Desensitizing Pussyboots had caused the creature to sneeze a truly impressive glob of mucus onto Snape's robes. Forcing pills and liquids down her throat meant projectile vomiting. Lupin had tried talking to her, both as man and as wolf, and both man and wolf bore the scars to prove it. Astoria had continued to look through wallpaper samples of grapes, landscapes, alembics, stripes…anything but damask roses.
"It's doomed." Lupin looked about the beautiful, fragrant old room. "Doomed, and all because of an ill-tempered cat."
Snape stared out the window. "I wonder. Let me send an owl."
