Gambit was new to the whole 'School for Mutants' thing. But he was pretty sure the men in camo with large guns and the Ghost Rider wanna-be weren't supposed to be there. Not at - he checked the clock - 2 in the morning.
The thief had always been a light sleeper. So when his ears picked up the tinkle of breaking glass and the muffled sound of gunshot a little further off, he'd been out of his bed and hiding in the shadows. Remy only had time to slip on his duster over his boxers and grab his staff before the military people came in, searching his room. Flaming guy with them.
He waited until the small unit was effectively cut off from the others moving past his room to check the next before silently slipping behind them and shutting the door. It closed with a soft click and was followed by the sound of his staff telescoping out.
The men closest to the door turned around and had their faces met by what was essentially a metal baseball bat to the face. They were out for the count quickly as the dull sound rung through the room. Three well aimed and charged cards sent the other three with guns flying backwards into the walls with explosions that were, perhaps, a little over done. And would certainly wake the neighbors - something that in other circumstances, Gambit would have had a lot more issue with.
Skull boy was the last to turn and the mutant had no idea if there were any real weakness to exploit. A flaming fist of bones came swinging toward Remy and was met with, then batted away by, his charged metal staff. The bones breaking with the force of it and so-not-ghost-rider managed to let out a scream that was totally unexpected from a lung-less man as he stared in shock at his own destroyed arm.
Just a little disturbed by this, Remy's staff took off the man's?... skull... next. The flames disappeared and the bones dropped to the floor.
Some of the human men were starting to get back up from where the card explosions had dropped them. Remy grinned and twirled his staff, "Bon nuit, hommes. Welcome to Chez Gambit. I be Gambit and I'm gonna take good care o' you dis fine mornin'."
More screams were soon to follow from behind the closed door.
