Who: Draco and Megan, possibly other Slyths/Puffs? When: Before lunch, Saturday 8th December Where: The corridor outside the Hufflepuff common room Why: Because Draco + Megan + mistletoe = hilarity!
I've decided not to go up to the Great Hall by the most direct route since I've heard a bunch of Gryffindors set off fifteen dungbombs and the stairs up are impassable unless you can hold your breath for six minutes. This only makes my bad mood even worse, so I stride off in the other direction without waiting for anyone else. I'm annoyed that I have to tramp around the entire lower levels of the castle just because of a few stupid Gryffindors. The next unlucky person to cross me is either getting a detention or a hexing.
I make my way along the corridors where the kitchens are supposed to be, silently fuming. I can't wait for the holidays - everything at Hogwarts is so insufferable lately. Still, things can't get much worse.

Who: Draco and Sylvie When: Mid-afternoon, Sunday 14th January Where: Some random corridor Why: Because Sylvie's hot stuff, and Draco should realise that ;)
I hate doing Prefect rounds on a weekend. Here's a secret: I hate doing Prefect rounds full stop. It was fun for the first few weeks, but now it's extremely boring. I can take points at any time; I don't need to patrol the corridors looking out for students breaking the rules. Snape would say being a Prefect brings out one's sense of duty, but it doesn't. Besides, we both know he only made me a Prefect because of my father.
Although I have to say, I am the best candidate for the post.
I pause at a window, and rest my elbows on the sill. I can see the front lawns, and right in the middle of them the Umbridge snowman that those second years built this morning. I'd never admit it, but it is amusing. If I run into those second years I suppose I should take points, but I don't know who they are. Apart from Fawcett's sister, of course. Maybe I should give her a detention; that would annoy Fawcett.

Who: 5th year Puff girls Where: Their dorm When: Friday 24th November, after lunch Why: Susan's not too fond of Streelers...
I've got a free period before Herbology so I've come up to the dorm to get my Runes textbook. I want to make a start on my homework so I don't have to worry about it on the weekend. I'm really looking forward to the Quidditch match!
I find the textbook underneath my bed and straighten up, knocking my elbow against the chest of drawers in the process. Despite what Megan says, I'm not a messy girl. Well... not that messy. But today I just happen to have left my underwear drawer open. What can I say, I was in a hurry this morning. Rubbing my elbow, I go to close the drawer - and let out an ear-splitting shriek.

Who: Marietta Edgecombe and OPEN (don't be afraid to jump in guys - RPing is fun ^^) When: Sunday, November 26, 1995 Where: Let's say...the Library Why: A little divination and chat, perhaps.
I'd spent Friday and yesterday busy with both homework and helping Professor Sprout with the damage in the greenhouses due to the Streelers. Maybe they were pretty (Megan Jones seemed rather attached to them, after all), but I'd always liked Professor Sprout and always done above average - although not great, in Herbology and seeing her upset made me upset, too.
But now I just needed to relax a little so pushing my Muggle Studies essay off to the side (I needed a bit of a break before checking it over for errors, anyway), I pulled out the worn set of tarot cards I'd been randomly given the summer before third year and started shuffling them, letting my mind fall into thoughts about poor Cho and her Quidditch failure, the stupid DA and Cormac McLaggen.
Throwing out a fourfold vision spread, my eyes scan the cards and my memory brings up the meanings for each one. Unfortunately, since I wasn't paying attention to which of my problems I was thinking of the most while shuffling my cards, I can't tell what problem they apply to, and in some ways, I can see how they fit all of them. Bother. Why does Professor Trelawney think I'm good at Divination, anyway. The more I look at it, the less sense it all makes.

Who: Morag MacDougal and Mandy Brocklehurst. When: Saturday the 8th of December. Where: Walking back to the common room from the library. Why: Because it's fun to roleplay.
Merlin OWL year was a pain. So much homework, so much studying, so much stress. But so far Morag was handling the pressure quite well by spending a lot of time in the library doing the homework and studying. She was determined to get good marks on her OWLs.
Maybe spending all day in the library wasn't the ideal start to the weekend but there wasn't really much else to do. Umbridge had banned pretty much everything fun. Studying could, however, be fun, especially if you'd managed to convince one of your friends to study too so you'd at least have someone to talk to. And that is why Morag and Mandy were in the library on a Saturday.
Morag finished writing the sentence she was currently in the middle of then looked up to see what the time was. Wow. They'd been there for ages. "Ready to go now?" she asked Mandy as she began to pack up her stuff. Soon all her stuff was back in her bag and she was ready to go. "I can't wait for the holidays." Morag said as she pulled her bag onto her shoulder and walked towards the exit of the library. "It'll be nice to have a break from all this work."

Who: Ginny Weasley and Draco Malfoy Where: Fourth floor corridor When: 5pm, Tuesday Why: Because words alone could not defend his family's honour
As far as days go, today isn't all that bad. The constant rain from yesterday has finally stopped, and I'm considering heading down to the grounds for a brief walk before dinner, even if it is getting pretty nippy out there. It would make a change from being holed up in the castle all the time; perhaps I could find someone in the DA and talk to them about tonight's meeting. I'm really excited about it, even if becoming better at such spells doesn't earn me any House points (well, we're bound to win the House Cup anyway!).
I split up from my friends about ten minutes ago as I need to nip to the toilet, leaving them to make their way up to the common room, loudly complaining about how cold it was becoming. I smile as I duck into the girls' bathroom on the fourth floor, thankfully Myrtle-free, also thinking longingly of the comforting Gryffindor fire. It's incredibly chilly in here!
A few minutes later I glance briefly at my appearance in the mirror over the sinks, before stepping out of the chilly bathroom, rubbing my hands over my upper arms, glancing out the window opposite at the grounds. Guiltily, I remember that I said I would meet my friends back in the common room before dinner, and rather happily decide against walking around the grounds; after all, it might not be raining, but it's still cloudy and cold!
Thinking maybe I'll instead walk around the grounds with Michael on the weekend, I pull down my purple Weasley jumper, grateful that I'm wearing it as the temperature in the castle has been dropping steadily since we entered November. I push my hands into my pockets and make my way down the corridor, my mind still hovering on the DA. Perhaps we'll be revisiting Shield Charms again, I wonder, my pace slowing down to a dawdle as I smile to myself, reminiscing over the previous meeting, extremely satisfied that we're learning to defend ourselves and rubbing it in Umbridge's face.

Who: Stacey and Open! Anyone can join, people who want to play, people who want to laugh - don't be shy! Where: Outside, Courtyard? When: October 17, 1995 Why: Why not?
It's one of those perfectly lovely days outside. The kind where you just want to be outside and certainly not inside studying. I brought my books outside and tried studying under a tree for a while, but again, it's just so lovely, and the tree I'm sitting under has lost most of its leaves...
And this is how I find myself with my books abandoned where I was sitting and gathering the leaves from nearby trees and making a huge pile with them. And once that's complete with a running leap I jump into them, listening to them crackle as they get stuck on my jumper and in my hair and I don't care if anyone else outside thinks I'm an idiot. Fourteen or no, sometimes it feels good just to act like a kid again.

Who: Megan Jones and Katie Bell Where: A closet near the Charms classroom When: 25th October, 1995 Why: It's a rescue mission :]
Feeling incredibly guilty, I make my way down the Charms corridor. After hearing that a Gryffindor girl was stuck inside a closet, I couldn't sit around and do nothing; I don't really know her, but that's not an excuse not to help. I pass the Charms classroom, and look around, unsure if I'm even allowed to be in this part of the school. I look behind me to check I didn't miss the closet, worrying my bottom lip; glancing around the corridor one last time, I continue past the classroom, my footsteps echoing around the deserted hallway.
Nearing the end of the corridor, I spot something -- what looks to be a suit of armour and a large vase have been propped against the wall. Running up to them, I see that they're blocking a door. Shifting the heavy suit of armour slightly to the right, I tap on the door to make sure this is the right place. "Hello?" I ask, putting my ear as close to the door as I can manage. "Katie?" I just hope that she's still alive!
Peeves is such a meanie to students.

Who: OPEN! Where: The Great Hall When: 7am Why: The brussel sprouts plot, of course!
I've got a full day ahead of me, so I start helping myself to a big bowl of porridge that's sitting in the middle of the table. I drizzle on copious amounts of honey and slosh a little milk around the edges. I still feel half asleep, thanks to Astronomy last night. Blearily I pick up a spoonful of porridge, hoping that a good breakfast will wake me up.
"Ugh! Oh Merlin, that tastes awful -"
I've swallowed the porridge before I realise that it tastes absolutely disgusting. I reach for my glass of water but that too tastes wrong, somehow. "Ugh. Oh, yuck yuck yuck..."
I'm definitely awake now, and pulling what's probably a really stupid face. I look up and down the table and see my fellow Hufflepuffs beginning to make similar faces as they too start to eat their breakfast. That's a comfort, then; it's not just me.
I turn to my friends. "What's going on? Why does everything taste so vile?"

WHO: Lil and Mandy WHAT: Kitchen raids WHEN: Sometime after Lil's journal entry WHERE: SECRET MEETING PLACE (in front of the statue of Gregory the Smarmy) WHY: It's tradition
School's started for over a fortnight already. Time really flies when you're having fun. Too bad I wasn't having much fun. Hogwarts is great like always, but after four years you seem to get used to all the shocks it has to offer. Only there weren't any shocks apart from having a dreadful defense against the dark arts professor. But that isn't a shock.
Luckily I was going to be raiding the kitchens tonight with Lil. It's become sort of a tradition to raid the kitchens ever since we found them when we were poking around the corridor near the Hufflepuff Common Room. Anyway, after I had replied to Lil's journal entry (she actually wrote something with no spelling errors), I put my journal back and headed off. Where? To the ever-so-secret meeting place, in other words infront of the statue of Gregory the Smarmy. It's hard to meet up sometimes since we're in different houses so we decided to make a meeting place.
So here I am. Standing outside a statue by myself, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible and failing, and wondering where on earth Lil was.

Who: Hannah Abbott & Susan Bones What: Discussing the DA When: After dinner on Wednesday Where: 5th year Hufflepuff girls dormitory Why: Because they aren't going to just randomly show up at the Hogs Head on Saturday!
While serving the obvious purpose of getting yourself clean, taking long showers can also relax your body and jog your memory. Which is how, after a long and busy day, I remembered what Hermione Granger had pulled Ernie and I aside after Astronomy last night to talk about. I know it's terrible that I could forget something as important as actually learning Defence in our OWL year, but hey, it was three in the morning. Cut me some slack. Anyway, she'd said to spread the word to people we were sure wouldn't tell Umbridge about it, and who better to trust than my girls? So I take the stairs up to our dorm two at a time, blowing a hot air charm at my hair as I go.

Whom: Lil' Miss Wilkes and [OPEN] What: Boredom in the library. When: Thursday evening, after dinner. Why: Because the mun is bored and Sage needs to pass her classes whether she likes it or not.
If Sage was to make a list of favourite activities (which she was not because she felt those little 'getting to know you' games people were playing in their journals were not only pointless, but also an insult to her intelligence), studying would not be in the top ten. Not even in the top hundred. If something was worth remembering, she would remember it. Sitting in a library for hours staring at star charts that she would forget as soon as she wrote them down in three hours time was a complete waste. It was not without a sense of supreme irony that she found herself sitting on the floor of the Astronomy section doing exactly that.
Sage had never liked the library very much. In addition to the utter dearth of interesting reading, it was far too quiet for her taste. She had grown up in a house full of people; between her family and the servants there had always been someone to talk to or at least listen to. The relative silence of the library, punctured occasionally by the scritch-scratch of quills or the whispers of quickly-hushed conversations. It was unnerving.

Alice had invited me to come stay at her house a few days, and since I hadn't seen my best friend since we left Hogwarts, I was more than happy to go, even if her mum doesn't seem to like me that much. But she was agreeing to let me stay, so it can't be that bad!
Anyway, Mrs Wilkinson had to run some errands and asked if Alice and I wanted to come along, so we all Flooed to Diagon Alley. And after enjoying some ice cream, we head into Scrivenshafts where I decide to check out this new fad in the window while Alice looks at some glittery ink.
These journal things do look kind of cool, and I wonder if I ought to buy one or not.
