No. Maybe. Not completely. [Little pauses between each answer.] It had been a reminder for awhile, so I was already thinking it might help. [A breath.] But everything is a reminder, so I should probably try to get out of that game before I burn the place down or something. [Not actually in any danger of her doing that.]

But I...guess I felt like I cheated on you even though my memories were rewritten without my control and obviously I can't cheat on someone who... [doesn't want to be with me.] So there was probably some feeling like I didn't deserve to wear it. [Honesty is starting to feel like a bad habit when it comes to Reid. Like it can only hurt her more these days, but she's always been as honest and open with him as she can be with herself if not more, and the impulse is still strong.]

Yeah, I guess so. [Just soft. There's no conviction behind the words because when she thinks about what should be it's not this. Never this. It's working through things together. Being on the same team even when it's hard. Especially when it's hard. A breath and she's forging ahead.]

She'd also had an emotion-altering pearl for quite a bit of it and her own struggles to work through after feeling like she might have lost him forever when he disappeared only to have him come back so different. Insecurities about his feelings for another woman and insecurities about her own ability to do and say the right thing and be there for him while she felt like she was falling apart thrived while their relationship didn't. And here they are.]

Yeah, I walked through while I was doing rounds. Fascinating stuff. Apparently some places have rubber duck races.
