It will give you plenty to make fun of later. [She waves him around so they can both look at her computer screen. The disc is already inside. She hits play and it's already mid-dance recital as a little girl in a unitard in the brightest colors ever and an unfortunately puffy skirt that isn't quite a tutu is dancing a solo. She's really good and all the dancers come to take their bows when it ends and the little Kitty runs off stage when they're done to be greeted by two parents who tell her how proud they are and how much they love her.]

I haven't seen them since... [Since they were murdered in front of her but she doesn't want to think about that today. She's spent too much of her life thinking about them only on that day in that moment. It was easy to forget times like this one.]

The wardens were nice to me today.

[She knows it's probably just another way to mess with them. Keep them off balanced and partial conditioning is the strongest kind of conditioning. But screw it, she gets to see her parents tell her they love her and she gets to be happy about that.

Alright. [He pulls the disc out of his pocket and passes it over so she can play it.]

[It's from the future, because he's never seen this before. But there he is, sprawled out on the back of a speeder bike that looks as though it's been run into a tree. The repulor lifts are still working because it's floating but the engine seems dead and the front is crumpled and bent. It's hovering in the middle of a stream with a rope tied to it being towed along by a man whose face is impossible to make out under the huge burn scars covering it, which is sort of the point - Face is too recognizable without a disguise but it looks like he's had it on for awhile. The edges of the stage makeup scars are starting to peel and flake off like he's been sweating in a forest all day. As for Phanan he doesn't look much better. His position on the bike is awkward, like he's accommodating internal injuries and he looks pale and sweaty. The front of his TIE fighter uniform has been ripped open like he was trying to cool himself down. There's only a moment or two to take the whole scene in though before they start interacting.]

	I know I told my friend something he needed to hear. And I'm glad I get to know I did. [He returns the hug, but he doesn't feel like he needs it. He meant what he said; it's important to him to know he finally told Face that, and he can guess what was on the datapad, too. 	That was Face disguised as a pirate, so sort of. The two of us are admittedly the worst choices for a covert operations squadron. He's insanely recognizable and I'm absurdly memorable and difficult to disguise. [But at least the majority of the squadron's sarcasm is confined to one wing pair for easy disposal if necessary.] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Yeah, I'm good with it. [He tries to think of how to explain it.] That's how I was when I got here, and things have changed now. Send me back home the way I am today and I'd actually try and stay alive. Maybe this is what would have happened if I hadn't come here or maybe I'll get sent back and forget everything but even if that's the case I'll still have been happier and better off while I was here. It's not worth over analyzing but it is good to know that one way or another I said some things I needed to say in the one situation where he would have listened to me. And I'll bet that datapad has some conditions for getting his scar removed because he's an idiot who needs someone to point out that keeping it doesn't atone for anything. And I realize as I'm speaking you have no context for that remark so never mind. But yeah, I'm actually pretty good with it.
