DAY 365 — Anniversary Festival Mingle

Happy Day 365, Marina Nova!

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

Sector 5 Gamegrounds: What better way to show your bravery than by participating in a series of tests of strength and cunning? Sector 5 provides the inmates with a chance to try such varied sports as varpa, caber tossing, ring toss or the very dignified sport of rövkrok, a type of wrestling that requires skill as well as no sense of shame. Not tough enough for you? There are also friendly foam weapons and armor available for those who want to engage in a chivalrous bout of hand to hand combat, test your archery skills — or maybe convince another prisoner to give you a piggyback ride and go jousting!

Competitors that do well enough and show outstanding bravery may be rewarded with a handful of rehab points, or a personalized pennant — or maybe a kiss from the lord or lady of your choosing!

Less violent activities: Not into skewering your neighbors on spears? Maybe you'd rather relax with a game of knucklebones, pick up sticks or Nine Men's Morris. Boards and instructions are readily available in several areas. If you're more creatively inclined there's also activity tables on offer where you can create your own coat of arms, bind yourself a flower crown or learn the art of illumination.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. Whole roasted pigs and poultry, wild rabbit in plum sauce, thick beef stews smelling of rich saffron, roasted vegetables (no potatoes here, no sir!) and cream-stewed cabbage for the vegetarians among us. If you're still hungry there's saffron pancake, ginger and clove cookies or bread pudding with raisins for dessert. There's plenty of mulled wine, honey mead, foaming beer, honeyd applewater and lingonberry juice to wash it down with. Enjoy!

Dance: As is custom, there will be a dance at the beach at the end of the day. Great fires will roar and a band of robots will strike up music suitable for dancing! Dress up in your finest satin and velvet, brush the extrement off your shoes and grab a partner!

Enjoy!

[How rude!!!]

While there might be someone who possesses the same name or title, it cannot be a replacement for someone else!

Not a replacement, but another version of you.

If there is someone who is claiming to be me they are an imposter!

[ Sorry Kitty, this is just so confusing.]

They'd also look like you in this case. At least in part. [Could be younger, older, different hair style, scars, bionic legs, fetish for leather. Who knows.]

What are you getting upset about? There isn't actually another you here as far as I know. I'm just saying they exist somewhere.

I do not acknowledge this impersonator no matter where they are at.

[He wont allow someone to get away with trying to mimic one of the dragon warriors, it is sacrilegious, surely the gods will punish this pretend him!]

[She's just going to give you a look for awhile. Settle.]

Up to you. [See if she explains more things.]

It's not really something that requires warning. They aren't full of evil dopplegangers. [Well, they could be.] They're just people.

[MRRRR. With a breath he does what he can to calm down, though.]

These look-a-like aside... [ Double mrrrr ] I hope that you are enjoying the festival. It is unique.

Yeah, it's okay. Probably my least favorite of these anniversary festivals. I liked the one with the ferris wheel. [She has some powerful ferris wheel memories okay?] But there's always a dance so not all bad.

A Ferris wheel? [It's clear he doesn't really know what it is.]

Perhaps a wheel could be found here among the festival games?

No, it's a giant, moving wheel with benches on it you can ride. It's probably hard to picture if you've never seen anything like it.

Like a large wagon...? [He's definitely at a loss]

Like a wagon's wheel only much, much bigger and suspended on a device that keeps it off the ground and rotating in place.

I will confess that we also do not have libraries at home. Is it the same as the vendors here?

The library here would be a little confusing even if you did have them at home. It's a place full of books, organized by category. You can check as many as you want out, but after a little while the content of the book will change. Not your average books.

. . . More technology magic. [S-Sigh] I will be sure to read them quickly, then.

If something is technology it's probably not magic and vice versa. I mean, it happens but it's usually one or the other. [The mistletoe bots are both.]
