It was a strange day that Augustus had to take the day off for Quidditch... HR had given him a strange look for it. But he'd promised to go to the Pride match and bring Kal so that all of his friends from the Study Group could get together for Maggie's father's birthday.

Augustus was in his usual pink for a match already (which was a shirt), and a pink scarf. He arrived with Kal with him, holding hands. He spotted Hamish and Dani in the crowd, and he led the way. "Hi, we're here," he said announcing their presence. He didn't notice the purple shirts right away. "Where's Charlie and Gina?" he asked. And paused for a moment. "More importantly, where's Muir?"

Kal wasn't quite sure what to expect from Augustus's friends, except that so far they all seemed nice—and like that all had big personalities. It helped that she was already familiar enough with Dani, and that the two had been working on planning Augustus's birthday party together.

She was wearing a Catapults jersey leftover from her days on that team, and had accessorised with a pink scarf and hat. She gave the two at the seats a little wave and a hello, but let Augustus do the talking.

"The answers to those questions are the same," Dani said brightly, digging through her increasingly-smaller pile of party favours to retrieve theirs. "Charlie took Gina as a shield for retrieving Muir. I'm sure he's busy working the crowd. By the time the match starts, everyone here will know exactly who we're representing.

She held out Augustus's shirt and Kal's button. "Put these on."

	It's probably easy to spot Muir minutes before he's arrived at the group (with Rhona and Gina and Charlie, who is mostly in one piece!) He announces his arrival by calling out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" and gestures at his braw new shirt, then at the nearest person. Please form an orderly line for hugs! He's grinning from ear to ear! Watching these exchanges with amusement, Hamish always appreciates when the Pride play the Cats because of Muir and Rhona. But suddenly, Gina is thrust into his arms and he’s temporarily distracted. “Oh am I the lucky one?” he asks Gina. He’s not going to argue.

Muir’s busy gifting out hugs, so Hamish greets Maggie’s mum. “Hello, Rhona! How’ve you been?”

	Kal watched the expressions on the others' faces as they went in for hugs from Maggie's dad, and she couldn't help giving Augustus a rather wide-eyed expression. She'd gotten a tiny bit of warning from him about the man's enthusiasm, but she was starting to wonder if he'd downplayed it a bit. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Augustus was still trying to get over the shirt that was handed to him. "Really? Awkward? I need to advertise that?" Augustus looked at Dani but she was already gone and preoccupied with Charlie being back. Which means that Muir was going to be coming back. Augustus can't escape a hug! "Cheers, lad!" Then he turns to Kal, who he doesn't recognize, but is AWFULLY close to the wee healer and wearing a VERY SPECIFIC button. "Magaidh mentioned a lass in your life." And she'd told him everything, but this was an obvious invitation to share just as much as he was comfortable. Which was... probably a lot less than Muir ahd been told.

	Oh well, hug survived. He could still breath and talk! "Oh, yes. This is Kal Sharma, my girlfriend," Augustus said introducing her. "Kal, this is Muir MacDougal, and his wife Rhona as well. They're Maggie's parents," he explained because he was obvious with introductions like that, especially with the team medic's dad on Muir's sweater. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Kal sees the man's eyes drift to her button and feels her cheeks go warm. She shifts her head in such a way that her hair falls over her shoulder, conveniently obscuring the button. She can't help smiling brightly at Augustus's introduction, though, because she hasn't stopped feeling a little giddy every time he calls her his "girlfriend."

She shakes Muir's hand and thinks—for about half a second—that she's going to get away with that, and then she's pulling pulled into a hug. He squeezes tight, and he's so happy and enthusiastic that she squeezes right back.

"It's good to meet you, too," Kal says when she pulls back, feeling a little while she's had a run-in with an opposing Beater, but otherwise no worse for wear. She can't help putting one hand on her hip as she turns back to Augustus and poked him in the chest. "You and your friends? Are weaklings." Then she laughs to show she's teasing, and leans in for a quick kiss on the cheek.

	Augustus actually laughed because of course Kal had been fine and no worse for wear with the hug. She was a beater after all. With the impressive arms. He blushed that he got a kiss on the cheek right there in front of Muir. But he was still grinning like mad. "Thanks. I like her too," Augustus agreed. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
