At what point have I lived in the wizarding world long enough to tell the lot of you that the ballpoint pen is nearly sixty years old and is not a technology to be afraid of? If you dislike the idea of brios, may I suggest fountain pens with refillable chambers have been in existence since the 1850s. Heck, even dip pens are better than quills. Less likely to get broken.

This is brought to you by the fact that I am pretty sure I've gone through half a dozen quills in the last two weeks.

I think I might have gone out on a date? Only I'm not sure if it was a date. But it kind of felt like a date, only we weren't the only ones who went out for a drink.

[Monte]
I had a good time over drinks Thanks for inviting me When's the next Falcons game?

While the bus is based on the old number 11, it doesn't actually have a motor.

But shark-logic doesn't care. We've also got wireless and adverts but no telly. It's a crazy mish-mash of unsupportable technologies crammed together based on no logic at all.

You want Biros? You can't be logical about it, you have to use shark-logic. Figure out how to make them trendy. Get Rita Skeeter to endorse them. Or maybe to anti-endorse them. Get Gilderoy Lockhart to make a statement that he only signs books using genuine FF-brand Biros...

That's how you get Biros.

There is logic behind it. Satellite signal picture compression is very difficult to get through most household warding; it doesn't reassemble correctly.

You're telling me that we can't match 1920s muggle technology? Or run antenna wires outside our wards?

one train. Runs twice a year.

one bus. runs nightly. not during the day or to-or-from centers of work.

Yes but then you'd have to feed the wires into your house which would still pass through the warding. Warding is designed to scramble fundamental patterns of energy.

I'm not saying that a moving-picture like endeavor isn't out of the question. But they system can't work like... what is it? Sky?

To use a buzzword I learned when I was pretending to be a Y2K repairman, we just need to poke a pinhole in the firewall...

Not what you'd think, despite the descriptive name.

It's a part of a castle designed to stop a fire, not a wall made of actual fire. So the kitchen could burn down without risking the toffs.

Autos have them between the engine and the passenger compartment, so that the people don't die of the fact that they're being pulled by an explosion machine. In cars, they have holes in them for wires to go through, but not enough to kill everyone inside. Mostly. I've only read about cars.

That is fascinating! I wonder what it's made of that it doesn't just melt the barrier. I'll have to add that to my list.

It's an incredibly exciting field (HA) of study. Insulating electric fields from magical induction is one of those grail-type pursuits.

We could do different colours. Plus different inks. How many do you think we need?

Maybe start with a dozen or so for each quidditcher interested? Especially if we are going with the signing things angle.

I can get those. Different colours for different players? Should we get their names? Anything written on the pens?

Gel pens, please?

As for slogan we could go generic for everyone or let individuals have some customization. Although it's probably easier for them to all say the same thing, the colors be unique.

It's probably easier to get names on pens than have to get different colours for all the players.

yep. You all only sign autographs with neon biros and then give the biro to the fan.

Then you get Seeker Weekly to do a piece on a collector who has one from ever muggleborn player...

You might need an unforgivable for that last part, but hey, might as well design the campaign we want.

I think we could manage the first one, although it will have to be a hard pass on the unforgivable.

Certainly a way to get our brand out in a way that might actually be a positive change.

I can only imagine what a wizard might look like trying to figure out a computer, which is not quite on topic but certainly amusing.

You would get the typing aspect, but miss a lot of the interaction. Although I suppose the journal network might ease that transition a little.
