250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

[ oh thank god, someone with the sense to give her a cup of tea before trying to get her to do something. she murmurs a soft and very grateful thank you as she takes the cup and sips from it. ]

Sleep and I rarely agree with each other and there's too much to be done.

[ she doesn't do being idle very well and she would much prefer to be exhausted and overworked than idle and exhausted from a mind that wanders far too much for her own good. ]

Not at the moment, I don't believe, unless you've more of an eye for whatever is happening. I ran into a few creatures before I made it in, but I haven't quite figured out if they're here for a reason or because they simple escaped.

[ she can't imagine someone would have deliberately let them run around the dome, but neither does she think they're quite intelligent enough to find a way to break out of their designated area. it would be a situation that would make her ponder over all the possibilities and evidence if she were more herself. but today is not a good day to think. ]

I suppose there's always paperwork to keep up with. [ ...not as good a quip as normal, but there's the hint of her normal sense of humor buried in there. ]

I keep hearing that in just that tone. [ his words remind her of will and that's going a long way towards bringing her back to normal. will has always been her emotional compass, the person who could and would tell her when she was being stubborn or needed help she was denying herself. ]

They're nothing to scoff at. Consider yourself fortunate. I was hoping not to run into them myself.

[ and she knows she was lucky to have escaped them as well. ]

	Being decent at running and hiding and having a good deal of luck, I suppose. [ her life is a lot of luck and the universe not wanting to kill her just yet. ] I would suggest remaining in one place. 	As do I, but I don't believe us running around to try to save everyone would be much help if we can't fight off the danger, either.
