Some time ago I saw a post on a friend's journal about love_bingo @LJ. It sounded interesting, so I checked it out and signed up. It's high time I actually post the card I received for round 3 instead of just plotting what I'll do for each prompt! Well, I probably should start with making some of those icons/wallpapers/banners and writing some of those fics I planned :D

So, after finishing 2 out of 3 20in20s this month, I just had to sign up for another one. I really felt like doing it even if I've been lacking inspiration. A part of me feels that I tend to stay far too safe, going by the same routine for every icon. I think in this my main problem is actually picture choice, followed by going the safe route while making icons - after all I know I tend to like the result of my "standard" icon procedure. Still, being able to icon several different fandoms (even if I don't know all), did help in that regard.

Another part that helped was probably the "off-schedule" timing. The majority of 20in20s go from the 1st to the 20th and this one started on the 20th/21st. A time when my mind isn't pressuring me to just get those sets done :)

Now if only I could get those other things on my to-do list done! There are plenty of fics to post (but I'm still stuck at uploading old ones to Ao3) and a few more to type up and finish. I really need to take stock of which stories I have on my hard drive that are waiting to be posted.

And now I should get to the icons and quit rambling ;D

I find myself a little uninspired to make icons lately (it's probably all those Hobbit fanfictions I'm reading - LotR and the Hobbit have overtaken my mind!) and I had to force myself to finish. I'm still more or less happy with these icons (especially the B&W ones). Part of my mixed feelings might be the fact that I used old screencaps I made years ago and found them to be lacking in quality (making me wonder if they were from before I had the DVDs).

Ever since I watched the Hobbit I was pulled back into the Lord of the Rings fandom - let's see if it's to stay :D

These were made for round 45 at free20in20 @LJ. I already thought I wouldn't be able to enter as I got sick this week (so much for my mad dash to finish last minute) only to be told I had more or less one more day to try. Luckily I did feel better and ended up with rather long stretch to make it last minute. I took me quite a while to find some of those pictures!
Then again, I did take tons of pictures since 2007 and the picture archive from my dad goes even further back (thanks to a hard drive crash of my computer back in 2007 that took everything with it...) and I finally pulled through with my deteermination to use them more often instead of directly going to other places first :)

These were made for round 29 at season20in20! The first few I made all ended up b&w because I just couldn't get the colouring to cooperate... but I do quite enjoy b&w icons so it wasn't really a problem for me (and I still went ahead with my choice to make the AC set b&w ;D)

Next up (if I get them done tomorrow) are the Tenth Doctor for doctorwho20in20 and a set for free20in20. On top of that I have finished my icons for the next icon battle with dani_meows. This time around we decided on "The Avengers" :D

So, recently I finally got around to check my "not posted yet" folder for icons to see what kind of mess I left behind when I merged my back with my active folder. I faintly remembered having done so before. Which is why it was only half surprising that for the roughly 200 icons in that folder I didn't find a previous post with them.

To avoid a giant post, I split them up a bit and this is the first one of them :)

Prompt: This was written for the avengers_xchng on Livejournal as a gift for le_prince_lutin who wanted:
Post-apocalyptic or dystopian setting where Chitauri conquered Earth. Maybe combined with another trope? Heist? They're in SHIELD underground bunker and driving each other nuts? They operate a restaurant/shelter for New Yorkers? They're heading a rebellion while masquerading as a theater troupe/circus? They meet each other again (after separation) in a Hunger Games-style arena because the Chitauri want all of Earth to despair as the captured leaders of various revolutionary groups (or just superheroes, as figures of hope and uprising) kill each other?
A/N: It was struggling more with this prompt than I initially anticipated, but I hope that you like it anyway! I tried to balance all of their different backgrounds by presenting various ways to celebrate. I also hope nobody minds that I made Bruce Jewish to represent more than just Christmas.
This is also my first Avengers story and I hope that I managed to get the voice of the characters!
