Day 331 (strange relations) / Open Video / Picnic Mingle
[Have Euphie's smiling face on the screen. Kanji and I would like to invite you all to a picnic today! Of course we want to see all our family there, but friends and soon-to-be friends too. [That means strangers.]

You don't have to worry about bringing anything, but if you'd like to bring something extra to share or a game that would be fun or even just an extra blanket just in case that would always be welcome.

We'll be in Trois Park near the koi pond and fountain at noon today.

[There will already be some blankets laid out and pink picnic baskets with a variety of food—many of which have been prepared in extra cute ways like rice balls shaped like cats. You probably think this was mostly Euphie's doing, but it was mostly that boyfriend of hers, Kanji.]

Oh, not another one. He's getting a little bit tired of the fact that apparently he's the only person here who knows about Kanji, when he's sure he's been open about it. All right, so Mal isn't in his close circle of friends, but even so...

"Yeah, Kanji's my son," he says, with a bit more emphasis than he might normally have done. "Not Kitty's, though, obviously. Mine from before I came here."

Not that he could actually say from where, or who Kanji's mother was... He just knew Kanji was his son.

"It's even more heroic if you're scared but doing it anyway," he points out, and then shrugs. "The boyfriend I'd watched die in my arms turned up the same day I did. No way I was going to care about stupid sex band rules that day! Though I certainly regretted it afterwards. Those black bands suck."

He quirks an eyebrow. "And you should ask her. You could always go for red if she says no."

"Ah... yeah. That makes more sense." He looks to his own black band and shrugs. "Perhaps... To be fair, right after we got the, we got in a fight where she refused to speak to me. So you know... not like I've had a chance to really regret them."

As for asking about the blue bands... he'll hold off a little longer. Has to see if they can stay in each others good graces longer'n half a second.

Because if there's one thing this place has taught Jack, it's to grab those second chances with both hands and never let go.

Even if - it's weird, but... He remembers that stuff with Ianto when they first turned up, and yet... He hasn't thought of Ianto all day. Because he's got Kitty now - yet he can't remember when all of that changed. When his affections shifted from Ianto, to Kitty.
