DAY 365 — Anniversary Festival Mingle

Happy Day 365, Marina Nova!

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

Sector 5 Gamegrounds: What better way to show your bravery than by participating in a series of tests of strength and cunning? Sector 5 provides the inmates with a chance to try such varied sports as varpa, caber tossing, ring toss or the very dignified sport of rövkrok, a type of wrestling that requires skill as well as no sense of shame. Not tough enough for you? There are also friendly foam weapons and armor available for those who want to engage in a chivalrous bout of hand to hand combat, test your archery skills — or maybe convince another prisoner to give you a piggyback ride and go jousting!

Competitors that do well enough and show outstanding bravery may be rewarded with a handful of rehab points, or a personalized pennant — or maybe a kiss from the lord or lady of your choosing!

Less violent activities: Not into skewering your neighbors on spears? Maybe you'd rather relax with a game of knucklebones, pick up sticks or Nine Men's Morris. Boards and instructions are readily available in several areas. If you're more creatively inclined there's also activity tables on offer where you can create your own coat of arms, bind yourself a flower crown or learn the art of illumination.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. Whole roasted pigs and poultry, wild rabbit in plum sauce, thick beef stews smelling of rich saffron, roasted vegetables (no potatoes here, no sir!) and cream-stewed cabbage for the vegetarians among us. If you're still hungry there's saffron pancake, ginger and clove cookies or bread pudding with raisins for dessert. There's plenty of mulled wine, honey mead, foaming beer, honeyd applewater and lingonberry juice to wash it down with. Enjoy!

Dance: As is custom, there will be a dance at the beach at the end of the day. Great fires will roar and a band of robots will strike up music suitable for dancing! Dress up in your finest satin and velvet, brush the extrement off your shoes and grab a partner!

Enjoy!

[ Ahoy, matey. Former neighbor here to say hi and maybe just scold you a tiny bit for not joining in the fun wholeheartedly. ]

You're no fun.

No, putting up with Jack's reaction to me wearing tights all day would be no fun. [Well alright maybe a little fun but also kind of exhausting to deal with after awhile.] Seriously, try and imagine the comments.

[ Give her a moment- ] -Oh my God you've totally convinced me. Good call.

Thank you. I thought the shirt was a frankly brilliant solution. [He loves Jack but he can be exhausting to deal with at times.]

Very clever. [ You need a gold star, sir. ] Are you having fun, though? Despite the lack of velvet tights?

Somehow I'm managing to entertain myself without them. And you? Are you having fun?

So much fun! Apparently I have a talent for ass wrestling. If I thought there was the slightest chance that you'd say yes, I'd challenge you right about now.

There is not the slightest chance, I'm afraid. Have you tried asking Jack? It sounds like his sort of thing.

Oh, I probably should. Do you think I can take him? [ Inside information, please! ]

I think if you use enough innuendo while doing it you could probably distract him into losing. [Its his go-to strategie for dealing with Jack.]

Sneaky! And a little underhanded! I like it. [ Altho. ] You don't mind? I don't want to make things weird.

He'll likely make it weird if you don't do it first so I say go for it. It might be good for him to lose at things occasionally.

Okay! Then I'll... I'll do it for your sake, m'lord! If I had a lance I'd request you bind something to it but I guess we'll have to do without.

Unfortunately given my current attire I don't have a tie or handkerchief or anything to offer you.

I think I'll be okay. I'll carry your virtue in my heart or something like that.
