The Professors had locked off the Great Hall right after lunch, the only people allowed in were the social committee. The girls spent the better part of the day missing classes and setting up for the ball.

Some tables were set up around the walls.

It didn't take long for everything to be in order. The girls spent the last few moments putting the touches on the food and drinks.

About an hour before the ball was to start the girls were finally done. It was a beautiful sight with ghosts everywhere, there was a stage where the two most popular bands were going to be playing. It was by far one of the more elegant balls in the past few years.

When the doors opened to allow the students in a low growl was heard before the first band took the stag in an uproar.

Once the place was crowded an announcement was made.... "Morning classes will be canceled tomorrow!"

Avalon had been feeling so miserable after learning her sister had a date and she didn't -- how in the world had Zara got a date before her?! Had the world gone upside down?!! -- she even thought of not going to the ball. But right when her mind was starting to come up with good reasons and excuses not to go to the ball, her knight in shinning armour came to the rescue; although there was no shinning armour, just the Slytherin colours on the school uniform. But Scorpius looked better than any knight in that.

And he surely look incredibly good in his costume, just like she did in her Cleopatra one. "I think it's safe to say we're the best dressed in the whole room." She said with a smirk on her face as she looked around the Great Hall.

Scorpius supposed it had been rather cruel of him to wait so long to ask Avalon to the ball, though it had, in all truth, been his plan all along. Sometimes it was just too much fun to watch her panic. Besides, she now thought of him as her saving grace, rescuing her from an onslaught of humiliation. It was a title that definitely had its advantages.

"Of course, love," he replied to her statement, smirking slightly. Quite frankly, he detested the outfit he had on, though he found hers rather appealing. Scorpius had never been a fan of sandals. "They can't take their eyes off of you."

Had she known he had been deliberatedly waiting until the last minute to ask her, Avalon would kill him right there. But it was a good thing she hadn't realized of his plan. It surely mad ehim ook very good in her eyes.

She knew how he felt about the costume and she really appreciated that he had worn it even if he didn't like it. That gesture would had its reward, he could be sure of that.

"I know, right?" She grinned. "But the girls are looking at you like they want to eat you... Too bad it won't be possible." She said, pulling herself closer to him, as if making sure everyone knew he was with her. Possessive? Oh yes.

A brow rose in amusement as Avalon pulled him close, his hand moving to place itself in the small of her back. She had already won his favor for the evening. If there was one way to get to Scorpius' good side, it was by boosting his ego.

He led her further into the room, irked by the annoying noise his sandals made, though his face showed no signs. "Impossible? Are you planning on staying by my side all night, then?" he asked her, smirking slightly. He wouldn't mind an eyeful of Avalon for the remainder of the evening
