Note: this is the long-awaited Motherless Child holiday fic. It will continue through Twelfth Night unless it gets completely out of hand, in which case, all bets are off.
Those not familiar with Motherless Child and its sequels/prequels need to know that Severus and Remus are married and have adopted a baby werewolf. It is now the holiday season, and an unexpected controversy has arisen as their families descend for Christmas/Hanukkah/Solstice/Yule/Hogmana
"We should have gone to my Muggle cousin's for Christmas," Severus murmured. The headache powder was not touching his migraine. "She did ask."
"There are teenagers there, too." Remus stared moodily into the fire.
"Those teenagers haven't suddenly turned Orthodox for love."
"Or New Age. Did you know Mum tried to slip me a gift certificate for a hot stone massage?"
"Ha. Esther wants to know when we're going to schedule John's bris." Severus closed his eyes. "Yule logs and circumcision go together so nicely."
"Your gift certificate is for a wild wheatgrass enema."
Severus winced. "Next year, Gemma's."
"Agreed."
