250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

	Because it's my job to take care of you. [She grabs a few of the granola bars she made yesterday and puts them into her small knapsack.] I'll bring these in case you get hungry after a while. If one notices such things, they'd see that the way she's moving is drastically different from her normal, floating steps. [Stepping into darkness makes him reach over to grab her hand out of fear of what may happen. Sure, he is brave and confident in his skills when it comes to taking down anything, but since this was a case of an unknown situation, it was difficult to feel confident when he wasn't sure of anything. Being unable to protect loved ones was one of his greatest fears.]

This way. [He starts to head in the direction where he is sure leads to Sector 0. Perhaps it was a force of habit, but he thought it was a good place to start.]

[Grateful for his confidence (even if she knows it might be forced), Lacus clings to his hand and easily keeps up with his pace. Sector 0 is a good idea -- central, a hub for the dome, a place people might go to seek answers. It has easy access to all other sectors, as well.]

[The flickering streetlights and inhuman screeching sounds in the distance do little to faze her by now; she's in full SEED mode, senses stretched to their limit, able to handle anything this place tries to throw at her.] It sounds like there's a lot of them, whatever they are.

[His grip on her hand tightens when he hears the screeching. He then releases her hand and puts a hand on her shoulder instead. If either of them needed to strike at any moment, they couldn't afford to be held back.]

I don't care what the rules of this place are. [He immediately starts to take this more seriously and talks to... whatever and whoever is out there.] Certain regulations of the Shinsengumi can be carried over to Marina Nova. Do not willfully get involved in disputes. Personnel conspiring with the enemy shall be punished. Personnel in breach of the aforementioned conditions will be ordered to undergo seppukku. [Perhaps that last one wouldn't work, but he would like it to.]
