Up on the roooooooof!
The last time the school had been attacked, Stryker's men had come in from every angle. There were students and faculty on every level, fighting and trying to protect one another. It was hard not to stay and do the same, but as Ororo ran outside and lifted into the air, she reminded herself that this was a time to show trust in the others' abilities. She had her own job to do and if she were pausing to aid in every skirmish she'd never get anywhere.
The roof was free of recognizable faces, and this came as no surprise. She was soundless, the wind swirling around her giving the mutants no particular fear or worry. They had been told to wait to act until they needed to, and so they waited. Too bad they didn't know what it was they were waiting for.
The wind gained in velocity, biting and chilling with its cold. Clouds blocked out the stars and lightning came quick and uncharacteristic to the sky. At her command, the lightning struck the mutant with metallic appendages and he was dead that very instant. The others began to move, looking for the source. The shifter was the first to see her, and leaped into the air to take on the shape of a Pterodactyl.
It became a sort of wind dance then. One charged, the other swerved, the other lashed out and the other avoided. All too quickly it appeared as though Ororo were surrounded by flying creatures of every kind. She couldn't tell what to go for, and she wasn't aware that the images were being produced by one of the mutants on the roof.
