250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

	That would probably be helpful. [Piper wasn't into that kind of stuff herself. Though, she did run a nightclub back home, and definitely indulged in the occasional drinking binge... but that was another thing.] Take your time. I think we'll be okay for a bit. That's a good dream. People always need t' eat, right? [ For a moment, he lets his mind wander to Festival. Back then he didn't think about it too much, but now he definitely knows how lucky he was to be taken in by that guy when he first came to the city. Fresh off the train, a real country hick that probably would've gotten himself killed his first week had it not been for Festival. ]

	Sure. [It was a steakhouse. They had meat. She finished prepping for two sandwiches, got some good melty types of cheese (it had to be a little fancy, okay?) and put bacon on both and tomato slices on one. I don't overwater as much anymore... at least, not as much as I used to. 	It's more that I just overwater when I have something on my mind, and it just water them on autopilot. I think it helps that I don't have the garden actually in my place of residence at the moment. I'm glad you like it. [She had always wanted to make that kind of food for a child. And she knew she would have a daughter. Phoebe had foreseen it. But, the past year of her marriage had resulted in no pregnancy whatsoever, and it was disappointing. She smiled a little sadly.]
