

Emma woke to a series of disturbances and a simultaneous outpoor of fear and emotions throughout the mansion. She was not alone in her room. Two men in paramilitary garb had automatic weapons trained on her. Something was interfering with her hearing, but should could read their surprise when they saw he was up. She was sleeping in a camisole and panties, and was diamond before they even had the triggers all the way back. She didn't love the diamond form, as it affected her real abilities as she saw them. She didn't really need to read their monds, they had fired on her in her bed, and would have done so as she slept if they could have.

It wasn't long before sound returned. She had already silently crushed the chest of one of the men, and heard the metal of the other man's gun snap it her grasp. She went flesh again. She could deal with one unarmed human. She got what she could from his mind before he connected a scared right hand to her ribs. These weren't people who expected to leave the building, and that was the most dangerous sort. She was not knew to the fight however, and she could function even while taking punches. Alan Doyle of Queens wouldn't be punching her anymore, however. He wouldn't even be trying to. Emma disconnected his voluntary motor functions, or at least any understanding of how they worked. He could sit and breathe and watch and hear, his body could relieve itself as it was already doing, but he wouldn't be walking, or talking coherently, or using his hands other than reflexively.

Emma pushed the door closed and moved quickly to cover. They had a psi of some sort... precog on the floor. She had tried to warn the two men, but she wasn't all that concerned about them, really. Emma felt the surprise in the woman when it came to her what would be happening. The first hing Emma did was remove that knowledge. The second was to put a disconnect in between what she saw and what she said. The woman would miscommunicate everything she saw. She was no longer an eaaset for the wrong team.

Paige had fallen asleep in one of the guest rooms on the third floor earlier that evening, needing the quiet in order to study for a test she had coming up at the college. That was the only reason that the blonde was waking up to explosions on the third floor and not being slaughtered in her room on the second floor. Thank God for her studying habits and her need to do well in school. It might have been a habit that saved her life. But that explosion had, in fact, woken her up from her uncommon bout of slumber and had put her on immediate high alert. Her training kicked in just time for some camo-wearing, gun-toting person to come barrelling into her room.

Had Paige's adrenaline not been pumping through her veins at that moment, she might have been frozen at the sight of the gun in the man's hand. But as it was, she only barely registered its existance as the man who was about twice her size tried to use it in an effort to put her out of commission... in the wrong way. He should have just shot at her, because in a matter of seconds, Paige delivered a painful gut kick to the man's stomach that dazed him and followed it with a clothesline to his throat that put him painfully out of commission... and probably without the ability to speak for awhile after he came to. Paige tried not to kill if she didn't have to, and once she had this guy out, she used the cord on the desk lamp to tie him up... hog style. Might be a good idea to question him once he got his nifty little voicebox back in working order.

Popping her neck, Paige took hold of her shirt and skin and pulled. A sshhrrriiiip could be heard as she pulled both her clothing and her skin from her body, revealing underneath it a layer of metal that she was used to changing into. It may not speed her up, but it added to her strength, her hardness... and it was bulletproof, which from the looks of her hog-tied little prisoner was something that was going to come in handy. And speaking of that little machine of death, Paige took it and broke it in half over her knee in an effort to keep it from being used again. She was terrified of guns, but in this form, she had a little control over that. If only for an hour.

When she took off out of her room, it was at a lunge, taking two more soldiers with her as she slammed them hard against the wall and knocked their lights out. She really didn't want to kill anybody, but she knew if she had to, then so be it. They put themselves in this situation. And as she turned her head, she saw Rogue down the hall just a bit and noticed that the way she was reacting was different than what Paige was normally used to seeing. Still, she reminded herself that they'd put themselves in this situation and that they had to know what they'd be getting into. She took the time to take the guns and break them, then left the two men on the floor.

When she stood up, she was surprised at the gut kick that she got from the man she hadn't seen come up on her. And it had hurt. Sure, the metal came with good durability, but she still had nerves. And those nerves felt pain. "Hey! Didn't yer mama evah teach ya it ain't nice ta attack a woman?" she snapped, her accent present and accounted for in her pain and frustration at the current situation that seemed to be going down. Paige's worst nightmare came true when she was fired at, even if it only dented the metal she was made of. She was dazed, frozen long enough for the man in front of her to give in and essentially use his gun as a baseball bat swinging for her head.

It snapped to the side and brought her back to her senses. The little blonde who usually fought with her emotions detached suddenly let loose in a fury. Her arms shot out with a cry of disbelief and fear, effectively slamming the man hard enough into the opposite wall for him to crack his skull on it and hit the ground. A good kick to his ribs was delivered, as well as a stomp on the gun. She was done playing nice.

Essex had gotten to the mansion earlier that night. He and Laura had been given a room by Mrs. Munroe, and the three had a preliminary interview scheduled for the morning. The woman being polite enough to offer the two a bed and some time to sleep in consideration of the hour at which the arrived.

Laura had immediately gone off somewhere and Nathaniel hadn't particularly been worried or cared. The child could handle herself on the school grounds.

But the doctor found himself being woken to the sounds of explosions and gunfire and basically what appeared to be a war zone. He fell out of bed and used it as cover as his door was kicked open and the intruders didn't bother looking for a target before firing a spread across the room.

Emma moved out to the hall. There was a lot going on. She saw Paige Guthrie, and was surprised she was on that floor, but comfortable in the girl's abilities and ceaseless training. There were still too many threats on the floor, too much going on all around. She was dropping humans with ease when a shimmering fist connected with her flesh and bone jaw. She was knocked down the hall and lashed out with her mind. Static. Bio energy of some sort. She could probably break it if she had time and cover of some sort, but times like this sometimes required the most direct courses of action.

Emma went Diamond as she got back on her feet. "First one's free bitch. You want another shot, you're paying for it." She closed fast with the other woman. She launched a series of punches that were blocked. She changed her strategy and went to defense. She let the haymaker come in and ducked it before launching into a choke slam on the woman, putting her into the floor. The woman was shaken, but not out of it.

Paige didn't really know what was going on outside of her own little battle for a moment or two, but when she finally came out of her focus on the man she'd slammed into the wall, she saw that another door had been kicked in. She wasn't certain whether or not someone was there or not, but she did know that they had to be taken care of. If someone was in there, there was a good chance of them needing medical help after that round that the idiots just put out. And Paige was already seeing red at the moment. So when she came up behind two of them and knocked their heads together hard, she neglected to really register the sound of two skulls cracking against each other.

A hard side kick to leader's ribs was delivered by the metal woman when he turned to see what happened to his cronies - apparently the sound had not escaped his ears - and he was taken care of with a swift stomp. Three more guns were put out of commission. It was obvious to anyone watching that this girl had an issue with guns... especially since she was taking the time to make sure they were unusable. And a swift investigation of the room had her noticing the man behind the bed. She moved towards him to start looking for any wounds and, upon finding none, looked at him with opaque eyes. The order came flying from her lips before she could stop it, and in a situation like this, she wasn't going to. "If ya cain't fight, an' yer okay too, get any kids out. You'll find an evacuation tunnel on tha second floor at tha end of tha dorms. Take them through that an' wait there fer someone ta come get ya."

She pulled back, glancing at the door again. "Ah'll covah ya til ya get to tha stairs. Aftah that, move quick an' take out anyone in camo as ya go" Grabbing another body that passed by the open door, she knocked his head hard against the door frame and took his gun, tossing it back to Essex. "Take this if'n ya want it." Although as she touched the gun, a look of disgust tempered with fear crossed her metallic features.

Emma continued to beat against the woman's aura as hard as she could. From the noises her opponent was making, at least some of the impact was getting through. The other woman was strong, but not even close to Emma's strength in that form. Her attempts to throw Emma off of her were not as fruitful as she had hoped.

Emma finally had the woman down on her back. Emma's knees into the woman's shoulders, and she rained punches down on her until she flickered. It was clear Emma was getting through. The field dropped, and Emma went flesh as well. First she traced the ability and cut her off from it. Second she removed her ability to harm others. Once she was well lobotomized, Emma stood and did a scan of the grounds and beyond. It seemed the police had been alerted. For the most part students had been lead to safety. Emma thought she should go to the front in case the police found themselves in any danger whenever they finally got there.

In any other situation, Nathaniel would have given the girl a glare and dressed her down for ordering him about. But bullets flying and no way of protecting himself changed the terms of their present relationship greatly. He caught the gun and headed downstairs, keeping away from the fighting as best he could while making his way to the tunnel and getting the heck out of there.

The last time the school had been attacked, Stryker's men had come in from every angle. There were students and faculty on every level, fighting and trying to protect one another. It was hard not to stay and do the same, but as Ororo ran outside and lifted into the air, she reminded herself that this was a time to show trust in the others' abilities. She had her own job to do and if she were pausing to aid in every skirmish she'd never get anywhere.

The roof was free of recognizable faces, and this came as no surprise. She was soundless, the wind swirling around her giving the mutants no particular fear or worry. They had been told to wait to act until they needed to, and so they waited. Too bad they didn't know what it was they were waiting for.

The wind gained in velocity, biting and chilling with its cold. Clouds blocked out the stars and lightning came quick and uncharacteristic to the sky. At her command, the lightning struck the mutant with metallic appendages and he was dead that very instant. The others began to move, looking for the source. The shifter was the first to see her, and leaped into the air to take on the shape of a Pterodactyl.

It became a sort of wind dance then. One charged, the other swerved, the other lashed out and the other avoided. All too quickly it appeared as though Ororo were surrounded by flying creatures of every kind. She couldn't tell what to go for, and she wasn't aware that the images were being produced by one of the mutants on the roof.

Once she'd safely led Essex to the stairwell, Paige had returned to the battle, except she'd run straight through to head to the roof. If they'd managed to get to the third floor with no one hearing them, there was only one way, she figured. And so Paige made her way to the roof, taking out four more of the idiots on the way. There was no way she was leaving an open door for the idiots they hadn't faced yet. That would be complete idiocy.

Once there, she took in the scene before her... and winced as she felt her time limit pop up. This was going to suck. Massively. But still, as she watched Ororo take on what looked like an army of winged opponents, Paige wound up completely nude on the rooftop for a couple of seconds as she tried to regain her stamina. Husking back to back always seemed to take it out of her, but seconds after peaches and cream Paige made a comeback, the skin was ripped away to reveal an odd transparent type of metal that she'd only husked one or two times before. With the cover of night and Paige almost transparent - damn thing came with the ability to see her organs. Sure, it might be an anatomy or biology professor's wet dream, but it definitely was not helpful in her current situation - self, she moved as quickly as she could on top of the surface towards her first victim.

The sap didn't know what was coming at him as he turned a fraction of a second too late. Paige hadn't been trying to be quiet, but she thought maybe she'd be caught at him before that. Instead, she delivered a double fisted blow to his head that had it snapping to the side. He'd been standing a little too close to the edge because with that one blow, he lost his footing and went right over the edge. One more on her list of things to ask forgiveness for later. Death was a bountiful fiend tonight, it seemed. And Paige, she found, was almost on his list of clients as she was shoved hard from behind. Luckily, she managed to react quickly and grabbed the edge of the roof to keep herself from falling.

Reaching up, she grabbed hold of the first thing she could in order to pull herself up and immediately felt her energy leaving her. But she tried harder, pushed herself and managed to make it to the rooftop before she found she was gripping a bubble gum looking thing. "Thanks fer tha help, pinky," she panted, letting go and backing up as much as she could. Things were not looking well... and she needed to get away from the piece of mastication.

As she propelled herself back with her hands and feet, she managed to barrel into the illusionist, effectively ending his little magic show around Ororo. She appeared to be a regular comedy of errors tonight, didn't she?

The hallway had the look of being cleared out but Wade knew that wasn't possible. There was always someone willing to fight and to die for their beliefs. And these fools had come prepared. The stair well to the roof showed signs of damage and Wade wondered momentarily if he was really needed here. That was when he spotted the group of men storming up the stairs ahead of him. It seemed that backup had already been dispatched to the roof. "Oooo! Happy happy joy joy!" His little outburst caught the attention of the group of men. By the time they turned to level their guns, it was too late.

The quartet of soldiers and Wade burst from the rooftop exit. The men flailed in mid air as Wade's blade went to work. He left no man alive and by the time the four corpses hit the rooftop, he was already moving forward. His boots made an awful racket on the roof as he took in the scene. "Let's see... ROLL CALL! Floating Alicia Keys; Check! Bubble Gum Tate; Check! Skinless Hottie; Check! Child like sense of wonder and blood lust? Checkity check check check! Time to kick some--WHOA!" Deadpool cried out as his feet came out from underneath him. He landed with a squealch on top of human flesh that seemed to have been peeled from someone's body. "EWWW! EW! BAD TOUCH! BAD TOUCH!" Like a kid that fell ass first into an ant bed, he scurried off of the discarded human flesh.

"My god, I'm so disgusted I can't even think of a good pun. Oh well, no skin off my nose." Wade grinned under his mask and proclaimed for the whole roof to hear "AND HE'S BACK LADIES AND GENTS! It's not perfect but it'll do. Like Sarah Jessica Parker's nose. Oh NO he Di'nt!!" Deadpool kicked the flaps of skin back onto the dead bodies. A string of curses nearby drew his attention and he caught sight of the skinless hottie knocking over a tangerine colored man with spikey hair. "Holy dragonball z, batman!" Deadpool moved forward as the illusion caster turned to attack the invisible man reject. He dislocated the man's knee with swift kick and the murderous mutant dropped to his knees with yet another cry of pain. Wade grabbed the man's hair and with a savage blow, jammed the blade of his knife into the back of his target's head. Blood poured from the enemies mouth and Wade tossed him to the side. He caught sight of a pink blob moving at him.

"Oh no you don't Bazooka Joe!" Wade jumped into a round house that would make Chuck Norris proud. His plan went south when Dubble Bubble caught Deadpool's foot in his stomach and threw him to the ground. The merc landed with a thump on something hard and metal. He looked down into the skinless face with a dopey grin concealed under his mask. Wade's head was spinning. "Hi! I'm Deadpool. I like classical music, long walks on the beach, and decapitating that special some-whooooooa!" The Wrigley's mascot pulled on Wade's bound leg and the merc slid down Paige's body, racking his chin on a metallic breast before being tossed into the air. "Waaaaaaaaa-hoooo-hooooo-hoooo-hooooooooo!" He cried out in his best Goofy impersonation; not like he practiced that or anything.

Deadpool twisted his body in air, much like a cat would, and squeezed off an entire clip at Hubba Bubba. Unlike a cat however, Wade landed with a sickening crunch. From his spot on the roof, he groaned out "Hachi...Machi.." Pain coursed through the man's body as he ejected the empty magazine and replaced it. "Alright Bubble Yum. It's time I start playing for realsies." With a string of curses, Wade climbed back to his feet, ready to resume the fight.

The very second the illusionist was out of commission and she could see her intended target, Storm pulled every lightning bolt from around her and aimed it at the pterodactyl. When it literally exploded and was sent raining down on everyone still on the roof, she realized it had been overkill, but she was also pissed enough to not really care.

Looking down, Ororo saw Paige and someone else she didn't recognize fighting against what was left of the mutant army. During her areal fight she'd seen the energy dampener get a hold of Paige. This mutant was not her intended target.

Winds swirled around her in gale forces making Ororo the center of a beautiful and deadly tornado tunnel. With the rampage of carnage already on the roof, it appeared Ororo had been forgotten. This almost made it less enjoyable when her tornado touched down on the roof, sucking the energy dampener into it's unforgiving winds. He was hurtled high into the sky and shot so far away that it would be awhile before he touched down. The landing would not be one he'd live long enough to remember.

When the guy in red fell face forward into her steel cleavage, Paige wasn't sure whether to be amused or absolutely mortified. Especially when he was listing off his likes like it was a dating circuit and they weren't in the middle of a fight for their lives. And Paige had no idea who this guy actually was. He'd just shown up, taken out two of the bogies and then fallen face first into her chest... only to be pulled down her body by the thing that nailed her coming up. This was too surreal... and kind of on the creepy side.

Still, part o her thanked God that he took out two of the fuckers they were fighting, and that Ororo took out two more. That left the chick, the guy and the brown thing. Paige hopped up off the roof's surface and took off after the guy - who seemed to be changing color as he moved as if trying to keep up with what he was passinig. It only took a split second for him to mess it up and that was when Paige lunged, knocking him into the roof's surface hard. She landed in a straddled position over the guy and, with her hands on his head, slammed it hard into the cement. It was oddly satisfying to hear and feel that crack as his head hit the ground. She'd need to talk to someone about that, probably.

As he squared off with the energy dampener Wade could hear, in the back of his mind, the perfect music for a roof top battle: Michael Jackson's Beat It. Winds howled all around. As the funnel of wind swooped down, Wade smirked. The gale force lifted the energy dampener from the room and hurled him through the air like a rag doll. The merc grinned and lifted the bottom of his mask to spit out a glob of blood. "That'll do Gray Bush." He raised his eyes up to Storm. "That'll do."

From somewhere behind him, Wade heard a battle cry and instinctively he ducked away. Wade was quick but not quick enough in this instance and the attacker's blade left a split in his costume; a line of red beneath that. "Well well well, what do we have here? If it ain't the prettiest belle at the ball!" The girls small, lithe form vanished again. "Teleporter. That usually spelled trouble for anyone going up against those wascally foes. Fortunately for our dashing hero, he had spent a brief afternoon as one. All the tricks of the trade were now his. It was one part of the reason he was so. Damn. Good. That and I can belch my ABCs." Wade scanned the roof top. "I also know that every amateur goes for," Deadpool spun quickly and aimed a wide kick behind him about level with his waist. The blow connected with something solid and the girl stumbled backwards. "Don't fuck with the Jedi Master."

"Jedi master?!" Came a laugh from what Wade had previously mistaken for a mound of shit.

"Uh yeah. I'm Han Solo. Master Jedi and lover extraordinaire. You can be Greedo." With that last quip, the merc leveled his Glock at the brown lumpy guy and fired a few shots. A rush of air and what sounded like static herald the arrival of the teleporter. Her attack threw Wade's arm to the side. The first bullet nicked the creature's shoulder and the subsequent bullets slammed into the roof. However the teleporter wasn't expecting a quick reaction from Wade who jerk his arm in and buried the blade of his knife into the woman's side. She gave a cry of pain and disappeared, taking half of the blade with her. "Aw! What the fuck?! That was a Jen-You-Wine Ginsu knife! I woulda been able to cut through a can after all this!" Deadpool huffed out a sigh and threw the blade away. "No respect." He adjusted an imaginary tie, much like Rodney Dangerfield.

"So what do you say Gray Bush?" He called out to Storm high above. "Or you, Clearasil? Trans-lu-cent woman? Ultimate Sue Storm? Help me out here with your name. You guys want dibs or should I take our friend dancing?" Deadpool approached slowly, sliding the gun back into its holster. "Or should we go for doooooooor NUM-BER TH-REEE?" He pulled one of the katana from the sheath on his back. "We run a train on this dipshit."

Ororo landed gracefully on the roof, her white eyes unreadable. With Deadpool standing where he was and Paige finishing with the mutant she'd slain, they formed a triangle around the last mutant. She didn't know exactly what he could do but decided the time to act with caution was long passed. If they acted as one solid team it wouldn't matter what his mutation was. They could take him out in seconds and be done with the whole ordeal.

What she hadn't planned on was the teleporter coming back. She popped up right beside the brown lump of...mutant...and popped out of sight the next, leaving the three of them alone on the roof. Ororo's eyes regained their brown and she immediately looked at Paige. "Are you all right?" Soon enough she was looking at the man standing there with them. "Who are you?" There was no time for niceties, especially with strangers invading her school.

Unfortunately, questions would have no time to be answered. The teleporter, knife still in her side and all, appeared above them on one of the high ledges of the attic windows. Either she threw the brown blob at Deadpool or it launched itself at him willingly, but Ororo moved quickly. The metal in the woman's side would help her find her. She turned her face skyward and lightning flashed around them wickedly. With a feral cry, the teleporter reappeared and launched herself at Paige. She got within only a few inches, pulling the dagger from her side out to try and hurt Paige with. Lightning struck and the teleporter was no more.

"Who am I? Who am I?! Is that one of them rhetorical questions?" Deadpool's head cocked to the side in response to Storm's question. Did she not know who he was? "I'm Deadpool! Merc With A Mouth? Beat Box Extraordinaire? The Y.M.C.A. Air Guitar champion three years running? No? C'mon! I'm getting my own movie! How come nobody in this 'burb knows who I am?! And here I thought Quesada was shoving me down everyone's throat." Wade ran a hand over the top of his skull like one might run through their hair. He was clearly exasperated at the lack of respect. "Or did you mean in the grand scheme of things? Sheesh, I volunteer for some knee capping and Gray Bush is getting deep on me. Shoulda expected that from Dumbledore here."

The large brown blob hurled forward at Wade with a war cry. "Oh! Right! We're in the middle of a fight and I'm waxing philosophical. Boy is my face red! Well.. beneath the mask." Deadpool darted to the side to avoid what he assumed was the Blob's brother from another mother. "Whoa there tubby! Slow your roll and let's rap. I can be 2pac and you can be Biggie!" The merc doubled back, avoiding a swipe from the dampeners fist by inches. "What's that? You want to be Lil Kim? I Dunnoooooo. How's your booty dancing skills?" The merc flipped over the mutant and swiped the sword at the creature's legs. The sword dragged through brown goop and what he assumed was muscle and bone. "Make that booty clap! Make that booty clap!" The murderous mutant cried in pain and rage and continued his assault, taking the merc by surprise. The blow knocked Wade back and he rolled over his head to gain decent footing. "That's not a punch!" Wade began in an Aussie accent. "Now this is a punch." The masked merc reared a leg back and planted it right in the family jewels. "For our audience members playing at home who aren't familiar with that colloquialism, he means the balls." Deadpool said with a snicker. "Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk!"

The blobby mutant keeled over and the merc spun the sword with a flourish. A smirk passed across his features and he embedded the blade deep into the attackers shoulder, pinning him to the roof. The dampener cried out and Wade removed gun from the holster strapped to his thigh. "And a groan rises from the audience as our participant is eliminated. But dooooooooon't worry folks! As usual, we still allow audience participation!" A steady hand leveled it at the mutant's face. "Yay or Nay folks?" Wade's free hand held a thumb out, it wavered back and forth as if not sure whether it would go up or down. "Does little Jimmy live to frolic with a like minded manure pile OR Does he pay a visit to our good friend Maury the Mortician and his comical band of dancing skellingtons?" The thumb still wavered and he looked to Storm and the translucent hayseed for their input. "Cast your votes now." Deadpool finished stage whisper.

"Deadpool." Ororo said his name more like an over than as a way of getting his attention. She'd made her way over to Paige to help the blond to her feet and was watching the strange mutant as he...continually talked at a rapid pace. Now the dampener was pinned and as close to being out of fight as a person could get. She waited until Deadpool was actually looking at her before saying, "You've been hurt. Why don't I take you to one of our medical staff so they can look at that shoulder for you."

She was confident in Paige's ability to take care of the mutant. In any normal situation, Ororo would have done her best to try and remedy the entire thing with as little violence as possible. But these mutants had come into her school, terrorized and tried to kill people she cared about. it left little room for pity.

"Paige, take care of him and then get over to the secondary facilities. Those kids are going to be scared and they look up to you as someone older and more experienced." She touched Paige's cheek gently. "And for my sake, make sure someone gives you a clean bill of health."

She looked at the dampener quickly before turning dark eyes to Deadpool. She needed to know more about who he was and where he came from. Most importantly, why he was helping them. Maybe she'd be able to question him while Hank took a look at his shoulder, if he'd left him.

Now that was new. Someone actually showing him what would, in the merc world, pass for concern? Usually when he showed up at someone's house and did his Jim West impression, people spat at him. "Wicky wild wild." Or they called the cops. Wankers. But this was an entirely different situation. He was being invited inside the mansion for tea and crumpets! medical attention? Unnecessary but surprisingly nice. "Wow. Is this what it's like to be one of the goodie-two-shoes? Knee capping charlie and free health care? Welcome to Obama's America!" Deadpool looked from the pathetic excuse for a mutant pinned to the roof of the mansion and then back to Ororo. She was passing the buck off to the see through chica. "Fuckin' hardcore." Wade spun the gun on his index finger and slipped it back into his holster.

"Well I could use a lollipop. And Pesci knows it's been ages since someone told me to turn my head and cough. Fingers crossed that your sawbones has KY for the thermometer. I've been clenching since I iced those fruitcakes on the front lawn." Deadpool stooped low and tapped the nerve dampener on the forehead. "Try to keep the death rattle to a minimum. Kay?"

"Alllllllllrighty then." Deadpool stood and turned his back on the mutant and walked toward Ororo. "Let's go see this Croaker of yours." As Deadpool passed the transparent girl, he looked back at the muscles readily visible. "Nice gluts." He gave her a thumbs up and started for the stairwell. Hopefully Gray Bush would show up and lead him in the right direction. "You guys got hot pockets?"

((OOC: Would you like to keep going from here or should we start a new thread? Or just hand wave it and say it happened?))

Deadpool and OTA!
[info]notbaraka
2011-01-18 06:22 am UTC (link)
Deadpool stood at the sidelines while the team entered the building. Everything about the situation seemed soooo...unnatural. He was a killer through and through. That much was certain. But watching a mutant and human suicide squad go marching into a school, intent on killing every potential girls-gone-wild candidates in there was beyond the pale. How could he stand by and let this happen? Something deep in his blood pump was clenched tight as if he was experiencing that long forgotten feeling: Constipation Guilt. But that couldn't be the case, right? Guilt was not something he felt. Ever. In fact it had been years since he had experienced that particular emotion ever since he inadvertently caused the cancellation of the show Wings.

"Oh this is fucked. This is so fucked!" Deadpool provided color commentary as the group infiltrated the mansion. The mansion he had spent the last few weeks watching. The residents who he had viewed from afar. They all were in there. How could he let something bad happen to Skittles? Rerun? Little Oprah? Jazzy Jeff? And Erkel. He'd miss Erkel most of all.

"But you wouldn't have to if you stopped all of this!" Came Wade's voice from a very unusual outlet: His hand. His hand was speaking to him. As his thumb moved up and down in a pantomime of speech, it dawned on Wade how much he needed these people. Where would his life be if he lost the Pam/Jim relationship between Skittles and Little Oprah? Back in the monotonous routine of the worlds best merc is where. But maybe there was room enough in the crazy sitcom that was his life for both aspects? Protector and merc? "Of course there is!" Hand-gela piped up.

"Hey guys!" Deadpool called out to two mutants nearby. "You dropped these!" He stooped low and tossed two small objects to a fat pink man and someone he knew had the ability to cloud people's minds. Deadpool dashed passed those two leaving them staring at the objects he had thrown. As Deadpool moved passed, the grenades exploded in their hands, sending shrapnel everywhere.

The dual explosion heralded the arrival of the merc with a mouth as he burst through the first floor window. "DING DONG! AVON CALL-LING!" His hands removed weapons from his body and he proceeded forward with a large hunting knife in his left hand, a glock in his right. Wade moved amongst the soldiers like a red and black Tasmanian devil. "Hey! I know you guys! Call of Duty right? Heeeeee, I said duty!" The hunting knife left a deep gouge in one man's throat before thrusting itself into another man's torso. He squeezed off several rounds, dropping the group of men with ease. From there, Deadpool dashed up the stairs, his foot falls heavy on the wood floors.

Deadpool slammed the knife into the wall and his feet ran up the wall opposite. He pushed off from the wall and soared over the head of another soldier. The merc landed in a roll and came up on a knee and emptied the clip into that soldier's groin. "OOooooooooo! Head shot! That's what I'm talking about!" Wade scanned the hallways for any other enemies and when he couldn't find any, he climbed higher. He burst out onto the third floor and readied another clip. As he did so, he whistled the theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. "Not it on The Ugly!"

It was almost as though Rogue's consciousness had taken a backseat to the Wolverine within her. She was enjoying this chaos and the damage she could do with this rage and strength that wasn't hers. It didn't take long to get a good and proper grip on the invisible mutant. She grabbed him by the neck and squeezed, crushing his larynx in her hands. It felt like eggshells, too soft and brittle. Now dead, the mutant materialized in her hands. A boy, probably no older than eighteen. Somewhere inside she felt pity.

As the dead mutant slumped to the floor, another one in red and black came up from the floor below. Rogue flung out her fists, three metallic claws tearing through the skin by her knuckles on each hand. She stalked toward him with her chin down and wildness in her green eyes. He was not recognizable, which meant he was an enemy. And unless he told her otherwise, she was determined to see him get as dead as they others.

A woman with two long swords came up behind the mutant, sneering and ready to strike. All at once Rogue realized he was on their side, maybe someone she'd yet to meet since being there. She'd been living in her room pretty much since she'd gotten there anyway. Her hand moved without thought, claws going in and palm outward. She could feel the pull of the molecules through the air. It was like stepping in the ocean for the first time. There was so much power here within her that had been dormant since it was absorbed. Now it was there and ready to be used.

The swords flew from the woman's hands before she could strike, Rogue catching them easily and twirling them like she knew what she was doing. "Swords," she murmured. "How medieval of you."

Weaponless, the woman screamed her outrage and decided the smart thing to do with her free hands was to aim a punch at Deadpool. She needed to get to her fallen comrades. All she would have to do was touch them, and their army of evil could continue their slaughter.

"Oh hosanna! Rufio's come to my rescue!" Wade cried out as he caught sight of Rogue's magnetic manipulation of the other woman's sword. He flinched as the sword flew passed his head and into Rogue's outstretched hands. Something down below stirred at the sight of Rogue spinning the swords like she knew what those overgrown toothpicks were for. "Well slather me in butter and eat me like a biscuit! Wait... did I use that southern phrase right? Alton Brown better not have lead me down the wrong path."

"ARRRGH!" Came the cry of the enemy still behind Wade. He turned just as she threw the punch and the spun to the inside of the attack. The fist danced just passed his jaw and his hand, still holding the blade, shot up. The point dragged across the woman's carotid artery, blood spurting forth. A moment of panic crossed the woman's face as she grasped at her neck. "Hey Mikey! I think she likes it! Nothing like trying to stop a monsoon with just your meat hooks huh?"

Deadpool spun his body again, bringing him directly in front of the resurrection machine. "Much cooler code name than Alfreda, bee tee dubs." The merc muttered and he slammed his foot straight into the girls chest. "Right between the twins! Triple word score!" The power of the blow threw the girl back and she tumbled for sometime. Her body teetered on the edge of the stairwell before gravity made the evil mutant its bitch. With a feeble cry the attacker tumbled end over end down the stairs. "In the immortal words of Kimberly Hart, 'Have a nice trip! See ya next fall!'" Deadpool gave the falling woman the finger.

"Welllll, this is awkward." The merc with a mouth began as he came around to face Rogue, "Here I am, in your debt for the assist and I represent Anna Paquin's firm and blemish free derrière. Can you say Conflict of Interest?" His head quirked to one side. "You can't? Sound it out with me now, 'Taaaaaaaaaaaaaakeeeee MMmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeee Nnoooooooowww, Waaaaaaaaddddeee'" Deadpool gave a bemused little chortle and shrugged. "Well, Shoooooot. I've never been one to turn down the request of a foxy lady with swords."

Deadpool, I'mma let you finish, but ...

While Deadpool played with the female mutant, Rogue used her new weapons to take some some of the humans who were playing with guns. It was alarmingly easy to move and use the swords, almost feeling like a choreographed dance. One man down, another, then a woman. She was starting to have as much blood on herself as those who were now lying in pools of it. One of the humans, she couldn't tell it if was a man or a woman, took a shot at Rogue before trying to run down the hall. In turn, Rogue threw both of her swords. They found their mark in the human's back and she fell to the floor with a wet thud.

Turning, she saw the female mutant go tumbling down the steps. As the unfamiliar mutant before her spoke, a look of confusion crossed her face. "Who the hell are you?" The question came from genuine curiosity, from the part of Rogue that still had control. her attention drawn behind him, she grabbed him and told him to duck. She flung out her hand and sent a ball of ice into the face of another human. He crashed into it with full force, then fell to the floor, unconscious.

"Listen, whoever you are, you head up to the roof. I haven't seen anybody go up there but I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't more of 'em up there." She winked at him. "Nice moves, by the way."

"GULP! Be still my beating pigs heart! A woman who knows how to tango and order me around? Looks like sitting on Santa's lap twice as long this year really paid off!" Deadpool chirped as he looked up at Rogue and then to the mutant who had taken an ice facial. "Still can't poo right though." Wade muttered to himself more than anyone else.

"The roof? The roof?! The roof is on fire?!" Deadpool jumped back to his feet and rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "You got it sugar pants." The merc called back to Rogue and he started off down the hall again. He had to find the exit to the roof and while he searched, he continued singing "We don't need no water, let the mutha fucka burn!"

Shaking her head and not bothering to hide her amusement, Rogue watched him go before making her way downstairs. Paige passed her and she turned only quick enough to see the blonde heading up on the roof as well. Good. if things were taken care of on the floors below, she 's be up on the roof in no time as well.

Threnody found the third floor, heedless of what violence still occurred. Her wail drowned by the sound of her followers that crowded and choked the halls with their forms. Just standing, following, calling her name as she fed.

When the last of the death was gone and the last of the bodies joined to her growing chorus, she turned once more. Heading down. To the smell of death.
