Though Ginny, too, had grown up in a busy household, where silence within their walls was a less likely than a house elf, she did not find herself longing for the chatter and noise that came part and parcel with large families. Granted, this summer had been different to most, but even at the Order headquarters, something was always happening; a quiet moment was a rare occurrence. Every time she sat down to think, her mother exclaimed that if she wasn't doing anything, she could help with the dinner, or else help Harry and Ron continue cleaning. Wasn't thinking 'doing something'? And so Ginny had looked to Hogwarts to give her time alone to be private; that had backfired, as there were friends to greet and Michael to appease, meaning she had been forced to retreat into the bowels of the library, her eardrums throbbing. Deciding that the Astronomy section would be the quietest, she headed down the aisle to it, her mind drifting away into a daydream; so engrossed was she in her thoughts that she stumbled straight into someone who had stupidly decided to sit on the floor. Her hands outstretched, she toppled to the side, landing painfully on her hip, her hands breaking the fall a bit. Irritated, she looked up sharply, frowning at the stupid idiot who had decided the floor would be a great place to rest; her frown deepened as she recognised the Slytherin. "Having fun there?" she asked dryly, rubbing her wrist where it had hit the floor. Really, what prat hid at the back of the Astronomy section where they were concealed by the shelves by anyone passing by? |

Occupied as she was attempting to calculate the precise distance between Rigel and Bellatrix in relation to Orion's Belt, Sage remained unaware of the fact that there was an intruder to her private stack. Indeed, t wasn't until the other girl spoke that she realised she'd been stumbled over at all. Sage stared at theyoungest Weasley for a long moment before responding, very intelligently, "Huh?" Did she ask me a question? I'm sure she asked me - oh. 'Having fun?' Right. I'd better respond, then. "Terrific fun," Sage replied, drumming her fingers impatiently against the book on her lap. Damn, she'd completely forgotten where she'd been in her calculations. Little matter, she could just make them up as she went along, Sinistra probably wouldn't care, in fact, the woman ought to be used to it by now. "'Course my evening hasn't been nearly as exciting as yours, clearly. Did you have a nice trip?" There was a thought bouncing around in the back of her mind...something to do with Weasley...ah yes, the other girl had vaguely threatened her and when Sage had risen to the occassion, she'd just as vaguely backed out. Typical Gryffindor; they talk big, but when it comes right down to it they're completely useless. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) |

Unsure how anyone could not notice being tripped over, the confused "Huh?" was taken to be a sarcasm, causing a rather prominent scowl; she paused in massaging her wrist, taking in Sage's untroubled attitude as she continued to look at her work. Falling over her had hurt, yet Sage seemed to be unhurt? As cliche as it might sound, that simply wasn't fair. Then again, that seemed to be the way with Slytherins, capable of slithering out of trouble and pain as easily as they lied. Not for the first time, she wondered why the House still existed; it churned out more Dark wizards than the other three combined. Looking sceptically at Sage, she wondered how someone could use such a tired expression without cringing. Did you have a nice trip?; it was probably as old as the family ghoul. Brushing it off, she smiled brightly, replied in an equally chipper voice, "It wasn't too bad." If Sage had the nerve to mock her, she would return the favour. Her hand going back to her wrist, she tested it gingerly, circling it slowly around; it didn't feel too bad, though the ache was still there. Just her luck to bruise her wand arm. Of all the places she could have strayed to in the library, she had to pick the one which was painfully occupied. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) |

"Good," Sage replied, simply, eyes flickering back to her homework. Was Weasley still standing there? A quick glance to the side confirmed that, yes, she was still there and was massaging her wrist in a most irritating fashion. Surely it couldn't have hurt that badly, she was clearly being melodramatic. Did the girl expect sympathy? Well, she would be getting none from Sage, she fell down all the time and didn't throw herself a ruddy pity party every time she got herself a bruise. "Don't touch it so much, you'll just aggitate the injury," Sage remarked absently. "Then you'll really have something to complain about. Typical Gryffindor; it was always all about them all the time. Take her little boyfriend, Potter, every time that lad got so much as a bloody nose the school shut down and rumours of the Dark Lord's imminent return ran rampant. Attempting to concentrate on her notes, Sagee found the excercise far more difficult now that she'd been distracted. "Fuck," she swore angrily, flipping back a page to check a prior calculation. Sympathy was not expected from Ginny, who was still rubbing her wrist, ignoring the instructions Sage had given her (did Sage really expect her to take orders from a Slytherin?). Sympathy would have been pushing it, not that Ginny wouldn't have appreciated it; no, she was far more concerned with getting an apology, for, to her, it seemed as though this was entirely Sage's fault. Sitting on the floor instead of at a table was stupid enough, but to not even apologise when the were the cause of a rather painful accident was incredibly arrogant; which, come to think about it, was really what she expected of Slytherins. Arching her brows at the cursing, she was distracted from rubbing her wrist, and looked at Sage in an intrigued manner. Though Ginny wasn't partial to swearing herself, hearing someone else cuss didn't faze her; the fact that Sage was irritated by Ginny's presence made her raise her brows, suppressing a satisfied smirk. If she was putting Sage out, then that was fine by her -- think of it as compensation for the fall. "Having problems?" she inquired, unable to prevent a superior smile lining her face. Still there? Apparently. Ah well, Sage had long ago perfected her ability to shut out irritating voices and people. No doubt she'd be able to do it now...except for the fact that, irritating as she was, Weasley was serving as a passable distraction. And Sage was endlessly distractable. "If a general disdain for hastily memorised useless information is a problem, then yes, that is my current predicament." Sage wasn't thick, though she could often project that aura, she just wasn't good with writing...or reading, so much. An auditory learner by nature, it proved to be a problem when she was given a textbook and told to learn with it. Giving Weasley a cool glance, Sage was again completely astonished by the evidence of the Gryffindor Superiority Complex. How this girl could ever call anyone in her house an elitist or complain about their egos was beyond her. Sage was many things, a hypocrite was not one of them and she despised hypocrisy in others. |
