"You what?" Severus's jaw dropped as Remus, in a cowboy hat and jeans that seemed to have been stolen from Colton Travers's leavings, strode into the room. "Competitive poker?"
"Texas Hold 'Em. It's addictive." Remus lifted a foot so Severus could see his new, hand-tooled boots. "They're having a tournament at the Soul Casino in Aberdeen."
Severus pinched the bridge of his nose. Was Remus delirious? "You haven't the money to participate in that lifestyle. Who's staking you?"
Remus looked wounded. "I saved up enough to buy into an amateur's table. I know when to quit."
Severus had his doubts.
