[And she turns to stare at all the brightly lit machines, all the various noises they were making from music to strange sound effects. Her attention starts to go to one with what appears to be a wheel on it and pedals on the ground. Staring at the demo screen, she can safely assume it's a strange way to control what appears to be a vehicle on screen. There's no such invention in her world, at least on wheels, so to her, it's entirely fantasy.]

How does this game work?

[ Oh, that machine. One of the set he shorted out on one of his first visits to the arcade. Awkward. Touma drains his soda and throws it away before he's tempted to set it down anywhere NEAR that cabinet.

He approaches it with a little hesitation. ] That one the score's a lot simpler. You just have to win the race and try to do it in a better time than the others.

[ Though she seems to be giving it a rather curious look for someone who...

Oh. Wait. He's seen that sort of look before. ] You don't know how to drive, do you?

Oh, so it's timed...

[And she still stares at it, all so foreign to her. And at his question she simply shakes her head.]

I don't. Usually driving is done by the person who holds the reigns for horses who are pulling a wagon. Or even for someone steering a boat. I'm afraid this is unfamiliar to me.

[She looks at him expectantly, as if she wants him to sit there and show her how it's played. She's not really one for trial and error herself.]

Oh. [ Touma scratches his head. "Horse-drawn wagons". What era is she from? Well, that could mean she's either from the country — though she doesn't look it — or from a different time period and thus would have no idea who he is or where he's from.

Possibly.

Maybe.

Best to keep playing it safe. ] Well, I could show you, but there's got to be something less complicated to play... [ Shooting game? Not a fan. Claw machine? Too frustrating. Dancing game? Too embarrassing.

...giving up on that, he just slides into one chair and reaches over to pat the other. ] Have a seat.

Less complicated?

[Maybe this game is as hard as it looks, but he seems to want to play it anyway. Following his direction she takes a seat next to him, a foot on each pedal as if to test them out, and then her hands gripping on the steering wheel. Well, the wheel is the easiest part to figure out, but she still decides to see how easy it is to maneuver as is spins the wheel in a full circle, then lets it go to see that it returns to its original position...

Huh...

The pedals, she imagines she'll figure out soon enough.]

[ He watches her take the controls. At least she looks like she'll pick up on those quickly.

Leaning over, Touma points out the little instruction plate and then, using that as a guide, explains the basics. Steering is obvious. That pedal makes the car go faster; that one slows things down. Ignore the gear shift since we'll be running on "automatic" to make it easier.

Then he'll point out she has to stay on the track marked with the colored borders, or her car will move really slowly, and just follow the other cars to know where to go next. ] —all set?

I believe I am!

[The explanation was nice, but she is more focused on the instructions themselves. It's easier for her to learn by reading than by explanation, but somehow it did help clear up some of the questions she may have had by him explaining the basics. And she's glad they don't have to use that gear shift because it honestly looks really confusing.

Hands gripped on the wheel, she looks determined now. Ready, set, go! And the races start!]

	[ She actually gets a bit of a head start, as he has to settle back into his own seat and only then can he get going. Touma takes it easy, not trying to be as competitive against the computer-controlled cars as normal. [She’s handling the controls rather well, however it’s all still new to her as she speeds up to quickly trying to take a turn, thus not taking it smoothly and going off the road. It takes some correction but she is able to get back on while she goes in last place. It’s not disheartening for her, in fact, it’s fun as she presses on the gas pedal once more to catch up with the cars, this time learning to use the break around the curb, though she hits that too hard as well coming to a complete stop.

She’s slowly getting it…]

[ Splash! goes the car.

One moment of inattentiveness and he managed to steer himself right off of a bridge and into a lake. Between the delay of being towed out and put on the track, as well as being set back to before the bridge began, the girl is no longer in last place.

Sigh. He doesn't give up, though, and actually gets serious when it comes to playing catch-up. It was a matter of pride, now. ]

	[Okay, next turn she's coming up to, just gently press the break and, ah! She got it! Now she's drifting the corner once more as she then pushes on the accelerator catching up to the next car. Won't do him any good when he comes in dead last though, just by virtue of being so far behind. He laughs as the race's final stats show. ] Well. I'd say that makes you a natural at this. [ Bit of a smirk, he looks to her, hands behind his head as he reclines in his seat. ] Are you sure you've never played this before?

	This is the first time I've ever played such a game. [Of course she didn't win either or get within the top half of the race, but she believes she picked up on the game rather quickly. Just a matter of trial and error and figuring a few things out along the way.] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[She's a rather fast learner once she figures some basics out, and well, she sees him getting out of his seat and she simply smiles.] I can play this by myself, right? [ Touma pauses, internally very thankful that she just clarified that he didn't know her after all. Amnesia was inconvenient, so it's nice when he can avoid being obvious about it and risk putting himself in that kind of awkward position.

Without thinking, he shakes her hand as normal. Nothing reacts with Imagine Breaker, much to his relief. ] Touma Kamijou. Nice to meet you, Estellise.

Have fun with the game. [ Said with a small smile before he turned to leave the arcade. ]
