It's "bring-your-own-subtext" Frodo/Sam, and by that I mean here that if it was anyone else, it'd be slash; but Frodo and Sam share that intensity of love canonically, and in canon... well, there's room for doubt and taste. And it's "canon fic", by which I mean it's fic based squarely on canon occurrences, merely elabourating on what happened and could have happened.
