Making amends is easier with caffeine and sugar
Who: Lia and Quentin (and their familiars)
Where: Quentin's Apartment
When: Late morning
What: Making up for disappearing
She felt like she was still getting settled. It wasn't easy with her broken arm, but she finally decided to spend some of the money she had and hiring people to paint and move things seemed like a worthwhile expense. So the house was painted but there were still boxes to unpack. She had more books than she cared to count but it didn't matter. Lia was back and she was more than happy to be there, past aside. Yes, it sucked that someone else walked out of her life, but she would get through it like she always had. And that meant that she had to make sure she showed the friends she had that she was more than grateful for them.
The first person she thought of was Quentin. She hoped he didn't hate her. 'He can't hate you', piped up the voice from her passenger seat. Especially not with these donuts! They smell amazing. Are you sure I can't have one? I wouldn't tell Momma. She can't get mad if she doesn't know it happened, right? Right?! Cause I really want a donut. Oh my god, why are they called donuts? What happens to the little holes? Are they like kitten treats or something? Can I please have one--"
"Nix, darling, I love you but shut up." Lia laughed as she parked near Quentin's apartment. The kitten was something she was still adjusting to, especially given how hyper the ball of fur was. Rolling her eyes, she slid her keys in the bag and motioned to the kitten. "Come on, get in. I can't carry you in my arms and coffee and donuts. You're gonna have to ride in the purse."
If a kitten could have pouted, Nix would have. 'Aww, come on! Lia, I promise I won't move! I could like totally ride up on your shoulder or something, like when we're home and on the couch!'
"And when you slip, you'll dig your claws into my skin. I'm injured enough. Now, come on, in the purse." Tail down, Nix did as she was told. Lia got out of the Jeep and walked around to the other side. First, she slid her purse over her shoulder, then she tucked the two cups of coffee between her cast and her body. Picking up the bag containing the donuts, she had to hip check the door closed and she started up to her friend's. She hoped he was still her friend.
'Why wouldn't he? Could you stop thinking such negative things? I swear, I'm gonna need a donut just to make it through this.'
She rolled her eyes. "Could you quit poking around in my head, Nix? At least for a little while. You're gonna give me a migraine." Someone was leaving as she walked up and he held the door, seeing how full her hands were. Of course, Nix chose that moment to shift in her purse, no doubt earning her a strange look. 'Oh my god, what is this? Why does it smell minty? Oh my god, can I have this? Is it for eating?'
"Nix, stay out of the gum! I am not getting it out of your fur!" Lia hissed, walking up to Quentin's apartment. "Behave yourself or you're not coming out for a while, got it?" There was a faint meow from her bag and she sighed. She remember when the kitten had looked cute and not been so annoying. It was like having a kid. Putting the bag of treats on the floor, the elemental knocked, now wondering if he was even awake.
