250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

[ kelly can be found all over. she doesn't have a specific sector to protect, but she's taking this new threat very seriously. she was up early and in the athletic complex at an hour to notice that the sun didn't rise, so she starts off near there when the raptors begin to make their appearance. she doesn't take long to realize that these things aren't friendly and soon enough her training kicks in.

she'll be tossing raptors everywhere, fighting them like she knows her way around a similar enemy. to her, they're just another pack of elites, though this time she has to be careful. this is like fighting with her first suit of armor, back when the human-covenant war was still new, or even before it, when she was fighting insurrectionists. she has to be careful, pick her battles wisely, and fight a little more defensively than she normally would. but she can still fight and fight she does.

if anyone seems to need help while she's running around, she'll do her best, but she might not notice them right away. her first priority is fighting. that's what she's good at. however, civilian lives are also important. if she can save them without endangering herself or anyone else, she'll at least give it a good effort. ]

[Kelly would hear the pounding footsteps of a man who she has had personal training time with, Krieg. It was clearly him, as his giggling when inflicting pain could be recognized anywhere. With him was a lead pipe that he had clearly been using with blood covering his chest and pipe.]

Captain! The enemies stand no chance and will fall to our utter obliteration, but there are TOO MANY TO EAT!

[He would in fact extend his bloodied hand in Kelly's direction, a simple hand shake to show good will and work alongside her. After all, he has no idea where to go.]

[ she'd recognize him anywhere, with or without a light source. good thing she can virtually see in the dark, isn't it? she shakes the offered hand anyway, not worried about the blood as much as the simple act of shaking hands. she's used to salutes. ]

I'm not a captain. [ because that is clearly the most important thing here. ] I'm a Spartan. If you have to use rank, call me 087. Right now, the important thing is to survive and make sure the civilians survive. [ one of them is doctor halsey, after all, and kelly would rather die herself than let something happen to that particular civilian. ] Eat when you're hungry or when they're all dead.

[ she's not risking having someone get hurt or die while they're eating, but if he gets hungry enough, she can stand guard. wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened. ]

[ Picking battles wisely is one thing Spike is not great at. He can if he really puts his mind to it, but most of the time he ends up resorting to formless mayhem, punching and ripping and breaking whatever he can get his hands on. Let's not forget that he hasn't had much of a chance to sate his bloodlust in this inside-out fishbowl and we can all agree that while this may be a terrifying day for some... it's practically Christmas for him.

With red-hot blood comes glee comes territorial greed and when she shanks a raptor he was set to snack the neck of, he gets a little miffed. Understandable, yes? ]
