Welcome.
You've found Doctor Who Icontest, a new icon challenge community dedicated to the new (2005) BBC series of the classic science fiction tv show Doctor Who. Challenges will feature characters, episodes, scenes and themes from the show. Most often, screencaps or other pictures will be provided and then it will be your mission, should you choose to accept it, to icon them.

It's a brand new site here on IJ, so your input is going to determine the direction that the challenges and the site go in.

I'm Beth, by the way ([info]blue_siofra here, 10_rose on LiveJournal and noble_siofra on dreamwidth), and I'll be your friendly neighborhood moderator. :)


How it all works.
Voting will held at the end of each challenge, providing we receive enough entries. You'll vote for your favorites in a comment to the voting post; you don't have to be a member to vote, but anonymous votes won't be accepted, sorry. First, second and third place will then be award based on your votes. If there are enough contestants, mod's choice will also be awarded. Banners will made for the winners.


 Rules
01. All icons must follow InsaneJournal's guidelines of being 100x100 pixels or less, with a file size of under 100kb.

02. Don't post your icon(s) anywhere else until after results for the contest have been posted. This includes upload it as a userpic.

03. Voting for your own icon is just not good sportsmanship and not allowed.

04. You may use any kind of texture, brush, stock picture, or coloring that you want, unless the challenge specifies otherwise.

05. Animation is not allowed unless specified in the challenge.

06. You don't have to a member to enter a challenge, but at least watching the asylum is recommended. Anonymous entries will not be accepted, sorry.

07. And the most important rule - Have fun!


Entering the contest.
You can submit your icon in a comment to the challenge post. All comments to these post will be screened. I recommend and use Photobucket.com for image hosting, but that's entirely up to you. :)

 Timeline.
The challenges are now on a weekly schedule. It will go like this:

Sunday - A new challenge is posted.
A mid-week reminder will be issued.
Saturday - The voting poll is posted.
Monday - The results are posted.
