Day 331 (strange relations) / Open Video / Picnic Mingle
[Have Euphie's smiling face on the screen. Kanji and I would like to invite you all to a picnic today! Of course we want to see all our family there, but friends and soon-to-be friends too. [That means strangers.]

You don't have to worry about bringing anything, but if you'd like to bring something extra to share or a game that would be fun or even just an extra blanket just in case that would always be welcome.

We'll be in Trois Park near the koi pond and fountain at noon today.

[There will already be some blankets laid out and pink picnic baskets with a variety of food—many of which have been prepared in extra cute ways like rice balls shaped like cats. You probably think this was mostly Euphie's doing, but it was mostly that boyfriend of hers, Kanji.]

What's stopping me? That's a really, really good question. [She thinks back to her conversation with Mom and her brother not long before. How long can she...should she keep this up without telling him the truth?

She just break this off now. She did with Major.

[She squeezes his hand feeling a little silly, but she doesn't want to let it go even after she's up. It might be her last chance at the normal romantic part of a relationship. She directs them away from the crowds of picnic goers and definitely out of sight and earshot of his family.]

Lyle, I really like you. [She manages a smile even if it's a little sad.] You're great and there's something you deserve to know about me.

That's what I'm afraid of. [Because here it comes. Time to blow things out of the water. She really should just break it off instead. It would be safer. If she was going to try and make it work with anyone, shouldn't it have been Major? But standing here now in this prison underwater where nothing really makes sense somehow it feels right to do the strange thing and just be honest. The fact that they are messing with her memories right now definitely helps.]

You've probably wondered why I'm so pale, right? And why I haven't wanted to do anything beyond kissing or cuddling? [And even the kissing she gets skittish about if it gets too hot and heavy. It's too easy to accidentally break skin. Sharp teeth in there!]

[He turned to look at her when they were finally a fair distance away from the others. This really was strange. He wasn't quite sure what she wanted to say, but definitely didn't sound too good in his opinion]

Well, I've noticed it but I've been here long enough that it's nothing I've really been too concerned with.

Back home I went to this boat party and it turned violent. People were killing each other and everyone was running and screaming and this guy scratched me. [Taking a breath. She could still turn back. Just make it seem like she's telling him some bizarre Halloween story maybe? But he's there looking at her and as far as she knows he's always been honest with her. She just wishes she had less terrible honesty.] When he did that I got infected and I died...and then I woke up like this.

...A zombie.

[He opened his mouth to speak when he heard what happened, but there was something about her posture, the tone of her voice that said she wasn't done yet. He wanted to know what happened, what this had to do with what was making her awkward all of the sudden.

Well, then he found out, Lyle went quiet looking at her in what one my call disbelieving shock, not quite sure he had heard her correctly]
