"Thanks," she said, grateful he took the drinks, not really minding or noting that he did so without using his hands. All that mattered was that her arm was free. Stretching her elbow, she made a face at the twinge of pain that moved through her forearm. Stupid bombing. If only she hadn't tripped. Another thought for another moment.
Her eyes swept the apartment, noting it hadn't changed all that much except for the talking seagull in the room. Scratch that. It appears things had changed. "Yeah, she does. Little kitten." As soon as she could put the bag of breakfast down, she set her purse on the counter. Nix wriggled her way out, tail first. Lia giggled. "This is Nix. Say hi and try not to be annoying."
Please, I'm never annoying. Everyone loves kittens. The little ball of fur twitched her tail in what should have been a snooty manner, if she were as sleek and elegant looking as her mother. It's nice to meet you.
The elemental rolled her eyes. "Did you ever meet Cat? Well, she apparently got herself knocked up and this is the kitten I kept. Mostly because she kinda kept me." Lia leaned against the counter and sighed. "She's been a handful during the move and getting my new place painted and all that. Not fun."
I was a perfect angel!
"Your mother would say otherwise. I may not be able to hear her thoughts, but even I can tell when she's rolling her eyes at you." It was true but Lia wasn't going to push the issue. This wasn't the time or place. She was supposed to be catching up on things with her friend, not arguing with her furball familiar. "So, familiar and a new tattoo. How's everything else?"
