The Chamomile Club was dark, intimate, and blessedly free of cigarette smoke. It was also, as far as Snape could tell, patronized entirely by gay men.
This was not in and of itself a problem. He had been to gay clubs before, usually undercover, and knew enough not to stuff a colored handkerchief into his back pocket. The singer, a blonde with a wonderfully smoky voice, did a perfect Streisand imitation, and that was reason enough for him to relax and enjoy himself.
Lupin, though…he seemed unnervingly familiar with everyone there, and unnervingly good at flirting. What was going on?
