DAY 365 — Anniversary Festival Mingle

Happy Day 365, Marina Nova!

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

Sector 5 Gamegrounds: What better way to show your bravery than by participating in a series of tests of strength and cunning? Sector 5 provides the inmates with a chance to try such varied sports as varpa, caber tossing, ring toss or the very dignified sport of rövkrok, a type of wrestling that requires skill as well as no sense of shame. Not tough enough for you? There are also friendly foam weapons and armor available for those who want to engage in a chivalrous bout of hand to hand combat, test your archery skills — or maybe convince another prisoner to give you a piggyback ride and go jousting!

Competitors that do well enough and show outstanding bravery may be rewarded with a handful of rehab points, or a personalized pennant — or maybe a kiss from the lord or lady of your choosing!

Less violent activities: Not into skewering your neighbors on spears? Maybe you'd rather relax with a game of knucklebones, pick up sticks or Nine Men's Morris. Boards and instructions are readily available in several areas. If you're more creatively inclined there's also activity tables on offer where you can create your own coat of arms, bind yourself a flower crown or learn the art of illumination.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. Whole roasted pigs and poultry, wild rabbit in plum sauce, thick beef stews smelling of rich saffron, roasted vegetables (no potatoes here, no sir!) and cream-stewed cabbage for the vegetarians among us. If you're still hungry there's saffron pancake, ginger and clove cookies or bread pudding with raisins for dessert. There's plenty of mulled wine, honey mead, foaming beer, honeyd applewater and lingonberry juice to wash it down with. Enjoy!

Dance: As is custom, there will be a dance at the beach at the end of the day. Great fires will roar and a band of robots will strike up music suitable for dancing! Dress up in your finest satin and velvet, brush the extrement off your shoes and grab a partner!

[Kanji doesn't show up until later in the afternoon because he was busy making his costume
and you gotta give him some warning with these things, dammit! Also because research and history have never been things he particularly shines in he may have accidentally come dressed as Robin Hood. Close enough? Anyway there are lots of super manly activities today that he will be having fun with. He'll be around trying out all the games that require strength and yelling. The food's pretty good too, and maybe if you're lucky he'll bust out

	It can be. I mean, it doesn't have some of these things, but people ride horses and take ships places. There aren't any cars or planes. The clothes are old fashioned, but not exactly like these. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

No way, man! You're on! [Kanji is never one to back down from a challenge, especially one of manly strength. The log is big and heavy but he uses manhole covers and desks to fight all the time. He's strong. Once he picks it up its just a matter of keeping it balanced before hurling it as far as he can. He doesn't have any sort of powers or superhuman strength but he is really strong and it goes a pretty good distance.]

	[One good thing about Kanji's mental capacity is that he gets over stuff pretty quickly. He hasn't forgotten their awkward encounter last time per say, but it's not really on his mind, especially in the face of all the excitement to be had today.] Yeah, totally!
