The elves had outdone themselves for the Hogwarts Millenial Celebration and Exhibition. Old artifacts and books had been cleaned and restored, old rooms refurbished. The faculty had agreed to wear Anglo-Saxon clothing for the year, with the Heads of House dressing like the Founders.
Best of all was the huge cake depicting Hogwarts and its history. Remus had twitched his mantle aside to admire a basilisk made of sugar paste when he felt a shadow behind him.
"Severus?"
Severus ran a hand over his tunic. "It's based on Salazar Slytherin's grave clothes."
Remus raised an eyebrow. "He had good taste."
