Who: Morag MacDougal and Mandy Brocklehurst.
When: Saturday the 8th of December.
Where: Walking back to the common room from the library.
Why: Because it's fun to roleplay.
Merlin OWL year was a pain. So much homework, so much studying, so much stress. But so far Morag was handling the pressure quite well by spending a lot of time in the library doing the homework and studying. She was determined to get good marks on her OWLs.
Maybe spending all day in the library wasn't the ideal start to the weekend but there wasn't really much else to do. Umbridge had banned pretty much everything fun. Studying could, however, be fun, especially if you'd managed to convince one of your friends to study too so you'd at least have someone to talk to. And that is why Morag and Mandy were in the library on a Saturday.
Morag finished writing the sentence she was currently in the middle of then looked up to see what the time was. Wow. They'd been there for ages. "Ready to go now?" she asked Mandy as she began to pack up her stuff. Soon all her stuff was back in her bag and she was ready to go. "I can't wait for the holidays." Morag said as she pulled her bag onto her shoulder and walked towards the exit of the library. "It'll be nice to have a break from all this work."

Mandy had made the resolution to start stressing after or during the Christmas holidays. But since she wouldn't want to worry about OWLs while counting her presents, she'd decided it'd be best to worry about them after. Even though she didn't stress about OWLs, Mandy was starting to get too much homework than she could handle. The amount of essays she had to do was starting to pile up again. So what better way was there than to spend the start of the weekend in the library doing them? The work wasn't even hard, it just took a lot of time. The day had been fun. As fun as it can get in the library, anyway. And it wasn't the studying that made the day fun, but the fact that Mandy was with Morag whom she felt oddly cut off from that made it fun. Actually, she felt oddly cut off from everyone in the dorm. Maybe she had been worrying about the Streeler incident far too much. Anyway, it was fine now. Hagrid were looking after them and she hadn't seen one for the past three days, which definitely meant an improvement. Mandy had felt relaxed for the first time in days, but it would've been sooner if there hadn't been the disaster that was Tracey's birthday party. Gossiping about classmates, struggling over an indecently hard Charms essay, debating whether the journals are good or not and just catching up in general made the time fly awfully fast. So fast that Mandy hadn't realised until Morag asked if she wanted to leave yet. "Huh? Oh wow. We've been here for ages. Yeah let's go. I really need to stretch my legs," replied Mandy as she chucked her stuff into her bag quite messily. That will do for now. "Same. I can't wait till Christmas and going back to see everyone," she said as they walked out the library. Mandy couldn't help but notice the numerous amounts of mistletoe hanging every few feet. "Can't believe it's nearly Christmas already. The year's gone pretty fast, hasn't it?" She had been debating about whether or not she should tell Mo about the Streeler incident. She could trust her, could she not? It was a long time ago and everyone's seem to have forgotten about them already. She'll probably tell her later when the topic comes up. If it does come up. |

"Yeah, that'll be nice too. We're going to visit all dad's relatives in Scotland, how about you?" Morag asked. Wow. There was a lot of mistletoe. It was still 17 days until Christmas. Isn't that a bit early to get the mistletoe out? "It has." Maroga agreed. "It seems like school was just starting again for the year a few days ago." Morag wouldv've thought that without the distractions of tornaments, esaped prisoners, etcetera, the year would've gone slower but it had gone just as fast much to her surprise. "It's been a pretty normal year so far, too." Morag added. "With the exception of a few things, of course. Like Tracey inviting so many un-Slytherin people to her party and the Streelers and all but it's still been more normal than usual." (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) |

"It's certainly true that nothing dull ever happens at Hogwarts," Mandy smirked. Normally, she would be thinking oh crap, they had hit that point where it dragged memories of the Streelers back up again and it'll take all her willpower to not scream out the truth. Except, that wasn't what happened now. She could do exactly what Lil did, and it was even better now since Lil had already told the rest of the Hufflepuff 6th years then Mandy won't have to feel bad. She was ready to just scream it out into the mountains. But she's not going to. Instead she settled for a dramatic pause. "Anyway," she began and paused for dramatic effect. Now she was just enjoying herself, it's not like there's going to be any ramifications, "If it wasn't for Lil and I, the Streeler thing wouldn't even have happened to keep Hogwarts entertained. Well, it was mainly me. You see I found this book and it was pretty cool and had a treasure map like thing so I thought it WAS a real treasure map so I called Lil and we decided to go treasure hunting," she was rambling again and dear Merlin it felt good. It felt good to be the old Mandy again, not that the new one stayed for long and noone really noticed her presence. "It was really fun at first and we got really excited! We even found a trapdoor thing. That was near the Forbidden Forest and then I opened it and we started screaming. At first we screamed out of pure joy since we saw something shiny and colourful since that's what Streelers are, and then we screamed because the Streelers started to pounce and they fully slimed us onto the ground so we couldn't stop them. So yeah." She suddenly felt really relieved that she had confessed and watched Morag while she waited for her response. Would she be angry? Annoyed? Amused? Who knew, because at the moment something made a noise. "Oi! Stop right there you two. OI. I said stop!" Huh? Mandy looked around to see who was saying that and saw noone. The corridor was unusally deserted, apart from Morag, the random voice and her. "I'm up here nitwit." Mandy looked up. What in the name of Merlin did the mistletoe want? "You let the Streelers out?" Morag repeated in shock. She was about to ask how it happened when Mandy continued. She listened as Mandy explained what happened. "A treasure map that led to Streelers?" Morag asked when mandy had finished. "That's an odd treasure. The person who wrote the book must've loved magical creatures." she said, a grin on her face. It was pretty funny that the Streeler incident had been caused by two of her friends. Morag opened her mouth to continue speaking when she was cut of by someone else. She looked around, completely confused. Where on earth was the voice coming from? When the voice told them to look up Morag was expecting to see Peeves floating above the two of the, but instead there was just Mistletoe. "Why's the mistletoe talking to us?" I ask Mandy, unsure about this mistltoe. It seems rather rude. "Isn't it obvious?" the Mistletoe answered. "What do people usually do under Mistltoe?" Wait! The mistletoe wanted them to kiss? OK, there was no way Morag was doing that no matter how good a friend Mandy was. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) |

"We didn't know they were Streelers at first and I don't think it always had Streelers in it. It probably had actual treasure, but someone might've found it and put.. well Streelers in it as a joke," Mandy said, shrugging, but nonetheless glad that Morag found it funny. "Lucky it was only Streelers and nothing really dangerous." Getting off the topic of Streelers, Mandy focused on more pressing matters. Like persisting mistletoe for instance. "Excuse me? You don't rudely stop two people and then demand them to snog. And there is no way that I will snog Morag. No offence, Mo, but umm yeah," she was pretty sure that Morag didn't want to kiss her either. "Ergh, Why am I even arguing with mistletoe in the first place? This is mad," oh wait. It was Hogwarts, what else did she expect? "Anyway. We'll be leaving now. Have a nice day, and for the love of Merlin, you mistletoe can't sing and I don't even know why you're bothering," Mandy said and started to walk off, but when she hadn't even gotten a meter away, she was stopped. It seemed like they were now surrounded by some invisible bubble or barrier that blocked her from moving any further. On any other day, Mandy would be quite interested at this bubble and would want to study it. But today wasn't one of those days. "OI. LET US GO," Mandy demanded. "I'll let you go, but I'm pretty sure you know what you need to do first," the mistletoe replied slyly and if mistletoe had a faces, then it would most likely be smirking. "None taken. I don't want to snog yo either." Morag replied before turning back to the mistltoe. Why wouldn't the mistletoe leave them alone? Morag was about to follow Mandy away when Many suddenly stopped. "Why did you stop?" she asked as she tried to walk away herself. She soon found out why Mandy had stopped. "Ugh." Morag sighed in frustration. "Please just let us go. We're not going to kiss." she pleaded. "I'm sure there's way more people you can make kiss that will be a lot more cooperative than us." "Yeah, that's why I stopped," she said. She had put up with enough guilt about the Streelers, she didn't need to put up with this. Is the Mistletoe blind? Can't it see that they're both females? "I'm waiting," said the mistletoe relentlessly. It was pretty obvious that it wasn't going to take no for an answer, but there's got to be another way. "Any ideas, Mo?" asked Mandy. Maybe they could just sit there until the charm wears off. This can't be permanent, or maybe they could wait for a teacher to walk past. Maybe she could just peck her? That might work, less waiting too. "Peck on the cheek maybe?" (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread) |

What was wrong with this Mistletoe? Morag was quickly becoming frustrated. All she wanted to do was get back to the common room but no, she had to be stopped by some Mistletoe that could talk. Why? "It's probably the quickest way to get away from this stupid Mistletoe." Morag agreed. |
