250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

	[It's so much less fun if you enjoy it. Vapor will need to fix that—hunt the hunter. Don't mind us, just the fog rolling in around you, little creature. [There is an obvious experience that surrounds Zero as he goes about his hunt. The fact that the sun has not rose does not impact his ability at all as this is the norm for him. He listens for sounds, he's quiet and he's extremely patient in waiting for the right moment to attack.

The moment he realizes there is more than one of them nearby, his mobility in his movements find higher and higher buildings to track from as he's more than aware from previous experience of their ability to work as a team. His every step is light, experienced at remaining undetected until he attacks.

Watching carefully from the top of the theater, Zero takes the opportunity given to him and expertly lets a makeshift spear fly, stabbing one of the raptors in the lower neck before the spear embeds in the tree just a few feet behind it.]

[Just for fun, let's see if the experience changes at all if the beasts he bloodies are less savage. A sound is issued—perhaps from the dying raptor. It certainly sounds that way, but then there are methods for making such things seem real. The sound is pained and sad and it's echoed as another raptor appears and instead of charging the hunter, it runs to its mate showing signs of grieving.]

[It's curious. Interesting to say the least, but he's been attacked by too many of these already to see beyond the novelty. He's shot vampires at point blank range, as their human loved one begged him to spare them, on more than one occasion.

So he does what any good hunter does. Takes advantage of their weakness and lets another of the spears he's created fly--straight into the second raptor's chest.

Only one left.]

[He pauses, never taking his eyes off the remaining raptor. His attention is split though, but probably not as much as vapor would like. To begin with, Yuuki is an immortal and more than capable of taking care of herself--and more importantly Zero lets her take care of herself unless it's obvious his help is needed. But he does worry about her even if he does believe she can manage it.

The strange part is that Zero's vampire hunting abilities can not sense her at all in the direction from which the voice came from. That is the part that garners his attention more than anything else. He should be able to feel her if she's nearby and he can't.]

[Maybe there is another reason for the lack of sensation. Not a true one, no, but certainly something to ponder.

A scream. A cry for help. The scent of blood.

Go on, you know you want to look. If you do you'll be rewarded with the sight of a familiar girl. Her hair is shorter perhaps. And if she doesn't feel like a vampire maybe it's because she's not one anymore. She is curled up in pain, shaking.]

[Well played vapor. There is the slightest difference between the two scents of which Zero is acutely aware. It's the very last thing he expects but Marina is known for throwing curveballs, so he doesn't hesitate. The scent of blood that currently permeates the air chokes him, but he's sure it's more from the panic that has clenched his chest.]

Yuuki!

[Taking off in the direction of the scream, he is prepared to take on an attack from the remaining raptor--in no way is he planning on going on the defensive. He finds it difficult to track the scent of blood that should normally lead him directly to her. It's surrounding him, but nothing strong enough in a specific direction to help him.

He knows that the Yuuki he's trying to find is not a vampire, that's why he can't feel her.]
