250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

Though he might not see you when he turns the corner if you're invisible. 	[He nods, thinking that's a good idea by her.] It's cool. There's been a couple of times today when I wish I could've done that. [He's no stranger to dangerous situations, but all day long he's been feeling this overwhelming sense of dread that just won't go away no matter how hard he tries to squash it.] I just wonder what's causing all this. 	I don't know. Someone else was mentioning something else like this has happened before. Including the creatures that are running around. But she's not quite sure what's causing this. Yeah, I smoked them.

[Though the lights being out does even the playing field a little. Hard to run when you can't really see where you're going.]

Most dome malfunctions have usually lasted about a day since I've been here. But something does feel a little...different this time. [Meaning he's not so sure that this is just another "malfunction".]

[He cuts himself off as he spotted a flash of movement up ahead of them. At least he thinks he saw a flash of movement. It's hard to really tell at the moment since it's dark.

He shines the flashlight in the direction of where he thought he saw the movement to get a better look, but all that's there is the corner of a building and what looks to be an alley behind it.]

...Did you just see something run into the alley? [Or is he just seeing things?]

[He should know better. He's seen enough horror movies to know that nothing good is going to come from going into the alley. But his curiosity seems to have overridden his nervousness and whatever good sense he has as he tentatively takes a step into the alley. And another. And another. He finally stops when he gets to the middle and the light reaches the exit of the alley.

He turns his head around to look at her with a sheepish grin on his face.] Guess there wasn't anything there after all. [Except for the two raptors who suddenly appeared in the light in front of them. Not that he'd notice since he's still looking back at her.]

[She follows a few steps back, hesitating a bit. She wasn’t sure how smart going that far into the alley was, but she followed. Well, there couldn’t really be anything there, could there?

She was only momentarily relieved and then she spotted the raptors right behind them]

Wally!

[She immediately leapt forward and grabbed him, using her invisibility to attempt to cover them both and pull him out of the way of them. Hopefully, they’d be too stupid to realize what she had done]

[He's confused when M'gann grabs him, which causes the flashlight he's holding to slip out of his grip and clatter on the ground, but understands why a second later as he finally notices the raptors at the end of the alley. And since the raptors aren't currently trying to make them their next snack despite all that noise drawing their attention to the alley, he assumes M'gann had used her powers to camouflage them from the predators.

Still, one of the raptors decides to explore the alley a little more anyway, and as it gets closer, he thinks about just picking M'gann up and making a run for it. But before he has to make that decision, the raptor still outside the alley lets out a loud cry and takes off down the street, the other soon following hot on its heels.

It's not until he's sure that the raptors aren't coming back that he releases the breath he had been holding and lets himself relax.] Whew! That was a close one. Thanks, Megs.

[M'gann didn't move at all as the raptors made their way through. In fact she was holding her breath as one started to look their way, but then it was gone, running off another direction. She let out a sigh of relief.

Still she waited for a few long moments to make sure it was gone and then she dropped her invisibility. She felt a bit tired now from that, but glad]

No problem. Can't have them eating my friend.
